Why wouldn't they animate this whole scene and put it at the beginning rather than make you listen through an entire taping?
I’m thinking the same thing it’s the classic forgetting the show rather then tell rule applies here
So they can steal 10 hours of your life searching for these stupid audio-logs.
They couldn't animate because it doesn't make any sense. Animation only makes the senselessness more obvious.
Coz lazy and requires imagination n effort. Just look at the game
Because animation cost MONEY!!!!
If the League were actually smart they would've just brought guns, Brainiac's kryptonite apparently.
Lmaooo
😂😂😂
You wouldn't think batman would have a backup plan for that. Even if he's still adjusting to the justice league
hahaha spot on lol
@@nemesisprime4501Batman refuses to use guns which is why he lost lmao
Feels forced for the sake of plot. Why’d they ALL need go to talk to Brainiac? You’d think one representative would’ve been fine while the others stand by.
Are they stupid?
@@wesleypitts3787fr since Superman’s lame ahh was the only one who wanted to negotiate he should’ve went up there himself
Or demand that he come down from his ship and negotiate on their terms, rather than going to the strange, skull-shaped ship without knowing its capabilities or his intentions.
I think they don’t really do that whole “go alone typa thing” They say they are stronger together, so when’s big skull ship appears they are all gonna probably go to see what’s up
Why they even talk to brainiac, i dont think this is the first time they faced brainiac either and even if they didn’t its a freaking floating skull
"Hey let's bury the answer to a huge obvious question in a boring audio tape that has you stare at a pause screen during it! What an incredible gaming experience!"
This should have been animated 10000% this the only thing that had my interest
Ancient magical technology of getting tapes run while you go busting people as Batman was lost 😢.
And they go into an obvious trap. Lol.
@@WolfyboiRTCT this is the exact same plot of justice league apocalypse war…
lazy lazy lazy. What happened in the time between Arkham Knight and Suicide Squad is a far more compelling story than what we got. But it's blatantly obvious in the design of this game that creating a live service looter shooter structure took precedent over everything else, presumably due to a corporate mandate. The game wasn't made for us.
Dude, what’s up with the awkward pause in between quotes? It doesn’t sound like a real conversation. It feels like voice actors who recorded their lines on different planets
it feels like an afterthought, or a last-minute recording session. its such a shame, too! one of the few good parts of this game is the banter between the suicide squad, and how naturally they sound taking shots at one another.
They couldn't be bothered to go into these audio clips and just edit the dead air out make it snappier...
It’s called listening to someone and giving a thoughtful reply
They probably were recorded during the pandemic and most likely from thier homes, which was standard at the time. Its hard to play off another person who isnt there.
So bottom line, the entire justice league gets captured and brainwashed because… Superman and Green Lantern are naive idiots? And we find all this out through audio diaries? That’s some top quality writing there, rocksteady. Truly…
How did it happen o dont get it how did they get brainwashed
Nah it just that they thought they still had plot amour. Their plot amour got nerf to the ground
Yes. They are native, they don't really know about brainiac. They know its dangerous, but not how dangerous.
@@bernardgopfert9162 how did he brainwashed them i didnt understand it?
Whoever wrote Superman really fumbled that bag.... there's NO way he'd be that naïve. His dialogue just feels wrong on so many levels. Hell the dialogue for most, if not all these characters just feels wrong. What a mess this whole thing is.
Finally someone said it. Superman is optimistic and very hopeful, but he’s smart enough to see such an obvious red flag, and wouldn’t let his feelings get in the way approaching a potential threat to the lives of others accordingly.
Honestly... the dialogue during those recordings for Batman didn't sound right.
Well he did it in war of apocalypse
Clearly you are forgetting dark apocolypse war and the time he got tricked by darkseid in the animated series.
You beat me to it. Even a baby could see how naive this superman was. He was so trusting and I guess wanted his planet back. What a lazy writing
Superman: "we should walk headfirst into a clear and obvious trap so people still like us."
