- I am fishing with a mini trout magnet. Can I catch a crappie? Today I am fishing with a Realistic rig and a mini magnet. It consists of a pinch on sinker added below the lure. I like to use at least an 8 inch tag line. I try the provided jig head as well as a small bait hook. I also add a small amount of pro cure scent for a little bit more confidence. I easily catch a variety of fish from the bank. But can I catch that illusive crappie? Maybe try fishing with a Mini Magnet, you just might be surprised when you catch a big crappie. #fishing #notsponsored

Crappie are one of the most underrated fish out there. They're feisty and put up a nice fight for their size. Plus they're delicious to boot. I'd rather catch a big slab crappie than a 2-3 lb largemouth. They usually have a better overall fight to them. And it's even better when you catch one when you're not targeting them.
Perfect time of the year to go after the Crappie and Bluegills with a trout magnet. Love using the magnet around brush tops for crappie.

Really neat video! I remember you using one of these before in a video or two in the past and really cool how you put it on a drop shot, I’ve used one of these before but in a duel hook rig, works pretty good! Glad you where able to catch that crappie and it’s always good to catch the bluegill this time of the year! Glad your back is getting better and better and hope for a final recovery soon! @@RealisticFishing I’ve used the regular trout magnets in creeks and rivers. You should give those tiny ones a shot in a little creek too!

I just picked up some white mini magnets along with the mini magnet craws to try out also. Once it warms up a bit in KY. Ordered them from bass pro.

I was considering rigging up a TM that way the other day, I don’t like what adding a split shot above the lure does to the action and they are hard to cast with much distance on their own.

I've been wanting to try the trout magnets out, however, every store in my area have sold out. Guess I'll have to order some online.
Yeah, that might be your best bet
they are the best for me cuz fish small ponds and rarely any large lakes or rivers but when I do I always use trout magnet first then chatterbaits
They're definitely worth the money. You can get a kit for $8-12 on Amazon and can be fished a bunch of ways. I actually prefer the Trout Magnet Trout Slayers. They look like tiny crawdads. Fantastic for streams and small rivers, but I'd imagine they could be successful in lakes and ponds too.
White with the silver jigheads slay for me in the northeast (PA)...highly recommend that setup of TM

That crappie was nice! I got out on Friday, we had a 60 plus degree day here in Pittsburgh. Got out with 3.5 Yum pulse minnow on 1/16 oz jig, smallies were biting, good times! Thanks for your videos! KIR!

The Gulp Minnows and Trout Magents are absolute killer baits for me. I caught my pb smallmouth(2 pounder) on a gulp minnow. They are armazing baits.

Hold on Alex you can tie the drop weight to the shank of the hook. I do it all the time and the hook eye is clean and free to tie on the Main line and the hook sit straight and clean every cast maybe have to reset after catching a fish. But still awesome stuff Alex

I usually use another hook to slowly open up the hole. Sometimes they're painted over. Nice work out there brother!

I have a pack of those trout magnet baits I bought cheap and they do catch trout. I throw them for native brook trout in some of the streams near me.

There is this one creek where in the spring I can go to the mouth where it meets the river and catch tons of nice pan sized shell crackers. They are there usually, but for two or three weeks you can catch them like crazy when they come in near the banks to spawn.
