I forgot to metion earlier. That 4G router should work fine. The problem is the installation. Now the installation itself should for sure give you good wifi on all parts of the boat. But the 4G Connection to the 4G network might be more questionable and no wonder why you get as good or better reception on your smart phone. 1. The antennas (the external ones) are located in horizontal position. 4G is usually transmitted vertical from the base so they should in the installation as is be standing up. 2. With all the Equipment and wires around everywhere you are getting a lot of disturbanse to the radio signal of the 4G network. It is not closed in a Cage or a metal box but you still have a lot of distractions in there getting a good signal. 2 Solutions. 1. Move the 4G router upstairs or even outside and you will experiance so much better signal. Signal will work when your phones have stopped working. 2. Keep the router where it is but disconnect the antennas and route 2 coax Cables )probably 50 ohm rg58) to a upstairs or outside position. You could use the antennas you have or buy something made to withstant being outside. Cheers, Magnus
Excellent review and common sense advices! Why builders, some of them, don't listen to what users are telling them? I've sailed merchant ships and later supervised building them. I've always thought "how it will be for the crew?" I'm surprised NEEL doesn't care, or know, that the simplest things are best! How a vessel with defects can be handed over to a new owner? Is NEEL reducing the price for every defect found onboard? Could building supervision, even periodically carried out (every month or two), ensure the owner to get a properly build vessel?
My ideal design on the 51: Take away 2 feet from the Machinery room, add them to the forecabin, switch places headnshower with the bed. -find a place upstairs for the washer/dryer combo out of the machinery room. This should be an enjoyable bydaily task. How well does the washerndryer combo work?
At 1:55 is that your hot water tank? Is it a double-walled or insulated in some other way? I've seen a few boats with them seated in styrofoam to help retain heat. I love how you've used a label maker and sharpie to identify all the different systems. Did you take the boat new from the shipyard or was it pre-owned?
How did you figure out the setting that fixed your auto pilot? We just installed an auto-pilot in our boat and it doesn't hold a course well at certain points of sail which is annoying. :)
So not sure if anyone has asked you but would you consider going total electric and eliminating the generator replacing with more solar/wind turbine/hydro generator in its place ? Adding more lithium batteries and controllers to up your amps ( for power storage ie: water maker, a/c , winches and other systems that draw large amounts of elec. ) looks like you have the room on your roof for expansion
Hello again. At 6:07 you reference water leaking in at mast and using self expanding foam to fix. Where did you apply the foam? At the mast/deck/roof joint?
One more. Right at the end you talk about the hulls not being watertight and water leaking from the fore peak into the bathrooms. Could I get more information on that?
@@carryonsailing Well I never tried one myself, but many people swear by them. Many sailing and Rv blogs explain how to make them not smell. Theres a good post about it on the blog "The boat galley".

yes there is a bow thruster. No stern thruster. I use the spring lines and often a good strong kick off the dock from the stern. On some windy days it would be nice to have a stern thruster but I get by.
I watch all the sailing channels and you are the only one who gives an honest opinion. Thank you
Thanks. I have to agree with you. Trying to add some value.
great pump and water leak detectors! We use the detectors in our house (under sinks and the furnace) and in our boat. Keep the vids coming!!!
Great. Thank you for sharing. Hope Neel take these findings and make opportunities for improvement.
This one of the most informative bits of info, thanks.
I am glad that it helps you

Thanks for taking the time to help me here. Really appreciate it.

Thanks for your comments. Yes QC would be nice. Its a small business at present so I will try to be patient with them. Even a swan takes time to fly.

There is already a place in the forward Hull for one. In the "pantry" in the toilet.

It's lagged inside very well. No issues. built from new Thanks for kind comments.
This was a great and informative video.
Glad it was helpful!
@@carryonsailing extremely helpful and answered a lot of questions and inspired a few that I’ll need to ask soon.
No problem at all. Formulate and regurgitate 'em!

Not viable in my view. I'd change the motor/sail drive to yanmar though.
Great video. What’s up with all the uncut tie wraps???
I cut them in the end. Don't worry r/makemesuffer

leaking hatches. Sorted now
@@carryonsailing thanks for the responses! I ordered my 51 for next July.
Have you ever considered a composting toilet?
You wouldnt have a leaking problem with those.
These toilets aren't what they are made out to be. They still create a lot of smell compared to a normal house toilet.

How do you adjust the tension on the autopilot blocks mentioned at 8:44?
truckers hitch
Oh dear. Great vid. But so many small annoying lapses of quality.
In fairness it is hand built, pretty much all builds on all ships are like this nowadays according to my surveyor friends
@@carryonsailing Really? Interesting. Was it all done by Neel or also other 3rd partuy suppliers after delivery?

Where did you put the self-expanding foam? Around the mast base on deck? What kind of foam did you use?
inside the mast at the base of the mast
@@carryonsailing Sorry to be clueless, but how did you get it inside the mast?
