Where I wish I knew more is with respect to ground preparation and foundations. Maybe that's beyond the scope of Ryan's Shed Plans.

Wowsa. I’m shocked, stunned and completely pleasantly surprised by your videos of Off Grid w/Jake and Nicole. I watched this 10 hour show as one of my firsts, as it was similar to another series I was watching. I decided to go back to the beginning of your life together as you arrive at Komorebi. I’m at the 2 years ago mark which shows making of the toilet and showing you going to Pacific Yurts. I can’t believe there are haters and non-believers. I’ve been there, living off grid, done a bit of that when my parents bought an A frame house on over 150 acres, no running water, electricity, any services. It was quite the adventure. I was going into grade 5 so about 10 years old, for a couple of years and two farms homesteads (sold one, went to the next) we lived without power, water and gas for about 2 years and then the rest was variations of yes, we now had power, but the pet lamb we had ate the insolation around the well so the pump froze. Oh I could go on but you’ve been there (not the -30 Canadian winter, wind blowing to drop the windchill even lower) but you’ve experienced winter that one day where they couldn’t remember how long it had been since they got that much snow that fast and others since, I’m sure!! Take care and i will comment once I’m done so you see them. A little late but congratulations!!!

My husband and I live in the province of Quebec and we are hoping the municipality will accept our project of having a yurt to live in full time starting this summer! Not many places accept yurts but we are keeping our fingers crossed. I also want a summer kitchen with a pizza oven (part of my many projects). How cold does it get where you are? What are your fears about forest fires? What do you do for bathing; running, heated water? How much time do you spend cutting wood and carrying it back for storage?

With your new house, have you thought about putting in radiant heat in the floors with an outside wood powered boiler? How are your highrise solar panels doing? I could chat for ages, so many ideas. Your place is so so beautiful! It’s impressive all that you were able to do in 4 years! It’s obvious you two are very talented people! My husband and I live in the province of Quebec and we are hoping the municipality will accept our project of having a yurt to live in full time starting this summer! Not many places accept yurts but we are keeping our fingers crossed. I also want a summer kitchen with a pizza oven (part of my many projects). We’ll keep watching your videos to get inspired and have an idea how to do things if the yurt is a go! Thanks for sharing! ❤

How cold does it get where you are? What are your fears about forest fires? What do you do for bathing; running, heated water? How much time do you spend cutting wood and carrying it back for storage?
Really loved the tour. You've come so far. I'm glad the bed is back in the yurt. Studio is a much better idea for the bunky. With your new house, have you thought about putting in radiant heat in the floors with an outside wood powered boiler? How are your highrise solar panels doing? I could chat for ages, so many ideas.
