For decades, Cooper's has been considered one of the quintessential BBQ joints in Texas. If you want to have credibility in any conversation about BBQ road trips, then you better have taken a trip to Cooper's in Llano. It's a special place.

I've eaten at many many BBQ places in Texas. No one does it better then "Heavy's BBQ" in Hondo,Tx. Their prices are extremely reasonable.
Butters BBQ in Sinton, Texas is a close second but their prices are way to high, and they only open on fri,sat,and Sunday.
THe only way to judge BBQ in Texas is GO to BBQ joints in Texas. Sinton, Hondo and a kajillion others.
Expensive but really good. Love their brisket sandwiches no sauce . Pretty dang good

Go to Llano and try that Cooper's -- others are not as good as this. Fancier, but not as good.

Thank you for all the work y’all do supporting our towns in our great state! You did leave off the primary menu item that makes Llano Coopers a (no the) GOAT which is the cabrito…goat. Only place i know that serves it and a great reason to add it to the BBQ day trip list.

Cooper's is good but you have to be extremely cautious on the brisket pieces they will put on your plate. Half of it may be pure fat.
The wet end or the point? That’s the good part. The flat is for children. Anyways if you want the lean part and all they have left is the marbled part they will go get another brisket. That’s on you if you don’t know how to order.
Exactly, I go to Black's for my brisket. Coopers is hit or miss with theirs. Sometimes you'll get a whole slab of fat, with barely any meat on it.
Although, nobody beats coopers pork ribs. It's heaven. Luckily, I live in New Braunfels and Black's and Coopers are right next to each other.
I always stop at both to take home and get the best of both worlds.
@jexes23 people just have different tastes. Me personally, I want all the fatty meat. Meanwhile my mom will refuse to eat fat on meat. She'll sit there and pick every little piece of fat off before she eats it.
Yeah we went with a friend who got mainly fat...they replaced it .
I'm from llano and the locals still eat there because there is no creosote on the BBQ. And you can eat it every day.

I make pork chops very much like Cooper's at home.
The one in New Braunfels isn't very good at all, in my opinion. I much prefer City Market in Luling or Black's in Lockhart.
Both solid. The only Cooper's worth eating at is the one in Llano.

Cooper’s in Mason, Texas is waaaaay better. They’re not related or owned by the same people. The Cooper’s in Llano is okay. Last time I was there it felt like the entire restaurant needed a bath
Nah if that place is related to the Cooper’s in fort worth I hope is better because the one in funky town is gawd awful
All the spinoffs are bad. The one in NB the one in Junction. They’re both terrible. The one in Llano is the only one to go to.
@@jexes23 bruh I went to Billy bobs and I had time to kill and they served me the worst bbq I’ve had. I kid you not I threw all of it in the trash except the Mac n cheese. It was gawd awful
@@jexes23 I live in NB and you're right, our location isn't the best. But the pork ribs are always on point. It's really the only thing I get there now.
I go to Black's for my brisket. They're right next to each other, so I always stop at both. Black's for the beef and Coopers for the pork.
The one in FW is not worth going to. It's really bad.
@@brucemcglasson yeah ive been here once and it was enough for me not to go back, waaaay over priced and it wouldnt have been too bad if the food wasnt soo bad.

My opinion: Very pricey and not as good as hyped. I won’t waste my money there again.
