I think you said it right when you described the application as needing a delay on break relay. I've always felt "delay on break" relays (such as ICM203 and 206) were misnamed and should be called something more like "lock-out timer relay after power interruption", but obviously that name is too long. I didn't hear why the delay on make type was selected in the end.

Most digital thermostats already have a built-in delay-on-break in the thermostat chip.
True, but the low pressure switch is interrupting power at the outdoor unit. The thermostat would still be powered and calling for a y call in the event of a low pressure switch tripping, it's just that it wouldn't reach the contactor coil. He is going to install the delay between the low pressure switch and contactor coil.

I’m debating putting a ductless mini split upstairs in my game room and media room since our builder had the great idea to just zone it when those are the only 2 rooms upstairs. 5 ton single stage unit trying to blow through 4 supply registers when only that zone calls, they used a bypass duct to relieve the excess pressure that causes my coils to freeze.

i run a 2015 F350 with a Knapheide Kuvcc KC108M2078J that has been customized with (4) Pack rate pull-out drawer units 9" & 13' models in the rear along with a transverse compartment with Knapheide (4) drawer (4' depth) Ctech pull-out draws 500 lbs capacity per drawer on each side of the trucks transverse compartments (8) total drawers. I completely understand what BERN M was stating about the lack of parts storage.
My Knapheide KUVcc enclosed Utility body has a great amount of different storage space and some Milwaukee Packout containers, Festool Systainer & Sortainers, and Sortimo T-Boxxes as well as A variety of Veto bags set up for particular jobs. I have the truck filled with all, and almost every, type of parts and tools I hopefully need to carry out any repair I may come upon. i carry hydronic parts, electrical connectors, crimp wires terminals , wiring harness cannibalized off old equipment with molex connectors, oil nozzles, oil pump, primary control, ignition transformer, oil pressure/suction manifold, oil line purge tools, strains & oil filter, tigerloops, flare fitting/flaring tool and other oil line fittings, electrodes, gas ignition modules, aquastats, zone valves, zone valves and motors, HSI, Flame sensors, gas spark electodes, relays, time relay relays, defrost coil temp sensors, defrost boards, various refrigeration fitting, and valves, boiler drain caps & gaskets, Control boards of all type, especially Carrier Equipment and universal fan timers and HSI boards, thermostat and high volt wire, many types of thermostats and fast-stat add-a-wire accessories, thermocouples, mercury flame sensors, all types of tapes and adhesives, a collection of service valve caps from old equipment, sheet metal tools, sheet metal, drive & cleat, mastic, furnace cement, draft inducers, blower and condenser fan motors, a collection of capacitors for condeners, blowers and inducers, condensate pump of differnt sizes and voltages, vinyl tubing, 1/2"-1" PVC fittings and pipes, ez-traps, overflow saftery switches, wet switches, soldering kit with reisistors and various other soldering part, roll-out switches, limit switches, furnace condensate traps & gaskets, LPG conversion kit parts, pilot assemblies, pilot burner tubing, bolt, nut and washer assortment kits, brazing equipment and related materials, nitrogen, 6 cylinders of refrigerants, various water hoses and coil cleaning material, a entire compartment of aerosol cans, contactors, transformers, compressor terminal repair kits.
Now all of my electronic test equipment is stored in the extended cab with a partition from officetruck.com for the interior/cab for the F350. i love my tools and the extended cab is the storage area for all my meter, meter leads, megger insulation tester, DMM, decade boxes and resistance simulators, ECM motor testers, anemometers, boroscopes, thermal imagers, wireless/smart probes, multiple refrigerant leak detectors, Milwaukee M18/M12 tools, and various other test instruments.
Personal Evacuation kit, Trublu hoses, micron gauges, VCRT, Nylog, and many other evac fittings/adapters and my JB platinum indestructible vacuum pump, CPS recovery unit with desuperheater, wire brushes, acid test kits, filter driers, foam insulation tapes, extra refrigerant charging hoses and backup analog gauges in case my AK900's have issues, ak900 extra thermistor pipe temp clamps, jb low loss fittings, set of WEH quick connect fittings, LPS and swivel tee assortment kit, Flaring tools, torque wrenches, multiple socket set, proto ratcheting reversible combination wrench sets SAE/Metric, specialty right angles hand tools with rotating handle for tight access, Plumbing/soldering supplies, Pressure relief valves, PRV/backflow preventers, circulator pumps, ECM motor modules, gas valves, combustible gas leak detectors, Manometers, and positive & negative pressure simulators, pressure switches and A LOT, LOT more. A 1500 watt power inverter, 18650 & 21700 batteries and chargers from flashlights and headlamps, Milwaukee M18/M12 charger and batteries, Gas pipe fitting and nipples, thread sealants, anti-seize compounds, wrenches, broken nipple removers, screw and bolt extractor, die and tap sets and I could go on and on. Blower wheel, pulley, and fan blade pullers. I'm like a traveling parts distributor. Being a service tech definitely requires more items to be stocked in your truck. I've actually had other contracts try to buy parts off me when out working but they don't want to play flat rate for the parts!! LOL. I'm always on the lookout for new innovative tools and universal parts that could save me time and having to return with parts for a job. I also have a Magnet fetish. i have so many magnet Fishing type magnets and many magnetic parts trays modified with very strong magnets added for easy storage and access mounted on the rear doors of the body. Magnets are a very truely underrated accessory that can make life much easier. Such as the Fastcap Pro-hold screw holder and Fastcap tip mag which I couldn't live without. I keep a pro-hold on my new M12 4gen impact driver and another on my veto bag for holding various screws straps and any other small metal object that I never worry about losing or misplacing.
I could continue but I'll stop boring everyone with these super long comments....Maybe ill make a video of my truck setup and parts/Materials and cab electronics installed if people are interested. It will also give me a reason to clean out and reorganize my truck since it's been a while and the summer has ended things get out of control and the rear interior of the body looks like a bomb went off inside.

