The contemplative literature in Sanatana Dharma is very vast. One could start their spiritual quest by contemplating on simple everyday shlokas. For example - Anu Naaraayanopanishat.
(Note: The divine words like Narayana, Purusha, Shiva etc. are all to be taken as adjectives and not as names of multiple gods. Ella onde devara guNa vAchaka shabdhagaLu annuva manObhAva iddare sAku.)

The Upanishad asserts in Chapter 1 that Narayana created the prana (life essence, breath), the senses, and the mind (Chit and the consciousness). He created the elements of the universe, namely the wind (Vayu), the light (Jyoti), the water (Apas), the fire (Agni), the ether (Akasha) and the Prithvi (earth). From him were born Brahma, Rudra, Prajapati, the twelve Adityas, Indra, the eleven Rudras, the eight Vasus, the meters of verses, all sages, and all beings. Everyone is born from Narayana, and ultimately merges back into Narayana.
AND then there is a statement in Shruti - Rukveda - Purusha Sukta:
“tatha lokAgum akalpayan” - Creation, sustenance and destruction of the universe are repeated.
The same thoughts are also supported by Shakti worshippers. One of the Sahasranaamas of Devi is “tirodaana kareeshwari” - in the end She hands over the brahmanda to Shiva and merges.

3. When time is up, all merges back into force, and force (shakti) merges with the ever existing state (shiva)

Can this creation process be imagined as some forces within a large force simultaneously blast-off starting the creation process, sequentially each force within large force activities, deployed and finally the creation process is established. These forces within that large force could be Shiva energy, Shakthi energy, Vishnu energy and more as gurugalu explained.
To simplify for a larger understanding, imagine a satellite launch, one large engine blasts off the satellite, escaping the gravitational force, at different stages sequentially engines are fired at each stage to reach higher orbits and finally deployed at its desired position. Each engine stage can claim my function was critical, like gurugalu explained shaiva, Vishnu, Shakti each claim to be more important than the other... This is my limited sense to understand the process.