Superman acting like a scummy politician yet again
This is what happens when writers dont understand the characters... or dont care. No version of Superman is this naive. And whats with the League all calling Superman Kal? His name is Clark. The only members who call him Kal are Wonder Woman and Martian Manhunter
Well, I would assume the reason is because the others don’t know Clark’s identity other than Bruce at least that is what I would think.
you say that about a guy who got tricked by Darkseid in Justice League/Justice league unlimited like 3-4 times....
Kal is her name...
@@arcanumz8352 Her? You me his name.
@arcanumz8352 first Kal is his Kryptonian name, he doesn't go by that name on Earth except for his nonhuman team mates. Second darkseid is only in justice league/unlimited 2 times and only outsmarts superman once and it was with brainiac's help. Third in dark apokolips war batman and wonder woman the league's best strategists sign off on supermans plan. Darkseid played them all. Anything else
this whole situation feels so out of character for them, bruce would never go into this situation without a plan and i highly doubt superman would be THAT naive to just go onto the ship and hope for the best lol it’s like they wrote the plot the night the homework was due
Actually this is in-character for Superman, he is really that stupid most of the time.
@@TheBatman39his iq is 64x higher than average human and he can think at super human speed…
@mrfilmreviewcriticman4110 but he is essentially invulnerable so his confidence that he can fix the situation if it goes bad plays a role.

I’m glad they added this - when the clips first dropped I was thinking “ how did they get Bruce to participate in all this?”
Wow this has to be the stupiest way for the team to get brainwashed. Superman and GL really thought walking into a giant skullship was a good idea my lord
I understand green lantern but Superman no he wouldn’t want to risk the people he might do a screen call but not in person GL since he’s part of the green lanterns he’s used to alien life so he’s a little more comfortable with diplomacy with aliens also I find it dumb that his will power just didn’t help him in his brain wash stuff not working against him but hey I guess he has no will 🤷♂️
@@caidenhanson4440 I think Brainiac might’ve reprogrammed the ring at some point during the process considering it had its anti-kill function disabled and didn’t fly off John’s finger when he died
youve got hindsight bias lol. Your perception is based on the continuous portrayal of movies and tv shows of skull being dangerous. Those shows might not exists in their universe, we're talking about a world where Clarks co-workers cant distinguish him from Superman even though the only difference is hes wearing glasses.
@@MaxBlightBro that is the dumbest excuse i’ve heard so far😂
@@ultimatedoug964 excuses? go look up "hindsight bias", and youll realize its not an excuse but a comprehension of reality. Youre talking as an outsider, not comprehending that theyre living the story youve read/watched.
Its only dumb to you because you lack the brain power to realize the difference reading about the world war 1 & 2 and living during the world war 1 & 2 are 2 different things.
And this is their explanation to why the entire Justice League gets *irreversibly* brainwashed? Superman convinces everyone to walk into a hostile skull-shaped spaceship? And Batman concurs? Writing in this game is beyond bad, what a damn shame
Know what would have possibly suited better? Superman goes in alone(or he doesn’t even go in and Brainiac attacks first using kryptonite), since it’s his city and he needs to figure out the threat, Brainiac one way or another gets the drop on him, brain washes him, and then uses him as a catalyst to get each of the others and turn them, whether it’s by using Superman to do so with force, or by having him call them up individually with messages like “Hey, I could use some help” or this and that. Would make way more sense anyhow, especially seeing as how the freaking Suicide Squad could beat Brainiac directly but apparently the League couldn’t. Doesn’t matter if it was a trap and he could have been ready for them, he should have been ready for the Squad as well, but they somehow managed to beat him where Earth’s most powerful heroes could not(none the less five of them compared to the Squad’s four). Poor writing indeed.
More intrigued in these audio logs than the whole game
Facts. I’m not going to lie hearing how close they were in these logs.
Makes me mad rocksteady didn’t make this a justice League game
Batman wouldn't have gone into the ship, he would have stayed back to plan for something exactly like that. Realistically, only Lantern and Supes should have fallen to Brainiac assuming Flash still saved Diana(strategically the smartest choice if Batman stayed back like he would and should have). If the writing was done more accurately to the comic characters, then they might have been able to save them, but ironically they would have had to "kill" them as well by like having a machine stop their hearts then restart it, kind of like rebooting the system. But it is what it is. I think they ultimately went this route because Conroy passed away and he was the voice of Batman in the Arkham series and maybe the are trying to reboot Earth-1 all together
It shouldve been justice league game, marvel flopped so dc had opportunity to cash in and make a hit but ... wtf were they thinking making a fckm game like this ?
