The GLE to go for is the 450d .... I can only imagine how much that is 😢😢😢😢 This one deserves a 3/10 because of that engine .

Mercedes Benz ba re tlwayela, we grew up knowing gore di 300D ke di 6 cylinder 3L diesel motors with North of 250kw 700NM at the least.
These cars need a 6 cylinder 3L motors.
Imagine a V300 ka 6 cylinder motor 😊

Cayenne all the way if I had the money for the maintantance as well, otherwise on a tight budget I'd get a Lexus RX, if wanna be fancy I'd get a slightly used RR Sport

Benz lost the plot when they discontinued the ML for this. The ML was so much more classier, sexier than the replacement GLE. The biggest difference in the two can be seen in the AMG variants of both. Anyway about this, it is over priced. X5 3.0d for me all day long. Thanx for your vids, en your singing has improved by 3.74% from last vid. LOL.
GLE 2.0d should only be sold in Europe not here, 3.0litre and upwards in SA
The new 2024 Porsche Cayenne is also around that price
And a better car.
Before options, Porsche options are expensive , you'll need at least 2,6m for a well spec

Mercedes has become too plasticky for my liking as of late. The quality has been declining in their recent models compared to their competitors and predecessors. What annoys me for the most part is that they think all of the fancy technology can make up for it, but it just does not, especially when considering the price you pay for them.
The GLE has always been a dream for me but after 2023 i was like nah its not worth it. Nna personally I'd rather go for Volvo XC60 T8 Twin Engine or a BMW X5 xDrive50e M Sport 👌🏻
Nah, I'm sticking to an x5 as a preference. If I had the money I'd buy for my wife if I had one😂😂

A V-class is no different, an expensive people mover with a 2.0L diesel, V220d, 250 and 300d all use the same engine. Rather get an X5 for similar price with a 3.0L 6 cylinder diesel, or Discovery, RR Sport. At that price it must be a 6 cylinder for me.
Ultimately, it’s a V-Class. But I get your stance on the X5.

Absolutely agree with you. How does Mercedes justify that 2M price tag? Also it might not be a good idea to purchase this one considering how quickly it depreciates in value. I'm also disappointed with the power plant they decided to go with. They could have have atleast mated it with a 3L v6. I mean... the car is big!
I feel like some of these cars are built for its base, staunch Mercedes Benz customers because there’s nothing special here for almost 2 Million Rands. The interior materials 😬
Honestly that car would be good for oldies or people with families. As for myself, having such an amount I'd rather go buy a G80 m3 , the boxy m2, or even get a ranger raptor😈

The problem with the x7 is that you'd have to look at it and hurt your eyes every time you do.
What Mercedes is banking on here is that in this section of the market, the people buying the vehicles know what they want and are brand loyal. In that, if they are going for the GLE, this is not their first Mercedes and they have most likely owned another one down the product lineup and are now brand loyal and moving up the brand as their pockets grow. Additionally, this side of the market is not one for the price-conscious, and most people making purchases already know what they want and are not willing to compromise. Yes, we can make arguments, about the X5, Cayenne, and XC90 being cheaper and giving you more, but ultimately, if I want a Mercedes SUV and I have the money, I'm not going to compromise, because I've worked too hard to not get what I want - that is the customers logic

The price of cars is stupid yho, literally gone are the days you could have a 10 year plan and get the things you want with enough hard work and sacrifice. The VW Tuareg offers 80% of what this has to offer. The other 20% mostly lies in the fact that the Tuareg is not a Merc. It's cheaper too.
Mercedes-Benz truly no longer has real value proposition. We're buying the brand more than we are buying a good car, that's value for money.

If I had 1.9 million to spend then I’d rather go to BMW and get the X5 40i, very powerful and reliable engine, and it would still be cheaper than this. This car is just too expensive for what it offers. There are definitely better alternatives out there.
Merc is generally overpriced, especially when compared with the likes of BMW, Audi, Volvo, Landrover, etc.
Mercedes Benz is beginning to start with their pricing. At ths price, a Demo X5 3.0d would feel way more special. The GLE 300d is a good car, just not 1,9 million good.
