Great video! Love seeing the step by step process. Btw, thanks for mentioning the type of piece this technique would look best on. I have painted items that don't look quite right because, maybe they don't have the same detail, etc. that the sample piece has. I feel your passion!

I have a piece that is already stained. Can I clean and just go straight to gesso stage? Should I sand my stained piece first?

Can you mix your paints with other paints and blend them?
Thank you for showing us how to do this piece Amy. If we are not starting with an unfinished piece do you recommend us to sand or completely refinish and then stain or can we just lightly sand then start?

I have a cupboard that is already stained & varnished. Can the gesso be applied over an existing finish or would the varnish be an issue?
I'd remove the varnish first!