Superman wouldn't be that dumb to fell.for that and even if he does, Batman would've stayed back. They did them both dirty.
Youve got some insane head canon logic lol. We just gonna ignore that Owlman is a variation of Batman, and that dudes a major pushover by Ultraman?

I think the developers did not understand the point of Audio Tapes in the Arkham Series. It was meant to be something secret and hidden, developing some characters and villains. It used to be cool. The fact they put major infos in tapes simply does not work in this case.
Superman sounds like a big dum dum and hopelessly naive.
Lesson one never listen to Superman

Why wouldn't they just show us how the justice league was taken? probably to avoid backlash cause they would've gotten caught in some poorly executed way thanks to the writers of the game..
Braniac probably used that Freeze thing to keep the league still, most of them anyways.
As said, kryptonite is probably used in some way to keep Clark still.
But you're right, why couldn't they just give us a visual of some kind?
u do realize that this happens in all arkham games like in knight we never saw important parts as well like the villains meeting or oracle seeing jason alive for the first time.

Man, hearing the league having normal conversations and building friendships makes me wish this game was the obvious thing it should have been if WB just had to make a live service DC game. Especially with the obvious attraction of Arkham Batman as a playable character, how they landed on this idea before a Justice league game will boggle my mind for a long time.
Give me a story where the Justice League helps Batman recover his Legacy, or at least have Gotham Knights actually take place after Arkham Knight.
That’s the thing they didn’t. Rocksteady wanted to make a Superman game after Arkham knight and zen shot that down. They proposed a jl game and Wb shot that down. Then rocksteady landed on ss since they were relevant. Unfortunately at this point most of the original staff had left
Wow, to write that as the way they get taken over is just... You have to overlook and ignore so much.
They made the league seem like retards like wtf...
Every single time that Superman calls the shots.....🤣
There's no way in hell Bruce of all people would go onto that ship, he'd stay in the Watchtower ready to teleport them all out in a heartbeat if necessary but no fucking way he'd give anyone an opportunity to grab the whole league, what lazy writing 😂
How the hell.can batman teleport them away? Only doctor strange can do that
I hate how they characterized superman and the whole league here. I also hate how they keep referring to Clark as Kal-el as if Kal is what superman calls himself. Goddamn you Zack Snyder and other bad comic book writers for ruining peoples perception of Superman. I’m looking at you Apokalipse War
They wrote him like he's Goku 🙄
Not all Supermans arrival into earths the same lol. The same reason why theres a supermans comic where kryptonians were trying to take over the universe.
yeah and i hate this one
@@MaxBlight
What a stupid plot. Never in a million years would the JL be that stupid to trust Brainiac.
Wait.....how did he brainwash them? Through the comics many villains have tried to brainwash them but met various difficulties. Superman with his force of will and kryptonian physiology can throw off even Darkseid's brainwashing given some time. The Green Lantern's ring protects a Green Lantern Corp member from psychic attacks, nanotech infestation, and mind control (Would be problematic if the Lantern Corp members could be controlled after all), and where is the Martian Manhunter? He is the most powerful Psychic of the Martian Race (their Xavier), and can easily neutralize mind control (Has done it in the past for some heroes who got taken control).
Let’s be honest mate they obv went “suicide squad vs the justice league? Great idea let’s do that!” Then didn’t even think about how until bout 40 mins before they had to release
Was it established in the Arkham verse that Martian Manhunter is a member of the league and/or even exists? Or youre going with the assumption that hes always there, because Martian the manhunter isnt always a member of the league.
Superman, Batman, Aquaman, the Flash, Green Lantern, the Martian Manhunter, and Wonder Woman are the seven founding members of the Justice League in the original comics, I cannot think of a setting where that is not the case off the top of my head. Why have a game with "Justice League" in the name.....if you are going to trim down the founding members from the original comics? And this game seems to take place shortly after the Justice League was founded.@@MaxBlight

So this universe has egomaniacal Brainiac and incompetent Justice League....way to go Rocksteady
😂 I picture Nathan Drake talking to Batman since there’s no visuals of superman and so used to Nolan North voice from the iconic Uncharted games.
