The way Eren looks in this pic defines his entire character angry, furious and can't comprehend what he saw in the memories the sadness and cruelty he's about to unleash upon this world. He doesn't want to but have no choice you can see him going against himself arguing why he should do what needs to be done and why it is the most inhumane thing and he shouldn't do it. It's not just a fight against the world and fate it's also a fight against his very own self and his humanity.
