    This translates directly to striking as well. Turning the knee down and pulling away is exactly how I was taught to escape when someone catches your round kick. Great stuff, thanks for the content!

    The difference between shoes and no shoes is night and day when it comes to the limp leg.

      Thank you. Very time intensive, but I think it's worth it.

      @@WrestlingUniversity Can you upload some kind of Wrestling mini game which builds takedown skill to play while recovering from an injury, maybe Wrestling for a lift ? or something like a touch toes mini game ????

    This is brilliant. I'm a Judo player but like visiting wrestling clubs. Upper body throws and hand fighting not a problem but I always worry about the leg grabbers n sparing and hate sprawling. This is a great defence 👍 thanks.

    Great concept and approach! Couldn't agree more that a huge amount of confidence comes from defense.

    I always employed what my brother (younger lol and better wrestler that me). Always taught me. Leverage (body mechanics) and knowing how to control balance is immensely valuable

    In the gi would the extra friction make this less effective or impossible? I'll need to try it out!

    • @WrestlingUniversity
      @WrestlingUniversity  Před rokem +1

      Not impossible, but the friction will add some difficulty. Pay special attention to the portion of the video where I describe not being able to slip out on the first attempt-then going back into the same destabilizing sequence. I learned and performed this move my entire life with wrestling shoes on so if I can do it in shoes it's definitely possible in the gi 🙏🏻

    Does this move put your ankle/knee at risk of you spin out towards the inside vs the outside?

    • @WrestlingUniversity
      @WrestlingUniversity  Před rokem +3

      Very difficult to spin towards inside. You'd have to jump your free leg over your elevated leg, not impossible, but reserved for the highly athletic and experienced. Also just not a smart first option as outside is immediately accessible. Good question.

    Isn’t 3/4 just setting him up for a single leg takedown by putting leg in between his

    Hey bro love your videos can you do a video on getting off your back and back on your feet while submission grappling in mind

  • @jewbabydono
    @jewbabydono Před rokem

    If you're working him in and out, aren't you setting yourself up to get swept? If hes got your leg up that far, and then you close the distance, of he knows what he's doing, wouldn't he just ankle sweep when you bend your knee and close the distance? Not trolling, looking for advice
