If you’re wondering why people don’t report it till much later, it’s because you internalize shame when you are sexually abused.
I went to a highschool where a female teacher was having sex with the students. It was well know. There was a male security guard who always flirted with the girls. I dont know how far he got with them though. At a different school, the P.E. teacher was arrested for abusing girls. The principal there was a pervert, too. At a young age, girls don't think to report that kind of behavior. They don't think they will be taken seriously. And they are afraid of how people will see them. Back then, reporting sexual abuse was not encouraged. So for everyone asking why she waited so long...if you haven't been in that situation, you probably wouldn't understand.
Before the 2000s the teachers would beat you up for reporting them

Wow, I heard about that teacher, those were my years in high school at Hubbard, I kinda thought he was a bit weird but I guess my gut feeling was right. There was another teacher who was fired from there (Mr. Contreras) who ended up being hired at Kennedy High School only to predate on young girls there too - smh

I can believe it! I worked at CPS and so many male teachers had long criminal and s*x charges on them. I refused to let them start but the hr director would get mad at me but I had to protect the middle school girl students. I refuse to work in another school setting again. I can't imagine what's going on now.🤦🏼♀️
I had 3 teachers at my high school who all had sex with their students. 2 were females. 1 was an English teacher. 1 was a LD aide in the library. The guy was a drivers ed teacher. They all got caught and did time. This was from 1998 to 2004.

3:30 This expert doesn't know if every circumstance where a teacher is sexually interacting with a student would qualify as sexual abuse? Lewd acts with a minor or statutory rape (amongst other possibilities) don't meet that threshold for sexual abuse?
Did they change the definition of "expert" recently and not update all the dictionaries? Or is the area of expertise nonsense and defying logic? What is happening here?

Jane Doe didn't report, her therapist reported to Chicago public schools. The therapist was the catalyst or the support/strength she needed to come forward.

Sexual assault is such a broad statement. Touching a womans leg can be considered sexual assault, but holding a woman down and tiuching her body is also considered sexual assault. But they are way different
She was 16 and he was in his 30's. He groomed her. Any sexual contact would've been illegal, based on her age alone. I'm sure you already know that though.

Im a female from the Chicago area and I wouldnt have waited this long to do something about it if it actually happened...so the question is did it actually happen. She found her voice yes, and her empty wallet she wanted to fill
If you were blessed not to be there and go through it with them, you cant simple assume it’s money. If it was money, she would be more public, more open, and her demeanor would be completely different.
The students and teachers are all in on in.. we were all students and we knew the teachers to avoid.. and what students were going..

She is the evidence, innocent men don’t hide. his school also actively did an investigation and found that he abused her. He acknowledged that he had sexual interactions with her. Are you serious right now?
