The one thing this movie got right over the MCU's version was the "...man out of of time..." aspect of Captain America. In this version, he truly feels lost and like he does not belong in that era.

I actually think this movie is very underrated. Saw this once during the summer of 2011 when I graduated from high school. The anticipation of Captain America the first avenger. SyFy formerly Sci-fi showed some of the older Captain America movies from the late 70s. I enjoyed watching them. Then came Captain America (1990) I really liked it more than the MCU movies.
The reality of captain America is so real here. It's exactly what he'd do and any normal person would do. Just cos the film was so so...doesn't mean it didn't have class scenes
Say what you want about how terrible of a film this Captain America movie is. But if nothing else, it definitely had heart to it. And this song fit perfectly with the movie. It's criminal that Southside Johnny never released the whole complete song.

I actually kinda enjoyed it since guilty pleasures like this and Punisher 04' along with the 90's cartoon guilty pleasure faves like Iron Man and Hulk are what gotten me into Marvel in the first place lol.

The film sucked but this song probably captures Captain Americas plight better than anything I’ve ever heard! What’s funny is, bad as this film was, it probably captured the “man out of his time“ angle better than the modern films did even though the overall quality of the modern films are better.
Too bad the the lousy modern MCU era timeline right now ended up having a toxic fanbase lmao. Y'know what? I'm glad I grew up with guilty pleasures like this and Hulk 03' cause' I was started to get sick of the Disney-infested MCU now. And if nobody doesn't believe me..?? They can look it up and see for themselves after I tortured myself by watching She Hulk by mistake.
