  • The IMX290 sensor of SV305 camera has very high QE and very low (0.7e-) read noise; which improved sensitivity in the visible-light and near infrared light regions for industrial applications. Thanks John Mackenzie for sharing his video.

Hi, I was wondering if I could get some help. I have set all my settings and played with them a lot, focused my camera and nothing is working. All it shows is a black screen and the occasional rbg dots. I need help to fix this, and I will take anything right about now.

I would highly surprised if you didn’t lose the cap on the Barlow, inside the telescope. As I watched you insert it, I was like “Nonono”.

Is a notebook necessary or a simple laptop will work too?

I also own the SV305, and last summer, I used an old laptop with Linux and astrodmx software to capture some great Jupiter recordings. However, since purchasing a new laptop with Windows 11 last week, I'm only getting grayscale images when I select RAW16 mode in SharpCap. I'm unsure how to resolve this issue, especially since I can see clearly in your video that you're using the RAW16 mode in SharpCap as well.

@@Fahad-yj8vv Choosing the RAW image mode implies that the image hasn't undergone debayering yet, so it appears in black and white. To restore the color information, debayering the image is necessary. I utilized Siril software for both debayering and stacking, and everything is functioning correctly now.

CCD? It stands for Charge-Coupled Device which is what makes the camera work to gather light.

The two images at the end look like coloured pencil drawings. Really not a good look for SVBony. They simply do not look like real photographs, they have been poorly processed.

    • @PeterK6502

The unprocessed images I captured using the same camera appear better than his final image.
It is likely that he used an excessive amount of wavelets to enhance the image, resulting in an overly cartoony appearance.
