  • A live news broadcast was interrupted by a powerful earthquake in Taiwan. Set TV's studio was violently shaken as their news presenter alerted viewers of the 7.4-magnitude quake.
At least nine people were killed and more than 800 injured by the earthquake on Wednesday morning, which has also left dozens trapped in collapsed road tunnels.
Video of the aftermath shows buildings at precarious angles in the eastern city of Hualien, an earthquake-prone area about 96 miles south of Taipei. Efforts were under way to rescue 127 people stuck under collapsed buildings and landslides.
