    Just about to start throwing my DROs on my mill and lathe, if the readouts ever arrive.
    This video has been a tremendous help.
    Thanks Alan

    Hi folks. There's handy trick when setting bolt hole circles. Add one to the number of holes and set the 'last' hole as 360 degrees. The 'last' hole then aligns with the first one and it saves working out the position of the final hole you actually wanted to drill. BobUK.

    Gday Alan, thank you for explaining how to use the DRO in a way that was easy to understand, I have trouble understanding instructions most times because of the way they are written, it helps me if I physically see it done in a simple manner which is exactly what you did, great video mate as always, ATB Matty🇦🇺

    Hi Alan
    Very informative video, as I've never got around to understanding what all the buttons do, I'm getting there!

    Thought I'd already subscribed, but now have. The R-F 31 resent buy, was already set up with a DRO, but like the way you brackets were made and installation on the Y axis. Going to follow your method and discard the one that came with it. Thx, nice presentation and well instructed. Bear in TX.

    I have similar scales and your mounting idea looks better than mine as the way i did it the scale covers the hold down bolts, also my fuelle on the Y axis is flat rather than corugated like yours so i might just change it and mount like you did as i had to lower everything down to fit the cover at table hight( its hard to explain without seeing it) anyway, good job and well explained.

    Thanks I enjoyed the video and I did learn a few things. For the back Horizontal bar you could use countersink screws to keep the retaining screws below the table top. You could also use a countersink screw for the oil hole as well. Thanks for sharing Best Wishes & Blessings. Keith Noneya

    Hi Folks, me again. MDRO have a device that will add the readings from two scales together. This could then be fed to say the Z axis is on the DRO allowing both the column and the spindle readings to be summed together and displayed. BobUK

    Hi Alan, great video, can I ask ,there seems to be some confusion about how to order these scales of Bangood. Problem being what measurement do you give the supplier , in my case my cross slide travel is 110 mm so I suppose I would have to go up to the nearest size they provide which is 150mm. So do I give them 150mm or do I have to add on any other measurement.?Thanks and keep the vids coming brill stuff,Mike

    • @enotsengineering
      @enotsengineering  Před 4 lety

      Hi Mike the size ordered should be the 150mm length the reading length. The scale will be longer just make sure it will still fit at 300mm long

    Love your video on dro. I've figured out how to fit a dro to my machine. I've even selected the Chinese model I want. How do you tell them the length you want on the three scales?

    Hi Alan thanks for making this video, it's very useful. I have the same mill and was wondering if you could please tell me what size scales you ordered? Thanks, Morgan

    • @enotsengineering
      @enotsengineering  Před 3 lety +1

      Hi Morgan. I think I ordered a 350mm and 550mm which have a total length of 500 and 700 end to end
