  • The latest crazy online trend is polishing aluminum foil balls until they shine. I didn’t even know you could do that to aluminum foil, so Challenge accepted! I am going to do the Japanese polished foil ball just to see what it takes. I have tried to do an AMAZING MIRROR POLISH on on different objects before, but I never knew that you can polish tinfoil. This ball became my obsession AND my masterpiece.

    I have no idea what to do with this ball. Should I cut it open to see what's inside? Or something else? Let me know what would you like me to do with this thing.

      It would be great to be able to see the interior after so much compression and how much can be decompressed.

      You did it too fast. Now take your time and make it more spherical, dense, and polish it over a couple of days/weeks. That is the difference between a passing fad, a hobby and a skill.

  • @brianegendorf2023
    @brianegendorf2023 Před 2 lety

    I've considered doing something like this. But I'd start with smaller foil squares, and roll them and compress them to create a solid core. And then put the core on the right lower corner of a square-ish sheet of foil, and then roll it forward, and when you reach the end of the sheet, roll it left. I would rotate the ball 45 degrees, and repeat, and just keep following that pattern with each following sheet getting longer and longer. I think if you do it that way, you'll get a ball thats pretty solid before you even start to hammer it..

    • @brianegendorf2023
      @brianegendorf2023 Před 2 lety

      As a side suggestion, when rolling the ball forward, go two rolls. That way, as the sheets get bigger, you can measure it out by pulling the foil out, rolling the ball forward beside the roll, and then mark the spot to cut the foil sheet at at the end of the ball's second roll.
