my god it's great to see a young woman enjoying the music that I was jamming in high school nearly 50 years ago. we had great music
I was in junior high when BTO was popular, but I agree with your comment.
"You Ain't Seen Nothing Yet" was written by Randy Bachman. The song was performed as a joke for his brother Gary, who had a stutter, They only intended to record it once with the stutter, and send the only recording of it, to Gary. They tried to redo the song without the stutter. But executive "Charlie Fach" of their record company (Mercury records) said leave it just as it is, with the stutter. Bachman was reluctant because he had sung the song on the first take. It's sharp, it's flat, I'm stuttering it was meant to be a joke. :)~
I had never heard this story before. Those crazy Canadians!
I wonder if there's a story behind the Who "My Generation"? Roger Daltrey sings that one with a stutter.
Yes this was first an instrumental the band used to tune up and sync up with the studio equipment, Bachman added lyrics along the way, taking the stuttering from his brother and the song My Generation which came out about 5 years earlier. They never intended this to be on any album but the producer was in the studio one day and asked what 'the single' for the album would be, the one song they'd release as the single. They didn't know or have one so Bachman said what about this almost off handedly, the producer heard this song and said, "That's it, that is the single, it's upbeat' and it was added to the album with the stuttering.
@@secularZoo Yes there is, I read that Roger was stuttering like the people they knew who used amphetamines/ speed. When really amped up, people will stutter when talking.
Wrong. He had to do something one day and he was late for band practice. He called and told the band to let his brother stand in for him until he got there. His brother had a stutter and this is how he sang it. When Randy got there the band told him they liked it better the way his brother sang it. So they decided to do it that way. I am not sure where you all got the lie that keeps getting passed around, but Randy told what happened himself years ago in an interview. Now the internet has it all mixed up.
@@tammycenter8757 Was in an interview that Randy gave.
Takin Care Of business, Let It ride, roll On down the Highway and Shotgun Rider are also good B.T.O. tunes to check out.
All of em!
And do not forget: * Gimme Your Money Please *
His story about the pizza delivery guy playing the piano part on “Takin’ Care of Business” is one of the funniest rock and roll stories ever!
BTO likes to tell the fake story as a joke. The guy who plays the piano is a real musician who was busy working in the next studio, so he wrote the piano part on a pizza box.
Oahu Hawaii Yes I just read that the other day. How disappointing!
@@chrino21: Lots of urban legends are created this way. And it isn't only done in the music industry.
Never let the truth get in the way of a good story.
There are a lot of incorrect statements made on YOU TUBE.
The BTO logo with the maple leaf inside the gear, unquestionably one of the great rock icons EVER.
It was a Good song, but the "Hook" made it a Legend!
His name is pronounced [Bok]man, just like Bach the composer is pronounced.
I like how he's like stuttering in the song, very unique
Was our college go to song at our keg party ! Lol
Nothing like 100 fellow students dancing and singing along in the
Quad !
Thanks for bringing back that memory !
Friday ‘Happy Hour’after a week of College Classes.
I would have loved to be around then . God i hate modern music
Geoffrey you must have gone to Michigan, right? BTO sure was big here.
You're reminding me how much fun the 70s were. You start thinking about certain people, certain places, at certain points in time.
Randy Bachman was a character. A badass performer.
Randy still is.
One of my all time favorites. Love B.T.O.
Randy Bachman was also in the band The Guess Who before he put together BTO...
I remember when this song was out. I was a 4-5 year-old kid who thought this was one of the coolest songs on the radio.
You were right, it was one of the coolest songs on the radio. I saw BTO in '74 perform this song and many others when I was a teen, living in Chicago, my first concert!
@@ronaldmilner8932 That is cool!
BTO...damn, another example of GREAT 70s music!!
I was a Senior in high school when this came out.
Lead singer Randy Bachman was the guitarist for the Guess Who before BTO
Sanford-Townsend Band "Smoke From A Distant Fire" (1977)
Good, considering it was just a joke on Randy's brother, who stutters. It was never meant to be released.
Bachman was the founding member and also the guess who.
The beat of the song has what we called the "BTO Gallop".
A good one by BTO.Driving my '68 Camaro in '74 with this playing loudly in the eight track player with my buddies passing around a joint, great memories.
