Once I was playing acoustic guitar with my friends in a band and I was strumming f/a in a middle of a progression instead of f. The bassist who doesn't play guitar, sitting on the other side immediately asked me, "A?". That dude earned my respect straightaway.

@@richardgiovanninainggolan3053 I'll honestly say, learn the instrument you're most excited about and that enthusiasm will help you learn faster. That being said, a bass guitar is a more straightforward as an instrument and relatively easy to pick up.

@@Juan2Steezy lol wtf are you talking about. The low string on a bass is an e and so is the 8string when it's in drop tuning. Only difference is string gage, scale length and tuning. Meaning you can play any bass riff on an 8 string with the right scale length and string gage and it will sound EXACTLY THE SAME. better yet get a bass Amp and YOU especially wouldn't even know the difference. Nube

Well the point of a guitar isn’t really to go low unless you’re playing like Metal or something, it’s point is more so for chords, power chords, riffs, and solos with higher notes. Whilst the bass can do the same stuff but is for the lower notes. Meaning that they both serve a different role and are both equally valuable.
@@ZorrotheArtist but see, the bass also isn't low enough. E1 as the lower limit just doesn't hit right, especially when you consider that C2 upwards also doesn't carry much weight anymore. So what, now you don't even have a whole octave of real B A S S notes??
As such, get a 5 string bass, get a 7 string or a baritone guitar to match it, and go to work.

that's not true at all, maybe if person is a beginner on both instruments, but given the time even if bassist picks up guitar for the first time he will play with chords, the stereotype of bassist playing basslines on guitar is growing old. And the chances are that player owns both instruments just focuses on bass more.
