    He always made me INTENSELY uncomfortable in videos and i couldnt place why, so it is so gratifying to see everything condensed into this video. This is why its tough to call out abusers/gross people in general- its always small nitpicks, disguised as jokes or written off because they arent big or mean enough to make a stink about in the moment. When you see them all compiled together, though, the pattern is undeniable. Fuck Adam Rapoport.

      These are called microaggressions. And they're the new, ugly ways in which racism, xenophobia, homophobia, misogyny etc prevail in today's day and age. I am so glad he was called out.
      It's our job to educate others on how to identify these types of microagressions and help others become cognizant and mindful of how we may sometimes unconsciously feed into them.

      @@josephp.1919 I had a teacher like this. He used to tell these stupid and insensitive jokes about students and if the other students didn't laugh or called him out on it he would give them detention. He also used to award extra credit to students who came up with "jokes" he deemed funny.

    thank GOD he's gone. even before knowing all of this, it was so discomforting seeing him in any of the videos. he was never pleasant, nor entertaining, nor did he offer anything to the episode. he was just an annoyance. you could feel like uncomfortable he made everyone. molly was not shy about showing how much she detested him but it seems like adam was too much of an idiot to pick up on that. or he just waved it off on camera and decided to pick on her to make it seem like they had a "bickering pals" relationship.

      Though to be fair Sohla did misuse the current political climate and made rather unreasonable assertions about Adam. Adam is an judgemental ass, however him dressing as a stereotypical rapper/gangster on a dress up party wasn't black face as Sohla suggested. Sohla also was a rather recent addition to the test kitchen and really just complained that she didn't already have a full show or got payed for that level.
      Sure she has expirience, but not seniority.
      Personally I'm happy Adam is gone as he just made everybody consistantly uncomfortable and acted like an ass but the assertions made by both Sohla and people supporting her are even more unreasonable. (then again outrage mobs, "woke" or not, tend to be rather unreasonable)

I like the comparison to Chris, because Chris will tell you what he thinks but is also a team player and secure enough in his own abilities to not need to constantly try to "prove he's smarter" than everyone. If Rapoport had accidentally said Claire when speaking to carla or mistook Brad for Delaney, do you think this would have been overlooked? Because I sure as hell do. Just because they are two people of a similar culture or race doesn't mean shit, because at the end if the day it was still just an honest mistake. Get upset over the fact that Sohla didn't get paid for video appearances. Get upset over the fact that other BA members didn't speak out sooner. But getting incredibly upset over something like this is pathetic and childish

      The fact that he keeps calling it “cooking school” rubs me the wrong way too. Seems to show off his lack of culinary education by saying “cooking” instead of “culinary” idk. BA is a magazine for home cooks, so it makes sense to have non traditionally trained chefs sharing technique and developing recipes!

Also I feel like non traditionally trained cooks often are more creative and fun to watch because they are just doing what they enjoy without those restrictions from their culinary training.

Especially when he recreated Maangchi’s recipe and did all this French (I’m guessing?) technique when he just needed cook it all in one pot.

I meant that she feels safe bc at the end of the day, if she ever gets fired, her case for unlawful termination can actually go somewhere, and she won't be ignored.

      @@shelbyb9965 The one that really kills me is when he complimented Claire on the Hot Pockets by bringing down everything else she had done on the show. She and Amiel were laughing but out of awkwardness, because I'm sure it hurt Claire (who is already self-concious), and Amiel probably noticed that as well because it wasn't a very hearty laugh.
      I hope his time away from BA brings him redemption.

      That moment was so telling. I used to try to defend Rapoport and see him as someone who was out of step with his employees but trying to relate but when I saw that moment I kinda knew the game.

      john salvatore they’re pretty notorious for treating their interns/workers like trash, especially their workers of color. Even ones that appeared regularly in their popular videos. Some of them after leaving have expressed that they didn’t feel like their ideas and creativity was as valued as their white coworkers among similar issues.

    When he snapped at Andy, I understood that he failed to grasp why viewers love BA videos. Its the workplace setting, the people working in the background and their friendliness with each other. He was the opposite of that and disrupted the atmosphere.

      Not to mention Sohla being a master of nearly all aspects of cooking (pastry included, having Claire ask for advice) yet was underpaid ...
      I hope all the talent from BA jump ship and start their own media company and make CZcams videos keeping most of the profits for themselves. They are single handedly SAVING BA as printed media slowly goes bust, and theyre getting peanuts and Sohla getting 1 peanut

The third time, come on dude. If he was a sparkling individual I would let it go, but with all the other things he’s done, it becomes very very suspect

      @@christiansanders6242 That's quite common. If I remember correctly, people organise personal names by importances. So your mother would have placed her family members into the "important names" category. It's easy to accidentally recall the wrong name from this group. But if you're not close to the individual, you're going to be spending a few seconds recalling their name, so it's less common to swap names.