Takin Care Of Business was one of their biggest hits - Randy formed BTO after the Guess Who broke up and Burton Cummings the lead vocalist went solo. Guess Who had 15 hits and Burton had a number solo hits (Stand Tall, My Own Way To Rock etc) and BTO (Randy et al) had a numlber of hits also. Guess Who actually performed their hit American Woman on the White House lawn for pres. Nixon LOL
Angela not sure how you are selecting your song (for songs of the 70s), but Joni Mitchel Big Yellow Taxi from 1970s, would be a good suggestion. Another great Canadian artist.
R.I.P. Robbie Bachman.
Takin Care of Business is a must as well for BTO
Great Music, great times.
Love the way you love music from the 70's, am I
Wrong is the 70's your favorite.
The lead singer was fooling around in the studio doing impressions of different people while singing this song and he started doing an impression of a relative who stuttered and the producer heard it and wanted the group to record the song with him singing that way and so they reluctantly did and the song hit number one. That is why he sounds like he is stuttering while he is singing.
The Bachman boys are from my hometown of Winnipeg. There are four brothers, Gary had a bad stutter. Randy wrote the song, which they used as a warm up tune. He teased Gary that they would put it on their next album. T(dir next album was short a song. Their manager suggested they record it without the stutter. They did, but it didn’t sound as good so they put the stutter back in and on it’s release in 1974 it reached #1 in the US on The Billboard Hot 100.
Omg ……. Is this girl Gorgeous or what❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️
so glad that you discovered another great band from Canada.
GREAT SONG...OF 70S. Sound. Guitar...is out the world...
This song (and BTO) always take me back to high school, in the best way.
That was Bachman singing if you want to hear Turner try Roll on down the highway. This might also have been in a commercial at one time.
Yes Please do Takin Care Of business by BTO
I remember this from a high school dance where we clunky teens were pretending to dance to what's really not a dance song and trying hopelessly to impress the girls. Great memories great song, thank you! 💯
Definitely a 🌿🌿 air band tune.
BTO!!!! Awesome group!!!! So many memories!!! Thank you. Just an old lady 👵🏻 in Oregon 💚💚💚💚💚💚 so many of these songs people have heard in movies… why?? Because the 70’s had great music and story tellers!!! And awesome playing of their instruments!!!
Randy Bachman was also with The guess who" who had such hits as these eyes ans American Woman
So glad you took my suggestion Angela. This is one of the defining rock songs of the 70's. Hope everyone enjoyed!
Wow, you found them. Bachman Turner Overdrive. You ain't seen nothin' yet, great song. Something to try, Motorhead, Ace of Spades. If you have ever seen a faster drummer tell me. Can you imagine being surrounded by music like this in the 60's and 70's. When all this fantastic music stopped it was like going into withdrawal symptoms. Now you know why us older guys are so disappointed in the music of today.
Look at the views in 4 hours!
We love some BTO! "Let it Ride" is a classic.
You found yet another Classic Canadian group ! And it is pronounced 'Backman' !
Time for some roses and a box of chocolates as I plead for your ❤ love. The group is Tavares. The song is REMEMBER WHAT I TOLD YOU TO FORGET. The other is HEAVEN MUST BE MISSING AN ANGEL. Enjoy !
Randy Backman, singing, later became the writer /guitarist for the Guess Who with Burton Cummings singing.
Your order is mixed up the band began in my home town as Chad Allan and the Reflections, changed to The Guess Who. Randy and Burton both wrote lyrics but Burton Cummings was lead vocalist. Randy left and with Fred Turner formed BTO. Later Burton left The Guess Who for his solo career.
Where's all the Boston , Kansas , Foreigner , Foghat , Pink Floyd , Grand Funk Railroad , CCR , Tom Petty , Dr. Hook and the Medicine Show , Led Zepplin , ACDC

Keep on truckin gal , love the reactions
Haven’t heard BTO in years!! Great band. Fun music! Thanks Angela!
Randy really is a Canadian rock God
For fun now I'd suggest reacting to the son of the guy singing in this one. Tal Bachmann is the son of Randy Bachmann. Tal's biggest success was with his song 'She's So High' released in 1999. It is very worthy of a reaction.
Try listening to this song in your car while driving with the windows down on a warm and sunny day. Trust me . . . it's different. ;)
"Taking Care of Business" is another great song by BTO.
