These are fantastic. John Cleese and Michael Palin are excellent. Funny and great story tellers on their own even without any set ups or writing. Thanks Don.
Thank U for these videos!
Since 1986, I watch this movie, at least twice per year and still discovering the great value of this movie.
Quite good. Thanks very much.
They seem to play a lot of Beatles tunes during commercial breaks.
proudfootz they usually do when there is a British guest I think
"Taxman" by the Beatles (written by George Harrison, who put up money for "The Life of Brian" and several other Python-related projects)
5:25 For Your Love (Yardbirds)
Brilliant! Cleese has just completed a comic masterpiece in Clockwise and he hardly mentions it.
Sherry glasses 😂
I lol'ed at the bar joke.
These are so cool :)
When I worked with Cleese on a film, many years ago, he asked if I had seen Clockwise, I hadn't at the time, but, I had been trying to locate a copy to watch. He told me that he thought they had done it "right" up until the ending. I was bummed out that I wasn't able to discuss it with him because I hadn't found a copy of it. After getting one, I think his comment to me was correct.
If you've seen everything that Pythons have done check out Palin's Ripping Yarns , it's Palin unbridled
Ends the show, grabs his cigar, and takes off his suit jacket: 27:10
"...ghastly old bat."
Clockwise was a great movie vehicle for John Cleese
2:25 I love that they’re discussing the Westland Affair
Cheese invented Inward Talking, JB invented Inward Singing.
Its so funny how they just make point of talking about how much they hate Dave's show and how much you can see it getting under his skin.
1:52 John Cleese just predicted Terry Jones Dementia
Cleese could’ve made a fortune just reciting Shakespeare.
Cool to hear a very premature mention of Wanda in Jan 86.
Also he must have had his hair transplant in between this and Wanda as I'm sure he's got a nice full barnet in it!!
8:20 The patient in bed is played by legendary British actor Geoffrey Palmer (1927-2020), remembered for his famous role as Lionel Hardcastle on the long-running BBC comedy As Time Goes By with Dame Judy Dench.
I love Palin. I would love to work with him.
It's been an original mission of mine for some years to find references to Woody Allen and John Cleese together in the same piece of fiction, television appearance or other form of connection. This clip has proven a wonderful surprise with regards to this quest.
It's "Taxman" by The Beatles. Thanks sweet pickle, I can go to bed now knowing what the tune they were playing in honour of Cleese.
he was becoming the astute comedian he is today
Was the first Cleese segment recorded on January 28, 1986? That was the day of the Challenger explosion.
It was. Dave mentioned the explosion at the top of the show.
In 1986, John Cleese underestimated the British public here at 2:15 - He said they sussed out Margaret Thatcher. Yes, and the following year re-elected her with over a 100 seat majority in the House of Commons.
John Cleese advocating proportional representation 36 years ago.
We could've really done with that in the UK in the last 2 years.
Was it in Cleese's contract to not have any walk on music? Seems there's several things that come to mind that could be used.
Ouch. John jokes about Terry Jones not being to dress himself anymore. Little did he know that that would be his fate in the future (he has dementia now).
a small video camera in the 80's was gas powered.lol Soviets would love that./
Don't remember Kinnock and Tebbitt physically fighting
"Terry Jones can't dress himself any more" :(
40HZ white light at the eyes for 20 min daily. Infrared 810nm shone into the frontal lobes at 10HZ for 10 min every 3 days. After 3 weeks 50-60% better than before. This is no joke but not many are doing it yet.
Yeah that made me sad too since it's close to truth now.
Even sadder now :-(
@@graxjpg He passed away in January
1:53 oof
Ka ka ka Ken!
Hello limey fish!
Don't eat the green ones their not ripe yet
In Soviet Russia movie watches you!
It's a shame that john cleese wasn't a fan of clockwise. It's an hilarious movie, I've watched it with my parents and we both died laughing
Your mother smells of juniper, and your father smells of elderberries.
Teaching people to speak while inhaling? Brilliant. Aside from politicians, who is the target audience?
John Cheese 😁Prince Butter cup. No is Fawlty . Just John. Wonderful. A little bit of everything and everyone. Including Hotel management.
That bar scene from Cleese, I mean… pretty accurate, isn’t 😂 (I’m on the 156 level,m I guess, because of the Woody Allen’s movies )
Needs more Tawny
extremely sad when john makes the joke about "terry jones not being able to dress himself anymore" and now the poor guy cant recognize his friends of 50 years!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
English is not my native language. I did not pick up what Cleese said at the end of the NY Bar IQ joke..."what are we going to talk about..." "I don´t know... have you been ?????? recently"???
"Have you been to any auditions lately?" (implying they are both actors)
@@deederange ha, thank you. Now that you said it, it sounds quite clear. Know those "you can´t unsee it" memes? Like that, but "can´t unlisten it" lol.