I remember when superman wanted to make the whole JL give themselves in and be arrested by the government and Batman’s precise words were “ This is the single dumbest plan i’ve ever heard” . Good times …
That’s the exact scene I was thinking when I heard their plan lol.
At least there was no real actual danger there since they were in a normal prison and basically the guards were we cannot hold them if they want to leave anyway. Here they went straight to an alien ship they had no idea of braniac's intentions or capabilities.
They should’ve just made another Batman Arkham game and have Batman deal with the league and brainiac
The golden rule of writing/storytelling: "Show don't tell", WTF Rocksteady! Injustice 2 opening did that perfectly.
Nice one, Supes. Reminds of the Conroy's Batman quote in JLU:
'Next time I let Superman take charge, just hit me real hard!'
A big rule of game design is to show, not tell.
I’ve had qualms about the endless amounts of “extra lore” hidden in “lost tapes”. If you can’t show it, why tell it?
Because Metal Gear Solid V did it and if Kojima does it then anyone can do it.
There are times when it can work really well to be fair. Like in Mass Effect, where lore entries about certain races or concepts will actually update based on events in the games, so you get to understand more and more as time goes on. Especially in ME2 as a large part of the plot is understanding who the Collectors are and were. And it’s also pitched to you as the crew of the Normandy are the ones updating this information and it’s contained in its computers. So it makes sense as extra lore, it’s there if you want it and you can use it if something isn’t clear. Or you can play through the entire game and not care.
They should make a comic mini-series or animation on these video tapes' events.
This story is like a bad fucking dream man holy shit it gives me tremors
Superman's that dude who would fall for a Nigerian prince email.
Kevin Conroy man....R.I.P to the Legend.
Every writer who even tries to assert the idea of Superman and/or the entire(non-Batman) Justice League being completely incompetent and brain-dead stupid is *HARD* projecting.
Is that even the same voice actor for green lantern? Sounds completely different from in game
Um he sounds the same. Just more calm
As i understand it Green Lantern's come with some voice modulator by ring, little bit - so in battle mode GL had echo voice, but recording he just talks normally, or it's just his "DRIP" of black teenager
@@totomen666 the reason he had that distorted voice during the story mode is because of Brainiac's corruption
@@Tribrid-zv3nq But Batman, Superman, and Flash didn't have distorted voices.

As if they weren't jobbers enough in the rest of the game.
It's quite clear to me Sweet Baby Inc cannot write or consult on a script to save their lives.
And the original Rocksteady definitely isn't on the writing team anymore because those tapes did t even sound natural nor did I feel any real personality coming off of the characters. It didnt even sound like a real conversation.
It goes to show when a script is lifeless, no matter how good the actors can be they still cant make a bad script good.
Flash could’ve just traveled back in time…
Maybe use Wally west flash in a new jl game set In Arkhamverse and Make sure this event doesn't happen.
The devs don’t know the characters lol.
It’s okay. We still have Wally….. maybe….. but we’ll probably kill him too later.
Why wouldn't they negotiate with Brainiac to visit at a neutral place? If it's a trap, they should have told the world that that it was one.
Bro why does brainiac look like Voldemort? They couldn’t do a single damn thing right in this game
Justice League and especially Batman are much smarter then this, Batman would be cautious the moment ship landed, and Superman is much smarter than this. Rocksteady hire new writters and retcon this game if you have any dignity, make it elsworld
Dark Multiverse version of Arkhamverse.
Green lantern wouldn’t work. It’s willpower.
Since when has Batman decided to play along with the others instead of trusting his paranoid gut?
Also, this Brainiac is WAY too boastful compared to what I'm used to. My experience with his incarnations has always had him very stoic and straightforward. Feels weird that he's gloating.
