- FALLEN ANGEL - my companion believed he had tracked down the voice of 'Angel'. We had a firm grip on the mystery of Miles Sutherland, we just couldn't let it slip away.

Bloody hell, this episode was intense!
The level of acting still strikes me! Great job)
John Watson being clueless about why walking in and saying "he's dead" would be upsetting was not the right beat after such an upsetting episode, imho
Oh wow. I really hope they apologize for this episode, because the demonisation of DID is not cool :(
This is the best series. Top episodes.
I know you meant no harm and the original source material is Very Problematic but you could have done a better job with this episode. DID is a very misunderstood and stigmatized disorder.
The personality disorder subplot was completely unnecessary, but otherwise great episode as always
This is the most ableist thing I've heard in so long.
It was going so well until the.. I don't even know how to describe.. I don't know if I would call this ableist or transphobic, not quite enough info for that but.. it definitely toes a line that made me feel pretty icky. I'm honestly just curious what mental illness or condition you were going for here. Whatever was going on here felt very out of touch.
I’d say ableist. I’m pretty sure they have DID (dissociative identity disorder). A lot of the time people with DID have alters with different genders that aren’t trans.
I actually liked this ep alot. It was crazy to listen to. imma be very real, I dont think the ep is about DID at all. The whole omg the guy is Angel bit. Felt like he was spiraling because he was caught trying to fuck and steal money from his stepson. Why i firmly believe this is because Sherlock says. If he was here we would have asked him to do the voice. Which implies what Angel is doing is intentional not something brought on by a truama based mental condition. But hey that just my two cents on it.
Poor Marianna tho she is sandwhich between two idiot bored men asking her what she is tpying.
Does anyone actually say that Desmond had DID? I dunno if I just missed it but it seemed they didn't say that AT ALL.
I am not here to flame, but I’ve really been loving this podcast and I felt like I needed to… say something? About the way that dissociative identity was randomly slapped onto the perp in this episode without any real exploration of it or indication that people with dissociative disorders are not inherently unstable and violent? This is an infamous trope in the horror genre but I really wasn’t expecting it here and it’s left me feeling pretty tired. I completely understand that this is not a common disorder, and people who have no personal experience with it probably don’t have much knowledge on the subject. I guess what I want to say is… I hope that if you choose to utilize a real disorder again in the future, that you will talk to some people who have that experience first. You guys do a great job with portraying autism and other mental health issues, I have faith that you could have done the same for this. I am not anti-villains with mental illness, I just think… that the way this was sort of jammed into the end of an otherwise really fun and well-adapted storyline… felt othering. I don’t think that was your intention. Best wishes, and I hope this is food for thought.
Absolutely well said!
I don't get why are all of you saying the personality disorder part was unnecessary?
If you ask me ti gives the episode a little more of an interesting twist yk if every episode was just about a big bad man being greedy it would be boring so chill a little bit please
Yah and the he's dead part well what would you do?
Miles would be in shit for long and keeping it from him would just make ti worse -most probably - later so yeah that's it❤️
Good episode if you ask me❤️❤️
Changed my mind no more yippeeee, this is absolutely my least favourite episode, representation of DID like a violent disorder is boring and harmful. Watson Tory defender? Yikes. 😂
Watson was defending his Mom. It was a knee jerk (albeit privileged) reaction. It's hard when your families politics sucks. "No that's my Dad" was obviously a joke aimed at Thatcher. 'Can't seem to find any younger voters" also an obvious jab at the Tories.
@@theangryholmesian4556 my parents are conservative, I don't defend them cause they are my parents and excuse their view of the world which I find wrong. Then again nothing serious, Watson doesn't exist but from earlier episodes I felt it was out of character.
The original story written 100 years ago was less ableist and less weirdly transphophic. You guys have done so much better in the past. Disappointed in the way you chose to stigmatise DID suffers like this.
Good job! I know for some people this can controversial.
This was not your best episodes.
Does anyone remember that Sherlock had many disorders in the early episodes? Somehow, DID was a part of his mental health disorder and he never once shown any symptoms of it. Maybe I didn't check on the cues of every episodes? Since it's a podcast, I doubt I could even count them.
Why of all the infamous detective is being normally autistic but not caring for Desmond? What happened to that DID of his? Smh 🤦🏻 All of his mental health disorders doesn't make any sense especially his ADHD, ASD and others. There's no a single soul of him acting other persona's like Desmond did.
I wouldn't be surprised if bpd was involved, just leave me freaking alone and never demonize me by making me look like an horrible person in Catholic church-
(I have the roughest childhood trying to survive away from my own abusive narcissistic religious mother.)
I wouldn't wish this on my enemies since it's a bit similar like SA
So please, next time, do it better.
this one was really icky i’m sorry
