    I keep businesscards in 'Keep' : I take a picture of the businesscard and archive it; searching works even on text in images... spectacular!

    A little trick that I discovered with Keep is that you can paste the links from Google map routes in a note and Keep will build a graphical link to the route. You can then delete the url if you want to keep only the graphical link. It’s a great way to save multi stop trip routes that you might want to use over and over again.

      I use keep since it launce many years ago.
      One thing I still waiting from Google keep is find a word on note, like "ctrl+F" on Google sheet.
      Sometime is difficult to fine a word even you remember the keyword, especially on stressful situation.

    Great review of Keep! I use it a lot. My favorite thing is to share to Keep. If I want to save a web page for reference, click on the 3 dots in the upper right corner, choose save, then choose Keep. It saves a new note with the website link. I can then add tags to categorize it as a recipe, health info, gift idea, etc.

      @@FlippedClassroomTutorials The feature is a game changer. If you use keep as a todolist, you set your main tasks on the homescreen. The routines appear when the reminder calls them and do not bother befor.

    I love Keep for multiple reason. Used it for sharing links & notes with my sister, we both are different OS users (I’m iOS, she’s Android) and we live 15,000km apart! But thanks to Keep we instantly were notified. And reason №9 is so useful! Great list! Thanks for sharing!

    Okay, I have a silly question because I'm not sure if I'm doing the right thing or not. I am going to get a new phone and open my gmail account in it, I'm a very active user of keep notes but I'm afraid I'll lose all of the things I've stored in it when I open it on the new phone. Please tell me I'm wrong and I'll still have my notes since the app is synced with my gmail.

    Thanks for the clear and instructive presentation. Is keep secure? can you store sensitive information?

    • @FlippedClassroomTutorials
      @FlippedClassroomTutorials  Před 5 lety

      Hi, thank you for your question. Keep is definitely secure. However, it does connect to your Google account as do other Google apos. This means it is only as secure as your account ia. Once aomebody has your google password they will be in unless you have 2-step verrification switched on, which I always recommend! That veing said, Google as a company is very secure against breaches as they actually have a bounty for anyone who finds a way in. So make sure you have a strong, unique password, 2 step turned on and add secirity codes/face id or fingerprints to your mobile devices.

    I use Google Keep a lot. I find it has some drawbacks in search. It doesn't show my previous search phrases in drop down list while searching.
    Second, the search phrase is not highlighted in Yellow if it is somewhere below in the Note.

      The Keep platform is still very much the same. Hopefully we will see even more updates in 2020 really pushing this platform. My biggest two tips would be to use the images to sort and organise your notes as well as pinning notes you need quick access to. Hope this helps.

    Why? Oh Why Did they send google "note to self" to the graveyard. I use to be able just press the microphone on the google tool bar and the note would go to my gmail address. Not only do they not have this any longer, there is no option not to use google assistant. I don't need all this business. Though you did a wonderful job on the tutorial. Thank you for your video.

    I am worried about the fact that Keep places your items on its £Desktop£ which means that if somebody opens your Google Keep they can see your items, is there anyway of storing items in folders and a blank desktop, or password protecting keep?

  • @jonymilanezz
    @jonymilanezz Před 2 lety

    There are some cons I see in using Google keep. The notes on the main screen have no timestamp, and that is a real turn down. You have to open the note, and even there you will only get the last time it was edited, not created.
    There is no way to format and embellish the notes you take. No underline, bold, fonts or whatsoever. These are the main cons I remember. I really regret google keep for not being like Notes app from Xiaomi. The problem with notes (Xiaomi) is that you get stuck in the Xiaomi world. ( I guess)

    • @FlippedClassroomTutorials
      @FlippedClassroomTutorials  Před 2 lety

      I have to say I agree with the cons you mention here. I use Keep for specific things and if I'm honest mainlybfor my work(teaching) its great in that scenario. I also use Google Tasks a lot for my day to day to do lists. And maybe interestingly, am a bog OneNote user for anything that requires more planning, editing and formatting. Thank you for sharing your experiences. I might make a follow up video on how I personally use Keep, Task,ls, and OneNote in my daily flow
