I am SO doing this!!!! Thank you so much for the informative video!
Looks great, thank you.I will be going it to my JKU.
Awesome video, thanks for postingA
looks awesome!
Wow. The music had me wondering at first, but once you get past that this is actually one of the easiest to follow videos if you're looking to take off that trim.. Thanks =)
Lol funny and thank you for the comment, I will be careful for the future music in the videos :)
Great good and video, your JK looks great.
FABULOUS!
Excelente amigo!!
Nice job !
Just like a ninja. I like instruction videos where it's in fast forward. Should have used the benny Hill theme though.
VERY IMPRESSED, I am going to do this to my Mango Tango Wrangler.
great job dad
That music Blows
im planning on making my interior tan with a little blue in my trim. i have a 2001 cherokee.
Hey after you got the jeep logo off what size were the 4 screws on the metal piece and the screws on the switch panels?
Great video I'm coloring mine a dark blue, but I'm having trouble getting the vents off
Hey Mike, it's not that hard to remove the vent....you just have to rotate and aligned and use your finger to see if the hole is there, then use the small flat head screw driver and push and twist as its in the video...good luck and keep me posted :) sunny
Shifting gear remain. But generally. The work is amazing
Great job, but should of sprayed it with a clear coat hardener otherwise its gonna scratch off easy.
great video, enjoyable watch! I have no interest in doing it but it was nice to see the process in case I ever feel I need to remove/replace those trim items!
Had to relic on this video and come back just to leave a positive comment. Looks awesome! Not my personal color choice or anything but just what I'm looking for. Those plastic stick on colored pieced are garbage I hear so I'm looking to do exactly like you did and paint mine.... I wonder if krylon or some other kind of plastic binding paint would also work with this with a clear coat on top aswell.
Hey I love the video and it was very informative, I seen were after 6 months the paint was holding up... I just wanted to see how'd it continue to hold up?
OH! By the way, it looks absolutely amazing! My Jeep is 2014 "Dune" which is also a yellow shade, so I can already picture mine all finished! SO EXCITED! Does the trim to the gear shift and cup holders come off as easily as just using the tip of a screwdriver? Thank you!
IM GETTING READY TO PAINT THE INTERIOR OR MY 2011 JEEP WRANGLER BUT IM NOT SURE WAHT TO GO WITH HIGH GLOSS FINISH, HAVING THE SHINNY LOOK OR JUST PLAIN THE COLOR OF MY JEEP ITS JPG ITS A NATURAL GREEN WHAT WOULD YOU RECOMMEND?
Hey Marcos, thank you for the comment. I have medium glass, and if I were to do it again....I would definitely go with the high glass...it all depends on your personal preference, but I would definitely go with the high gloss, I hope this helps :) let me know how it goes
so they do have high gloss. thats the only thing i though when i watched, looks great though thanks for the share
Tony Barefoot yes they have hi gloss options, I picked the lowest one...but I wish it was high gloss
Wow , this looks really amazing , but if it was painted is much better , gloss color is better than matte , but I'm understand that you want to use the plasti dip so you can remove it anytime you want - looks awesome!
Super Cool dude, Great Job. Looks Amazing. It would of looked cool too if you would painter the twitters as well. I wanna paint mine now.
Thank you Mark for the comment and a great idea, let know how it comes out when you do yours, i would love to see the results.. That will be my next move to paint the tweeters and I am also gonna paint the little plate (piece) behind the door opening lever. :)... Currently working on a good louvre .....don't forget to check out my next video ....I am doing something totally crazy hahah
+Sunny Sharif right on bro, your welcome. Can't wait to see your next project. That's a great idea about the plate tho.
Thanks mark, check out my new video I just posted here is the link czcams.com/video/hb_clLCWh1s/video.html
If you ever disconnect or reconnect your airbags, be sure to disconnect the battery and wait 5 minutes first.
I just wish Jeep made those pieces screwed in. That would be dope. Probably gonna change mine out with metal ones instead of the plastic.
SwagSubscriber I love these pieces but I agree, metal would have been nicer these are too fragile....I just did all white came out really good
do you need to prime the plastic parts? will this stick without the primer? i am going to copy you on my 2016 willy's i just picked up, it's white, i may prime anyway because it's white and i want a primer under it so it pops.
Hey congrats on your new JKUWillys, what a coincidence :) I also picked up a 2016 Willys and it's also white :)....here check it out
czcams.com/video/cbFQZy-NcLo/video.html
Many awesome videos are on the way for the Willys you might wanna tag along and follow....
For the prime, I didn't prime, as the company that I got the paint from made a special paint for plastic...but in Willys I will prime and buy a regular paint...what color are you planning to do?
Sunny Sharif mine is a white 2dr but I'm doing white interior accents. i already follow the channel from your hood video. only plans i have for mine so far is the interior accents and a sound system. looking at bumpers and an Spod for future lighting projects but that is all for much later
+DWings awesome man, I'm doing whole a lot of things and in expensively :)....sPod are awesome....have you seen my DIY sPod series I made? It's a lot cheaper and super easy. Check that out as well...
If I don't unplug the airbag on the steering wheel, will I be able to skip the step of disconnecting the battery?
