That is actually a great story Trent, your modest no ego comments show the sort of guy you are and a safe flyer too despite your off road adventures, the fact that you want to check back on your training says a lot and we are all learning too, what a great idea getting your instructor down for the day in his Cessna 180 ,now he has dirtied his big tyres perhaps he will join up with you for more off airfield landings, you found your way in a simple aeroplane doing things you never dreamed of,keep up the beautifully done videos which are a credit also to your skills in that department, onward and upward always for Trent !

For somebody who started off with that outlook, you do a heck of a job making it look like you enjoy it 😀. I’ve been a long time BCP wanna be and have recently cleared some hurdles to get back at it. Your videos and your zeal for flying are really helping me get pumped about getting back in the air. Hoping to finally make HSF this year but we’ll see. Thanks again for great content Trent

Great story Trent. I love flying and was well on my way to a private pilots license, but then I high-sided my motorcycle and was flung head first into a tree, Unfortunately for me this resulted in brain injury that finished my flying. I can't multitask anymore and everything happens too fast for me and I genuinely feel unsafe, so no more flying for me :( I love your channel and think that bush flying is awesome. keep up the good work.

Talking to Jake at work whenever I was around him sure has made me want this even more after I had seen his videos which lead me to yours. Been wanting to fly since (1981) my second summer west of Fairbanks near Manley Hot Springs Alaska. Gold mining up there and so wanted to do this, but life women and kids came first. My turn. Just bought the online school so here I go.

Once I get my pilots license I’m going to make a video how I got into flying, and it’s just going to be a bunch of links to your videos. lol Thank you so much for the inspiration! I’m 33, own my own business, and have always dreamt of flying. For now it’s remote control planes. Being a pilot always seemed like such an unobtainable goal, so far-fetched and out there. Your videos bring the idea of a pilot into the real world for a lot of us. With with the light sport aircraft classification training hours and cost to become a pilot drop significantly, along with kit planes such as yours. As a trained mechanic and builder, the idea of building a plane is absolutely amazing! However, it always seems so boring to just fly between municipal airports and the like for that $100 hamburger. The way you allow us to all explore bush and back country flying makes becoming and being a pilot so much more exciting. What you do is what I would want to do as a pilot; get out there and explore! You bring what I used to think as a nebulous dream right into my living room, and remind me at least once a week what I’m working so hard for. 😎 Thanks Trent 👌🏼👍🏼🤙🏼
    Chad Alpha Pilot for sure

Thanks man! Glad I could help you get motivated to get into it!! The one thing is I would recommend getting your full private certificate even if you only plan on flying a light sport plane, it just gives you a lot more options down the road. And even though 20hrs is the requirement for Sport, most still don’t take checkride until they are at the 40-60hr mark, so might as well just go full private!

I wanted to fly since I was 4 and my uncle who was a mechanic got me to sit in a brand new DC-8 jet and told them I was going to fly when I got “big”. So when I was 16, I went for a intro ride and was hooked. Then my first several hours of instruction I was pretty timid or afraid due to all the turbulence. But as soon as I was on the ground I couldn’t wait to feet back up in the air.

Great background on your path to becoming a pilot. Becoming a pilot changes your life (which sounds obvious) but the change is profound, something that is more than a label, it makes you something different. My biggest challenge with students are those who do not come to lessons prepared, they expect to be spoon feed, and as such, they are and will never be any good. I have learned to let these students go. To be a pilot, a safe one, a competent one, you have to want it, work at it, and be willing and able to push through doubt, fears, and challenges. Keep up the great work.

I gotta say, I really don't like vlogs, but yours I watch. Why? It's not just because of the aviation, but you clearly put some serious thought into production quality. High quality footage and you intersperse your talking to the camera (which is natural but also succinct) with eye-catching shots of the things around you. All of this is MUCH more interesting to watch than someone just rambling for 20 minutes in their bedroom. Just as well, you keep it short and sweet--under nine minutes but we learn plenty about the topic of the video.
    Great work, really!

HA! You just described me. I fly drones but have the part 107 FAA Certification. So I was not required to get the full ticket. BUT hate heights, hate flying, especially taking off. But I have a lifelong love of airplanes. I always wondered if I was in control, I would be able to overcome my phobia. Thanks for the video.

Unless I missed it, what about how you got your plane? Let's hear that story! Also, do you ever fly with huskys? I recently moved to the town where they are made. It would be interesting to see you flying with one.

The town where they're made? Dude, get a male and female husky together in any town, and they will make huskys right there!!

@@elliotwhitworth8239 Oh dear. You just walked right into that one, didn't you.
Anyway, thanks for trying to help, it means you're a good person, and I'm a real *insert bad name here* for confusing you. Sorry.

I love your videos! How many hours do you have in the kit fox? TV/Film & Aviation, great mix. Me too.

Nice story Trent, though not the typical reason to get into being a pilot it is interesting just the same so thanks for sharing. A classy video made better with a 180 in it! Keep up the great work.

I used Sporty's for PPL and MZeroA for IFR... I'd recommend MZeroA over Sporty's any day of the week. Passed my IFR written with a 90, didn't get anywhere close to that on PPL.

That’s awesome. I really want to get into them to but they are still very expensive. I’m looking into amphibians tho since I do a lot of fishing. Are you able to put floats on the bush planes?