Flash is so stupid at this point for bringing wonder woman and not batman, the man who have contingency plans for everyone else. But instead he brings wonder woman out just to get her cheeks clap by superman. What a stupid writing. This game couldve just be batman and suicide squad vs justice league
Actually berry was smart for bringing we she has super power s batman does not
They didn't animate this explanation because it would have to be something they thought about beforehand instead of at the last minute.
So you're telling me, batman fucking knew that it was a trap and he just allowed himself to go in there. This is some bullshit right?
Suicide Squad: Kill the Rocksteady
Ah, so it's Superman's fault for wanting to talk to Brainiac. In that Justice League Dark: Apokolips War movie, he had the "brilliant" idea of bringing the league to Darkseid's front door. Superman isn't exactly good with plans.
Writers are shit and dumb superman down to make these shit stories
I’m mixed on this. The explanation is…actually seeable. I can imagine this scenario working.
Superman isn’t one to punch first often, Braniac didn’t really flat out invade, Superman just wants to talk this out,
The league is unsure but they get why it’s important to Superman and go with it.
Batman only doesn’t push further like he normally would because he’s too emotionally compromised from his character growth. It seems like he’s starting to doubt which parts of him to keep and which parts to let go.
So it does create a nice little tragedy that if Batman was acting like his paranoid self, maybe things would’ve worked out and the League would have had a more balanced approach.
But at the same time I wish we did see this play out in an opening cinematic or something. How did Braniac beat them all together, what was Batman’s last thoughts as they lost? Ya know, stuff like that
Absolutely spot on
I kind of disagree, because it relies on too many unknown character suppositions, i.e. Do you create the characters knowing they have to die; or do you create the characters knowing they have to be stupid enough to meet certain roles and expectations. That they have to step on the rake, that they have to walk into a trap, knowing it's a trap, and face the expectations of that trap, willingly.
Writing failure into a heroic character is subversion, and subversion is difficult to achieve for someone with a low IQ. You have to build on top of choices that should work, knowing that the result will not work, rather than sabotage the choices and put the hero/protagonist in a series of worse choices and worse outcomes. That's a rookie mistake with subverting the paradigm of the hero.
This probably comes with failure, that a writer knows when the character has to die, so they pad it out a bit, force the character to turn towards the audience, say something that shows 'they thought about this', to answer that critical sense of antagonism, of pushback.
The writer likely had to meet an objective, and it shows. Get X to Y. Explain Z. Figure out why they survived a nuclear blast... put them in a fridge or something, that should work.
The thing is, it's been done before. "And Then" writing, has telltales. signs that the writers didn't think too far ahead. Tropes. Constants. Excuses.
Either way, you are creating the circumstances in which a story is being modelled around the attitude of losing a fight, before it takes place. Because it is inherent in the vicissitude of the dialogue, that they don't have an awareness of things going wrong, where a normal situation facing a large, potentially catastrophic threat, you don't assume victory. Hence, the idiot ball phenomena, where you are writing the character to fail, not to succeed.
And that shows more than the posture of trying to be the archetype, of making the characters fit their own mould and convictions, ideals and behaviors. If you write a character knowing they have to do something that connects them into the next scene, you'll make choices the characters will likely be detached from their former actions.
This is a video game contradiction, because the character needs to be in a certain frame and location for the next scene, sic.
It doesn’t make sense at all. At best I can see Superman wanting to go to the ship by HIMSELF so he has the League as backup in case it’s a trap. Or even Batman just straight up refusing to go in there. These characters are just not that damn stupid.
So if someone knows the answer, great please let me know. But, doesn't Superman's planet get destroyed by Brainiac in like every timeline, hence why he is on earth to begin with. Wouldn't he know who Brainiac is and what he has done because of the Fortress of Solitude?
It's the devs' "Fuck you!" to every comics fan ever, that's all.
not always, the most common kryton destructions is usually because of Zod being greedy.
That one person who greenlit this concept of street thug level of villains becoming anti Justice League team so they could make them look better by humiliating the more known and well received characters should be damned to walk on an unending lego bricks filled road for eternity.
How are these audio tapes more interesting than the game itself?
Oh sh*t, by hearing these tapes it really comes across that the writers unintentionally set up that this Justice League was doomed since the start; by playing the superhero team charade, downplaying Batman and Wonder Woman's concerns over Brainiac, and indulging Superman's delusions of messiah complex.