Yes if you are not planning to disconnect the airbag, no need for the battery disconnect
Meaning, so it wouldn't be hard to do it without unplugging the airbag?
Music is so annoying and too loud. Can't hear you.
+Rock- Ness Hey Thanks for the comment, I will try from now on to keep the music low...I haven't heard any complained on this video yet..so lets see.. but anyhow thanks for watching and subscribe more coming soon :)
Do they sell a gloss finish or a clear coat? Did you have to scuff the plastic so the paint would have something to adhere to? Shouldn't you disconnect your battery before disconnecting your airbag? Great video the stuff came out great
Hey King, thank you for the comment. It did come out good, I still love it when I sit in my car first and enjoy the change. Anyone else who sits in my car enjoys that as well and make good comments .
So now to answer your questions.....
It does come with gloss levels, I chose medium, however I wish I would have used the high gloss... But you can still add more gloss to it if you like the high glossy look.
You don't have to scuff the plastic, as the material the company used is for the plastic so it sticks to the plastic super well. It's been so long and I use my jeep a lot and I still have no issue with the paint coming off..
Yes you maybe right about disconnecting the battery before removing the airbag... But thank god I didn't encounter any issue with it....so all went well :) feel free to ask any question you may have and I will try my best to assist.
U haven't showing what kind material u using...
Did you have to purchase a clear coat? I'm confuse so do I just need to buy the color I want from imatchpaint ? Do I need anything else ??? I just purchase my first jeep.
Will the paint scratch? Could you coat it with a clear coat or lacquer to give it a high gloss? What do you recommend? Great video !!!
+AAA DJ hey thank you for the comment, its been six month since i did the paint and so far no scratches on the paint.. and its holding it well. Just make sure you let it dry for a long time.... if you order from the same company that i did it from, tell them that you need this for the plastic so they can prepare the paint for plastic so it can hold well and also then you don't have to prepare the surface for the paint as well. plus..you can tell them what kind of gloss you need... i asked them to do medium...it looks nice but i wish i would have ordered a high gloss.... then its again your personal preference what you like....you can always do a clear gloss coat on top also if you prefer high glossy look.
i hope this help you a bit..feel free to contact and i will reply ASAP....
best of luck
+Sunny Sharif Thank you for your reply and great info. Keep up the great work and I am a subscriber now.
thank you so much for the subs....i will be posting more cool videos soon..stay tuned....
WoW !!! cool thanks for the video. Question. little cautions about the airbag releasing. should i disconnect the battery? With my luck, i wouldn't want a short to set it off. Thanks again for the video. looks awesome.
Hey Joe, yes always remove the negative terminal of the battery whenever working with electrical components of the car. Thanks for a reminder also, I will make sure to include that in the future videos ;) cheers....next few videos will be led works and some DIY stuff so stay tuned :) and thank you for the comment and subscription :)
Thanks, ill make sure to do that. looking forward to the video. Sorry if this was asked but just wondering, how long did you wait between each coat ? i like the look. Am not into glossy but i love the way your finish came out. its like out of the factory.
Thanks again.
+Joe Cobos hey Joe, I waited atleast 20 minutes between each coat....quick tip, keep the spray bottle at a little distant while spraying and keep moving the bottle when spraying...also shake the bottle a lot even during the spraying ..... It's been so long since I painted and every morning when I sit in my car I love the way it looks ...I m so glad I did this....
Awesome thanks for the advice and tips. i am really excited. looking forward to trying this out on my jeep.
+Joe Cobos awesome and good luck, keep me posted and take some pics or make a video and send me the link once again good luck and feel free to ask if you may have any questions...check out my other videos for jeep or filmmaking :)
i put one of my vents on wrong and cant get it off...do know have any ideas?
It only goes one way....but if you did make a mistake....keep rotating the air direction and keep feeling the wall with your finger as soon as you feel the hole....use a screw driver and push
+Sunny Sharif Thx for responding. I damn near broke it to get if off...its off and i didnt do too much damage. i will definately pay attention next time.
+Lakesha Gardner I'm glad it's off,I was about to telling to remove the top dash panel and then you can remove the vents ;) hahah jeep is full of fun stuff...even if you break something, you can always DIY fix it I have so many DIYs on its way ;)
I'm about to spray my jeep with plasti dip spray. Have you ever used that before? Awesome video by the way....
Pete Marra hey I have used plasti Dip on my wheels, not inside though... check out my wheels video for plastidip:) let me know how it all goes :)
hey Pete, check this video out this guy used plastidip for the dash of a mini cooper :) czcams.com/video/Y6FGSBdgbRw/video.html
why can't I find vinyl paint on there site like you used
call them and tell them you need to paint the plastic and they will make the special paint for you.
sunny how much paint did you use?
Tony Barefoot hey Tony, I only used 1 but I would say get two one large and one small one
Use clear coat
unconnect the battery before you fiddle with the airbag, please.
Wish the air bag went off.
start fucking around with your steering thats smart!!! and that fucking music!
John Bissonnette hey bud it's not stupid if you know what you're doing😊
John Bissonnette how did he mess with the steering. did not even take the wheel off. Just the airbag and plastic
The more you know the less you troll
Looks like shit 👍🏿
