- In this video I'm back working on my cheap Casino brand Fender Stratocaster copy. I strip the factory poly finish and fit the new black pickguard and rear tremolo covers. As usual with a partscaster the plastic aftermarket guitar hardware needs scraping and filing to fit well. Almost all the existing holes don't line up and needed filling. I mix a red tinted danish oil as a stain and sealer in one, and applied several coats. Then I sprayed the body with Dulux Duramax semi-gloss clear, a hardware store rattle can.

Bamboo skewers are a life saver
Ha ha. Yes, I have these plus toothpicks at my bench ready to go all the time!..
Great videos. Australia specific content is really helpful.
Cheers mate.
Terrific work as usual. Would love to see how this one ended up. Thanks again for sharing your invaluable knowledge on all things guitar :-)
Nice job Rob.
Thanks Sebastian.
Hey Rob I love your videos. So informative and professional. I am learning heaps from you. Keep it up.
Damn, wish I’d seen this before I butchered a body just a couple of days ago lol. Great job man. The body I’m working on turned out to be quilted maple on a cheapo Ashton of all things!!!
Wow. Nice one. I've heard of this happening. A sunburst or trans finish is messed up or damaged somehow in the factory, so they reuse the body for a solid colour...
I used a hand torch..move it fast and it works great
That's a great idea! I'll definitely try it next time.
@RobMods I did it on a mim tele..the poly almost falls off. Just move fast so it doesn't heat the area to much. Made really fast work though.
Excellent!