Wait a minute... Brainiac's ship was chilling there and it was Superman's idea to go and be peaceful???
Wow!! The writers really didn't have a clue, did they?
Superman should know exactly who Brainiac is. He was involved in the destruction of Krypton. Either he was the AI formed there or it was one of his victims.
Brainiac wants to destroy Superman because he is what remains of Krypton and Brainiac wants to destroy all things Krypton, to keep his own knowledge of Krypton rare.
I really like how they did the league’s personalities. It makes it so much more annoying that they did them so horribly in-game
Superman’s optimistic sure but he’s not STUPID!!!! If some guy in a skull ship shows up I get not wanting to make assumptions but come the hell on
This is not Justice League, this is Stupid League and we feel shame for the writer who didn't respect to the characters and the players

One thing about this game that I like is Brainiac’s portrayal. Mainly because it’s unique from his usual: ‘I must collect’ or ‘Gaze upon a 9th level intellect’ spiel. All that is still there, but it’s encompassed in a layer of tedious sadism. He knows what he’s doing and he relishes in it.
Speaks too much like MCU Ultron imo
kind of defeats the sort of neutrality brainiac had as a character
@@Beware_Dripzilla Read DCs Convergence from 2015. Brainiac did the same thing.
They really played Baldur's Gate 3 and thought they could just replicate that.
I think people are exaggerating with this game but it feels like the writers weren't very fond of the justice league after all. I'm not upset because I do not see this as being in the same universe as arkham (I do not care if they say it is), if they didn't say it is in the same universe nobody would assume that
Ya know I could accept Superman wanting to try diplomacy with Brainiac as he didn't want to engage in battle if it wasn't necessary, but what I can't get past is the entire league going to the ship to meet Brainiac, or that Diana and Bruce weren't tighter with him. If anything, they could have sent Batman alone, he'd have no problem with doing it, and in 5 minutes on that ship, he would've spliced into the computer and seen what Brainiac is doing. Maybe Brainiac would've taken Batman over, but he would've just taken Batman, and the League would know Brainiac was a bad guy.
This is easily the worst Justice League we’ve ever gotten so far.
Are the writers brwindead? Superman would be the first to destroy brainiac instantly if he sees his shep

They should’ve just listened to Batman
Alright… I know Superman isn’t the super scientist or war strategist in the JL. But come on now, Superman ain’t that dumb lol🤦♂️
This is dumb, Superman is the reason why everyone is infected and Batman just accepted it against his better judgement? Yea ok.
Why does every DC game outside of Batman NEEEEEED to be, “Brainiac’s Invasion”?
The story make it so easy for the League to fall to Brainiac simply out of hubris over their position. At least Batman had a contingency and even his wards were killed or turned trying to enact it. Would have been more believable if the reason they thought taking with a "floating skull in the sky" was a good idea was stronger that just being diplomats. No way do the gamers believe the League would be this vain to blindly walk into a trap with a thin scrap of a plan.
You know what would've worked better for me?
1. Superman didn't trust Brainiac and focused on the fact he offered a truce without the fight starting yet. So could've been a thing where Superman and Green Lantern were the only ones to go to the ship under the impression that both would either be able to fend him off or escape but later discover Brainiac is completely prepared for them.
2. Green Lantern seemingly escapes deeply injured with League quickly on their way to help. Batman being the closest member to Lantern so he approaches to help his friend and discover the whereabouts of Superman. However he is caught off guard and immediately warped back to the ship upon being grabbed by Green Lantern where he would try to fight but be overwhelmed and overcome to be Brainiac's slave.
3. Then with Flash....Well, he sorta already lost cause he was holding back so just leave it as that.
If I had a nickel for everytime Superman came up with a terrible plan and doomed the Justice League I'd have two.
Which isn't alot but it's weird it happened twice
Many people got butthurt when they saw their hero died 😂😂😂
Why does Brainiac look like the sexy Bollywood version of himself?
Damn. Superman trash for that.
I feel like this is the kind of thing that would happen in the boys if aliens came to earth 😂just sheer incompetence
