Hey Eddy👍 The legend Tommy Cooper was born in Wales and was in the army before becoming a member of the magic circle and then using his tricks for comedy. You're right back in the 70s and 80s he was on TV a lot as a family favourite until his death which happened on live TV in 1984 with millions of viewers including me and my family believing it to be part of his act, everyone was laughing not knowing he was suffering a massive heart attack. His silly jokes and messed up tricks are always awesome. Cheers mate ✌️

One of the funniest men to ever draw breath & a flashing appearance of an impression of one of the funniest men who ever lived a generation earlier.

The gentleman walking behind him was a Oliver Hardy impersonator. The original was a very famous comedian with Stan Laurel in the black and white films.
Tommy Cooper had a holiday home in the town where live in Eastbourne.

The legendary Tommy cooper yeah such a great family entertainer, any age's could watch him and find him so funny. I actually do remember that night at the London palladium when he so sadly passed on😢😢😢😢😢😢. The greatest comedian/magician or visa versa his act was always so great because in one trick he could completely mess it up and then do another trick like a magician. But you could never tell which was going to happen. A Total genius, yeah the 60's, 70's, 80's where just comedy gold so many great shows. Eric and Ernie, the two Ronnie's regularly pulling in 20 million viewers and remember back then there was only about 60 million people in the UK that 1/3 of the population watched these shows. I watch these comdey genius and I'm in awe of these greats.

Tommy was a legend. My mum was a professional dancer and worked with him for a summer season. She said he was so lovely. She also worked with Morecambe and Wise (Eric and Ernie). Those 2 were amazing. Everyone waited all day to watch their xmas specials. They always took the pee out of Des O'Connor. Try the Morecambe and Wise show with the famous conductor Andre Previn or Preview as Eric kept calling him. Absolutely hilarious😂

Totally agree, as a kid I loved watching the Christmas special which was just as well as it was like a religion to watch Eric and Ernie. Like you say the Micky taking of poor Des was hilarious, my favourite 2 skits are the breakfast dance and André 'preview' Previn🤣👍

@martindunstan8043 they were hilarious weren't they? 😂. Mum knew them just before they were on tv. Apparently they were on the verge of packing it all in but decided to give it a go on tv. I adored them. Christmas wasn't the same after they stopped doing their Christmas specials.

@martindunstan8043 I also love Ernie's plays😂. All the famous actors and actresses queued up to go on their show. I loved the one Glenda Jackson did. Wasn't she meant to be Cleopatra?

Tommy Cooper was born in Wales but was brought up in the West Country (Exeter), hence his accent.

Daft, Daft, Daft. We loved him. You can't explain it. All he had to do was walk on stage and everyone laughed. Yes, old school, but still funny.

Hi Eddy, we all loved Tommy Cooper, he was so funny, sadly he did collapse on stage during a live televised show. We all thought it was part of his act, but it wasn’t, he had a fatal heart attack and died in front of everyone. Very very sad 😢

Oh man, I knew who this was off the thumbnail. He died preforming on stage, and it was being broadcast live. People thought it was part of the act and just sat laughing while he had a fatal heart attack. Look it up, a very sad but interesting story.

Eddy, at 4:50 into it, the chap in black walking behind him is Oliver Hardy (Laurel & Hardy), from the 1920's - 1950's. Hysterical slapstick comedy. (You looked confused, so I thought I'd Eddyfy you.)

Funny but not risque like today's full on and out to shock comedy. Don't get me wrong some modern comedy is funny but it goes too far at times. This age was controlled but it was still funny without the very foul language, Tommy Cooper, Les Dawson even Morecombe and Wise the moulds was not broken when they passed they were totaly destroyed we will never see thier likes again such a pity, this humour should be preserved before the woke start thier purge.
