    Yes I have been researching DAPs for quite some time and summer 2023 I was purchasing (and returning) many DAPs! I have watched your videos quite a bit then. I gave up because the UI and OS were just not working for me. I have been using an old smartphone, my husband's old LG phone as a player, but it is old, and maybe I will get a DAP after all. Thanks!

      I hope you will manage to find one that is a lot of fun to use. I personally always had a good experience with iBasso, for example with the DX260, newly released, but solid performer.

    Thanks for your review
    There are volume control apps that allows you to auto customize your volume setting from media and notification when you switch on any app of your choice, and auto revert back to volume setting of your choice when you switch it off
    Meaning, when i switch on Tidal or Spotify my phone automatically turns silent. I still receive notification but it doesnt interrupt my listening. I can check them later. And when i turn off the app, my notification volume restores back to normal. All these is done without lifting a finger. I just need to set it once at the beginning and im all good
    You can even do it for any other apps too, including media apps - including a specific setting when paired with Bluetooth per app. Its highly customizable
    Just saying uninterrupted listening can work on phones. It shouldnt be a feature just for DAP. Phone sound quality is bad. Dongle dacs can be used for decent sound. More dongle dacs are entering market and its sound quality is also improving. And when your phone eventually dies, the same dongle dac can still be used on your new phone. You do not need to keep buying new device again. Maybe just a new cable every now and then due to wear and tear
    The main reason for DAP is mostly sound quality and its superior build comfort without a weird dongle dac sticking out from a phone, but its eventual obsolescence for Android and battery degradation is what prevents me from considering it
    I have old dac amp that can be powered by rechargeable common battery or without it by directly plugged in USB. Because it doesnt depend on a irreplaceable lithium battery, its still working for around 14-15 years now. Where else my DAPs and battery DAC amps, they eventually die. If only makers consider swappable batteries for such practical functionality
    If DAP allows you to conveniently replace battery, i would easily consider it as it extends the life longer. But as of right now, i stay away from device that has a battery in it because usually its difficult to change the battery or even find one that is compatible to do so

      @AudiophileHeaven  Před 7 měsíci +1

      Woah, nice input!
      You can actually really easily replace the battery on most DAPs, I did this for a few, including iBasso DX220 , which took me around 5 minutes

      @yds1133 Před 7 měsíci +1

      @@AudiophileHeaven Makers should advertise that their batteries can be replaced, that gives immediate and early assurance when making buying decision. This option should be deliberate and by design, not left to chance or luck by users to figure it out whether it can be replaced or not

    There is a big difference in sound quality compared to the R4? This one convinces me more because of the battery and its compactness. I hope you can solve this doubt for me.

    • @AudiophileHeaven
      @AudiophileHeaven  Před 2 měsíci +2

      R4 sounds better in sonics, but buy the one that seems more useful to you. Sonic quality alone isn't enough to make you grab it, I sometimes go for something smaller and more convenient, for example these days I tend to grab TWS IEMs sometimes because it is too hot to get HE1000SE outdoors on my head

    What would you choose betwen this one and the new Hiby R4? I am not a rich person and i wish to not regret buying the wrong one. I am undecided between these 2...R3 II and R4....my heart goes to R4, but...i wish your opinion... i am not an expert on these things, and this will be my first ever Dap, in my life, now at 54 years old....so i wish to not regret the choice later..

    hello! great review as always! How is the Bluetooth performance on the R3II? Mainly as a Bluetooth receiver. I would like to connect to my phone and also to my tv to watch shows and movies using my wired headphones, does the R3 II perform as well as a qudelix 5k on this scenario? with great sound and minimal delay, or being a bluetooth receiver is not its strong point?

    • @AudiophileHeaven
      @AudiophileHeaven  Před 6 měsíci +1

      Hii, Bluetooth is not a strong point for it, so I would rather go with Qudelix 5K , FiiO BTR7, or FiiO Q15

    I have an s 23 ultra a 7hz 71 to stay wired, a fiio brtk fir bluetooth, and a pair of kz s10 proxs im all about. But i would love one of these for tidal offline. Without sounding completely ignorant but would i even notice a difference? Nice video.

      Thank you! I think that you would notice an improvememnt over fiio btr series of dongles if using an R3ii

    Great review. Thanks. Do you know of any larger DAP that can be used as a transport and has a fast neutral sound? Thanks!

    • @AudiophileHeaven
      @AudiophileHeaven  Před 7 měsíci +2

      Hm... Since I basically could not tell the differences between different DAPs, I would say to go with something like a smartphone that is quick and has a microSD slot, it may be best for a large display and should have a similar sound to most transports, the sound will be determined in biggest part by the DAC/AMP you will be using. Most bigger DAPs can be used as transports, like iBasso DX160, but it sounds very good by itself and it is a big pricey for a transport
