    Mine fried! yellow circuit board glue very common but there is a YT vid that’s shows precisely what happened to mine
    This water based yellow adhesive becomes caustic and conductive
    According to the vid
    And upon opening my ups after a Smokey failure I did find 3 areas of yellow glue turned brown, bubbled areas that had fused across the board, bummer

      If I understood correctly this unit will accept plugs with only two blades and no grounding pin.

    Great review. Thank you so much. Question, so the fact you unplugged and the PSU on your PC continued to work shows the true sine wave was working right? Also Costco online has 4 different CP brand models. Eliminating the 1350, that leaves 3. I think one was not true sine wave. Why did you chose this one over the other? I need to buy one and Costco seems to offer the best price to value and feature set. Also, I read about fires with the CP units. Any thoughts on that?

    • @cfldriven
      @cfldriven  Před 11 měsíci +1

      JE, thank you for watching. Unplugging the PSU and the PC continuing to work only proves that the UPS is working correctly. To prove the it is a true sine wave output would require an oscilloscope. The reason for choosing this unit over others brands was true sine wave output, price, tech support, the amount of info avail on display monitor and warranty. You are correct about Costco selling both true sine wave and non true sine wave UPS, I almost bought the wrong one and had to go to Costco online for the correct version. As to issue of the glue failing and causing a fire there is no consumer recall and no conclusive proof there is an issue. The units are UL certified for safety. Good luck w your UPS search.

Interestingly, the same model # now shows a color display on cyberpower's web site. You'd think they'd use a different model # for newer units, or something to designate a version update.

    Please tell me, does this UPS have GREEN POWER technology? This function shuts down the UPS when there is a light load connected to it. If this feature exists, can it be disabled?

    • @cfldriven
      @cfldriven  Před 6 měsíci

      This UPS has a Energy Star rating due in part to "GreenPower UPS Bypass Design". Under normal use utility power bypasses the transformer thus reducing noise, heat and energy use. This is a built-in feature and can not by disabled. Help this info helps. Thank you for watching.

    • @cfldriven
      @cfldriven  Před 6 měsíci

      @@CHarvelCHannel The reason to have your PC on UPS is during a power outage while your pc is running unattended (rendering, uploading, etc) the UPS when connected to the PC will safely shut it down. If the pc is in sleep there no way for the ups to communicate with it. I have two monitors and only the main one is on the ups, the other is just on the surge side of ups. If you leave monitor in standby mode it will continue to receive power until the battery runs-down.

    • @cfldriven
      @cfldriven  Před 2 měsíci +1

      Garth, thank you for that great reminder. In our case the Rheem tankless draws less than 2 amps which is well within the limits of the CyberPower. One should always compare the amp and wattage draw of all devices to make sure they don't exceed what the power supply can safely handle.

    • @garthzader
      @garthzader Před 2 měsíci

      @@cfldriven thought it might have been a joke. Hard to believe that under a load of so much immediate heat/energy (enough for a hot shower) only 2 amps is drawn. Double digit power draw, amps, while under load is not uncommon with most tankless water heaters. Some over larger systems can peak in the triple digits. You must have an efficient unit. Or possibly 2 amps is only while at idle?? Be safe.
