  • Wrong Speak Publishing founder Adam Coleman has accused President Joe Biden of putting a “Band-Aid” on the student loan debt problem instead of trying to fix the system.
The Biden administration announced last month a $US7.4 billion student debt cancellation scheme for 277,000 more Americans.
Mr Coleman hit out at universities for “price gouging” courses for young students.
“The actual problem is the price of college. It is not that debt exists,” he told Sky News host James Morrow.
“The debt is just the after-effect of the problem.”

College is a ponzi scheme at this point. Just graduated an engineering degree that took me forever to finish(part time student, worked full time). The amount of non connected/ elective courses you have to take to get a BS or BA degree is ridiculous. I get a few core classes like you have to learn how to read and write effectively but for how expensive it is you should be a pretty competent lawyer, engineer, dr. Etc when you leave. I learned more about engineering in my first three months doing the job than I did over my 7 years in college.

      ❤ojt is WAAAY better.
It took me almost 4 yrs to get a 2 yr AAS degree in Med Lab technologies. I had to take mandatory classes on financial responsibilities.... yet i was just out ofnthe Navy trying to get my degree. I was PAID to go to school (thank you GI bIll).
I loved my program classes but the stupid classes I needed made no sense. Humanities. Why do i need to sit in a class for an hour listening to classical music and trying ti name the styles of art through the ages? I did that in HS.
Its ridiculous. My program was accelerated program and still took forever. And i did 6 months of unpaid "clinicals" in 2 hospitals to learn how to do my job bc the Labs at school were old school labs. No machines. And Wednesday was blood draw day for everyone. We practiced on each other.
In clinicals, I had to stick 100 patients. Turns out im good at phlebotomy. I love phlebotomy. Id play a game and tell patients i had a story for then when i was done. I asked if they felt it and most said no, then i said, "awesome bc im a lab tech student"😂.
If you tell them beforehand they freak out.
I worked about a yr in that field before the night shift and issues with sleeping in the day got to me. VA said change careers and i tried network engineering but that required me to take more stupid unnecessary courses. College is NOT worth the pain in your ass they wannabe. I feel for those.who paid for it out of pocket. I wasnt getting a loan. F that

How are taxpayers in the UsA ever going to fund loans again if they are just going to get forgiven and average workers get left holding the can?

While the 'actual problem' might be the cost of tuition, the 'taxpayer' problem is this: The students made the decision to take on that much debt. No one forced them to go. If they can't pay their loan that's not my problem. If their credit gets ruined because of it that's not my problem. If they feel 'cheated' by their education, that's not my problem. If I can't keep up with my debts, that's my problem. Is the taxpayer going to bail me out? Hell no. But I should bail YOU out? HELL NO!