Doesn’t that Carrier heat pump already have a low and high pressure switch? Hence the yellow wire with pink stripe and baby blue wire coming off the defrost board? Gonna be done with school next month on the 15 and I’m nervous about going into the field, my schooling was only about 3 months and then I can do my epa exam, really hope I get a good teacher when I finally get out there, wish I had this guy to show me, love the videos and they teach me a lot, could only imagine if he could show me in person 😢
Hey man HVAC is a great trade to be in, try looking for an apprenticeship but make sure you keep notes with you. One thing I would make sure to know before you leave school is how to test/wire a capacitor, condenser fan motor, contactor, relays and how to check your pressures.

i would put the wire wheels under the bottom shelf by the wheel well, bet it will fill up the space good. Then on the open side I would do a high single shelf and would get two/three more of those long tool boxes.
Universal Contactor work better as a delay and also for a softer start of the compressor protecting as well from brownouts
Mount pvc tubes on the empty side with a wire spool rack on top. Nice to be able to carry drive,s kleet, and other things like tgat

The tdr is not usually needed unless it's really old equipment before the days of delays, most equipment out there will have built in tdrs weather it's in the board or external, this unit has it built in the board from the quick look of it, so now you've given it a 10 min delay which is overkill. Not saying this to be negative just for a heads up.

My biggest complaint against running Sealtite over a roof, especially here in the southwestern US would be low humidity and exposure to the sun. It's a matter of a few years before the coating off-gasses to the point of drying out and falling apart allowing water intrusion.
Conduit is a more permanent solution.
Great video bro! I'm not really sure why guys are wanting to install pressure switches on the Swivel Tees with no Schrader Core. Especially when most have a depressor on them.
(I understand that you can just remove the tee if the switch fails)
I guess it's just my preference & personally think it's just a lot easier to remove & replace the switch if it goes bad.. Not remove the tee, replace the switch & then put the tee back on.. I'm sure all you guys have ran across units with high pressure switches & no core. Then you think there might be 1, then it starts blowing out the charge till you tighten it back up. Oh yeah, then you get 1 of those dumbass techs that just puts another tee with another switch.. Lmao

If the thermostat already has a delay, aren't you doubling the delay time everytime you get a cooling call now? Wouldn't a delay on break accomplish this without that problem? Unless of course you took out the delay on the thermostat settings.
Thermostats only have a power Lost time delay
It would and a delay on break would be better for this. But it wouldn't be a big deal in either case unless the delay is set very long. A couple minute time delay every time there is a call would not be noticeable.
There thermostats that are able to delay fan off for both heating and cooling

I don’t know whether this might help you or not. As you continue to work on your plan for operating efficiency, I think I would want to have a pull-out drawer where I could plug in my rechargeable batteries into their chargers and have them charging until they are full. With the auto-shutoff chargers you won’t have to be concerned about a battery overcharging and heating up. The way I would power them would be with a deep cycle battery which is charged by solar panels on the roof of your van. With your ability to lock the slide-out drawers, even beef-up your locking mechanisms or not, you can keep your equipment secure and not have to be taking equipment out of van for safer keeping overnight or when you are out-of-town. After seeing what you have done, I don’t know why any successful tradesmen would not want to do the same thing. The only other issue might be the need to carry a ladder. With the way a lot of sturdy ladders are made, in terms of collapsing, you can have a rack on the inside of your van. I really do appreciate the way you think outside of the box.
In addition I would have two alarm systems on your van. One inside the passenger/ driver area and the one for the “tool room”, I would put a 135 decibel alarm with at least 2 speakers imbedded inside of vented metal “boxes”. Again, that way if an unauthorized person got either one of the doors opened, they would be met with a blast of siren, semi-horn, freight train, etc. I would have some kind of video surveillance, as well. If nothing else, you might have some content for “Families Funniest Home Videos”!!

There is (ZERO DELAY) from when thermostat calls for heat/cool in normal operational sequence..
Now he has a 5min delay (EVERY TIME) it starts which may become problematic if in a hot/humid climate especially the "SOUTH EASTERN" U.S...
Best way is to put that delay on "RED 24V" wire.. Most control through the board and if it loses red it automatically goes into delay... Goodman-Amana, Rheem-Ruud does i know for sure.
Why did unit need a low pressure switch?
That's the question for the customer. Nothing was addressed about fixing an abnormal situation.
A LPS is a protective device to prevent the compressor from running if there is low or no refrigerant. If the compressor starts pulling a vacuum on the low side it will burn out pretty dang quick. A couple of days ago I had a system that had no refrigerant and no LPS so the compressor just kept going until it locked up completely. If there had been a LPS it would just be a leak repair and recharge. Now its a whole new system.

@@steveedlund7357 it was a older budget R22 unit that did not have a HPS or LPS and had an all aluminium condenser coil. The fan motor died and because there wasnt a hps the compressor kept running and built up a shit ton of head pressure. The factory used a press fitting going from the copper to aluminum and the pressure was enough to blow the copper out of the fitting. So all the refrigerant was lost very quickly. Then because there was no LPS the compressor just kept on going until it completely locked up.
It made a loud enough bang that the ladies neighbors came over to see if everything was alright. It blew the discharge line out with enough force to twist it all to fuck. The cost of the repairs would be too high to be worth it on a system that old.
You can never get a big enough van. I started with Astro and then got the Express 2500.
