An unusual perspecive-and recording from behind the orchestra gives this an idea of what it must be like to be a player .If it had been recorded from microphones in front,the horn wouldn't have been so loud and there would have been less "echo" effect of the violin.He's enjoying this -the conducting /playing with the orchestra at the start -and his beautiful virtuoso work later.Bravo ,Mr Kennedy !!

@alfafc As far as I know, that was only practiced in the Baroque period. I don't know why he would have done that. A soloist facing their instrument away from the audience with an ensemble that size just seems like a bad idea. Anyone know why he would have done this?
I never got why the pushed him into that ridiculous punk image?! He is a brilliant musician and was taught by Yehudi Menuhin and Dorothy DeLay, so why this image? Did they think that someone who likes Discharge, Dead Kennedys, Joy Division or Crass suddenly thinks "wow, this guy is sporting a mohawk like me - let's buy his records"?! pointless...
Just look at his face while he is playing...It speaks volumes about his sensitivity

@TheJmills39 he is facing orchestra only when he is playing the first violin part, but faces the audience when returning to play the solo

He needed to be different to all the other generic violinists at the time. Personally its refreshing and he can express himself in his own way.