Awesone. Great Rock song. Not too complex and audience friendly.
The correct way to say their name is "Ba-achman Turner Overdrive". More commonly known as BTO. They have several nice songs, which some viewers have already supplied to you. I'd like to add "Looking Out for #1" and "Hey You" as a couple of other songs to check out.
love that you love good music
Your response is alike my own as a young adult back then. 60s and 70s simply rule. Keep up the great work! You make this ole man's heart smile.
Lol
Thanks
The drummer looks like one of the brother’s that played the drums for the band ToTo? Another good song that will make you get up cut the rug is from Lynyrd Skynyrd live album “ One more from the road “ song called T for Texas T for Tennessee damn good guitar riffs from their three guitarist recorded live at the Fox Theater in Atlanta on July 7,8 and 9 they performed three shows to raise money to save the Fox Theater in Atlanta, oh you’re a fine looking woman 👍👍
In all songs the kicking in part is called the Hook :)
Oh yeah, this is a Classic among classics. I can’t imagine anyone not hearing at least
a piece of it somewhere. My first concert. You’ll probably recognize “Taking Care of Business”
also, my favorite. Fun band.
It’s actually pronounced Bach as in the composer.😘
Bach is wonderful.
Great 60's 70's and even some 80's music, never gets old. I was lucky enough to listen and hear some of this great '70s stuff when it first came out. Nothing that's out there today, comes even close to it. Thank you for doing what you're doing. And showing appreciation for so much of the great music many of us grew up with.. Stay safe and be well always !
You're so right. Glad I also grew up in the day. Best music ever. 🎶
Nice reaction. Great band. FYI, it's pronunced Backman.
BTO-let it ride !

Everything BTO was great feel good music.
Singer is ex lead guitarist for the Guess Who

BOCK man Turner Overdrive. I'll forgive you because you're so besutiful and effervescent. Need to listen to them loud!
From the 50s to the end of the 70s is the best Era for music
all the videos from the early MTV days are cheezy, great music this song is timeless.
Saw Randy Bachman perform this live in the mid 90’s👍👍
No1 hit back in Jr high and my first concert ever 1976
When you hear the “ERR - ERR” That’s the “OVERDRIVE” Kicking in!
Cowbell RULEZ!!!!
Loved it!
Randy Bachman of both 'The Guess Who' then 'Bachman Turner Overdrive'. Lots of great songs from both.
This song always puts me in a good mood
Crank up the volume and turn on the reverb
Amen!! Great tune!
Forgot how fun this song is, driving down the street in a convertible. Life is good.
This song has been in so many TV commercials! Even here in Australia!
Straight outa' Winnipeg, Angela! In the 1970's the meteroic rise of BTO was all about bump and grind rock for dancers but also smooth to keep it tasty for listeners. All the other commenters will give you their favorites so I won't -- no wait! I will say try their jazz-funk fusion number, "Blue Collar." They can still crank it out today in concert!
Cut my teeth jamming to these good ole boys !
My first rock concert BTO! Great memories.
Bachman (pronounced Bawkman). Who doesn’t love a song about a brown eyed girl? Check out Van Morrison’s Brown Eyed Girl. You’re on 🔥girl!
Little known fact. The song “she’s so high” is by Tal Bachman, son of Randy from BTO.
Hey Angela 💕💕, you want to check out the others by BTO Bachman, looking , out for number 1 and, Blue Collar.
Hi, Angela. Thanks for your honest reaction to this song. It was a great song for singing to while downing a few cold ones in the 'before times'. Stay healthy and safe 👍🏽 ⭐ ⭐ ⭐ ⭐
Randy Bachman (lead singer, rhythm guitar in video) actually plays the lead on the recording. Blair Thornton is seen in this video playing the lead guitar. The guitar solo was played through a Leslie speaker normally used by Hammond organ players. The Leslie has a rotating system of horns and baffles that the player can control the speed of their rotation. Randy uses the slower 'choral' setting. The faster setting is known as Tremolo. Best wishes Angela RNB
BTO and RUSH, two of Canada's best exports!!
I always loved this song ♥️
Great song from my highschool days. ☮️✌️💕👌
Let it Ride is my favorite BTO song.. Bock-man.
OMG, this is a classic Canadian rock band!!😁👌👍✌
