Omg. I laughed at this so much. I just watched it but had the exact same conversation with my kids last week about the water thing. We relocated to the United States and Riaad Moosa is talking the absolute truth. It happens to me all the time. My kids have just given up on speaking in their mother tongue accents. Around ten years ago I went on holiday to new York. I was Having a drink in an Irish bar (which thinking about it seems a like a silly place for an Irish person to go while on holiday in another country).the guy behind the bar looked quite Irish,I figured he might be Irish American so I ask "so,do you have any Irish blood in you yourself?" He asked me to repeat it because he didn't catch what I had said.asked him again,he apologised and asked me to repeat again.so after my third time asking him "do you have any Irish blood in you yourself?" He looked at me really puzzled and said "was I born in an elevator??" 😂
