To be fair Joyce Kim was using him for access/information, Leslie at the time didn't want anything serious and Penny hadn't been worn down enough at this point, also the problem wasn't so much Stephanie leaving Leonard as it was Leonard trying to end things, sure she might of been moving too fast for him, but not sure that's really relevant considering Leonard had already planned out his children with Penny, plus Stephanie was able to get Sheldon to shut up with some medical excuse so that's a big plus.
