Inspired by some projects I found online ( • Magnetic Polisher and • MAGNETIC TUMBLER MACHINE ) I decided to embark on making my own! This is part one with an overview of the project and the basic functions of the motor and electronics.

I have a magnetic beburr machine as a micro machinist we machine many non ferrous metals and it is great for that but because we have one I wouldn't be building one but I am here for other projects as you share them, thank you great video. I discovered your channel through he titanium keyboard key covers they are unique.

Hey Chris, nice video thanks! Your idea of crowdsourcing is great, I like it! Just please keep in mind to keep your projects cheap because not everybody can spent a lot of money on the required parts and gear. I'm really exited for that automatic bandsaw/chopsaw project! Keep it coming in..

I think it's a good idea to make machines the maker community can extend. You should probably worry the least about software since that is the easiest for people to improve upon. I hope it takes off.

Hey Chris good video looking to do something similar with an Arduino and clearpath motor. want to be able to control speed with a pot and display speed of the motor on a screen. Do you know if its possible to get the Clearpath motor to send speed to an LCD display and then use a pot to adjust the speed. Thanks

I wonder if there's any use in multi speed or varying speed profiles to induce more turbulence in the mixture?

    Hello, I like your video.
I like your BMSR technology (operating, measuring and control technology) the control panel, I've ever seen somewhere, it is in front of me
    We are soul mementos.

Nice project. That motor is a gross overkill tho all of its sweet features go to waist..

A big reason I wanted to use one of these motors is just size and weight. I have very little room in the garage and this will need to be stored away when not in use. If you look at the size of the other DIY machines they are just way too big and heavy to be practical to move.

The smell is ozone, like when you run a finger across a CRT screen after it has been on!

From magnets exploding? That'd be pretty neat. I love the smell of ozone but it's been a while since I've smelled it. Maybe that WAS it!

I wish that I could! With ALL of my videos income I couldn't even pay my electricity bill every month. Ad revenue is pretty much worthless unless you are fortunate to have enough subscribers (1M+) and are able to do all the dumb stuff (sensational titles, appeal to mass audiences, etc) and upload nearly every day and keep a schedule. To do all the work, make the documents, dimension all the drawings, write "manual" type things - it's working for way less than minimum wage for a small channel like this one. Not to say that I only do it for the money but I do need to be spending the majority of my time "working" to keep paying the bills. :-/

Teknic's website is rather crappy. Why do you have to register to see prices? The whole company seems rather shady to me.

      Hi Projectaro,
I ran across your post and am sorry to hear that your experience on Teknic’s website did not live up to your expectations. This is especially disappointing because Teknic has spent a great amount of effort to make our website as user-friendly as possible. I don’t want to hijack Chris’s CZcams channel, but a bit of clarity here might be helpful.
To start, everyone can view the 1-9 pc prices for all ClearPath motors and accessories on Teknic’s website without having to register. Only pricing for quantities greater than 9 units requires a registration for products that are sold online.
Just for background information, Teknic only sold servo components to high volume OEM companies for close to 25 years. These companies bought Teknic products in quantities of hundreds or thousands of units per year, and the pricing was provided directly to the customer based on the quoted volume (not on negotiations). While we still have that OEM focus, the release of the ClearPath integrated products started a new chapter for us. Teknic is now able to provide servo components to low volume integrators, and even the DIY community as a whole, directly through our website.
Why does Teknic request a registration at all? The answer may not be obvious: improved technical support. When someone registers on Teknic’s website, a Teknic engineer is assigned to that person/company. The Teknic engineer then does online research (if possible) to understand what market and type of application the company typically does. This methodology allows Teknic to provide more efficient support for our customers if and when they contact us.
Teknic is always working to improve our website and documentation so we welcome all customer feedback. We often use that feedback when making improvements. Please send any additional comments to support@teknic.com and include your suggestions for improvement (screenshots are greatly appreciated). I can guarantee that your comments will be reviewed and that someone will respond to you in a timely manner.
      Best regards,
Jon K. - Teknic Servo Systems Engineer

I’ve been using their units on a 3-axis knee mill for a couple of years, no problems whatsoever. One of the local HAAS techs was in my office when I had them on a table before installation and said ‘Hey, I’ve seen those before, they make them not far from here.’ Website may not be spiffy, but products are Top Notch, I’m just glad they sell to more than just OEMs.
