This is easily one of my favorite scenes in Season 1. Falcone can forgive most forms of betrayal, but when someone uses his own family against him, that's where they crossed the line.
I love how Fish tries to defend herself but when Falcone steps forward she’s hushed immediately. He played a mob boss perfectly. He commanded a kind of stage presence that no other character could challenge and demanded respect.
Nasir The Senate Johnson the man has a behavior that could easily be mistaken as a kind old man, someone’s grandfather maybe but the ominous undertones of a dangerous criminal. Falcone was one of my favorite characters by far
Powerful scene, but it would have been even better if Penguin never told Falcone that Liza was working for Fish. And then he just straight up murders her, not knowing if she is loyal to him, and shows how determined he is to protect his empire. But yeah, Penguin and Falcone severely outsmarted and outclassed Fish in this one.
gorrow1990 I think he knew after being compromised Liza may be killed anyway, he didn't want to give anyone else the satisfaction, it's basically a way of saying "You think you're bad, but I'm worse".
ToxicFlame707 Nah I just think it was Falcone's way of showing that you can't beat him even if you attack him at his only weak point. By killing his "mother" himself he basically shows that you have absolutely nothing to ever dream of blackmailing him
There is a reason why Don Falcone is the true king of Gotham. He’s been in the game for a long time and commanded the respect of people like Jim and Harvey. At the end of the day, it’s all business and leaders must make an example to show their power
Man season 1 and 2 were probably my favorites cause of the suspense, like, you see Don Falcone, and you already know he’s the boss, you saw him enter in episode 1 to save Gordon and Bullock, and his presence it just...badass....and Penguin, although I wasn’t a fan of him before watching Gotham...actually impressed me, season 1-2 showed how he went from literally nothing to being the King of Gotham
Great acting, but the music is what really sells this scene. Love the ominous undertone that begins when the flower is dropped and penguin's thematic entrance.
C'mon falcone, really? There was no need to kill poor Liza, could of let her go, obviously it was fish Mooney's fault, and fish cared for Liza when falcone was choking her, wow sad face
A m j e l She helped Fish deceive him it doesn’t matter Fish was calling the shots it matters she willingly deceived him and used his mother against him
Man i felt so bad for her i mean she was just an innocent person she didnt have to die. I didn't expect this, i almost shed a tear. It was like he was killing his own mother because she looked just like her ya know
i can't believe that jada pinkett smith is the same actress from madagascar 2005, Niobe from matrix reloaded 2003 and The Matrix Revolutions 2003 how cool can you get !!!
Welcome to the world. Plenty of people regularly are condemned just for doing what they are "told". This happens regularly to employees, soldiers, policemen, etc. Society doesnt show them any mercy. Only if we, the audience. are exposed to their individual circumstances is there any possibility of mercy and even then it is still low.
Ludith Vazquez In an earlier episode, he called her "Fish" and she nearly strangled him for it while bitterly stating, "Only my *friends* call me 'Fish.'" Oswald saying that gets under her skin and he knows it, but he is now under Falcone's protection. This is his way of showing how the tables have turned for her; now the Penguin has the upper hand and there's nothing that she can do to him. If you actually see this, Ludith, that's why the simple remark of "Hello, Fish." is so significant. It's more about the fact that he called her "Fish" than the remark itself.
I think I'm gonna hate Falcone for killing Liza who was only a kid who was only taking orders from her boss, she refused to carry out the poisoning attempt on Falcone and he kills her regardless.
@@niakowinchester kill I wouldn't be too sure, maybe she was just knocked out cold. In a way it kind of was self defense because she was half reluctant to fight the other girl.
SPOILER! for those who haven't seen season 3. Anyway I would just like to say how I just hope Carmine Falcone to return as kingpin of gotham. I'm tiered of Penguin atm, I'd like to see butch, riddler, Barbra and Tabitha take charge only to be then put in thier place by Falcone. Carmine looks, acts and feels like a true mob boss. he is scary, famous and overall has the charisma needed to be kingpin. in the original comics Falcone is the kingpin during Batman's first year in crime fighting so it would make sense for him to take controll again especially after the fact James gordon killed his only son who was supposed his only "good child". Hopefully all the chaos in Gotham will motivate him to come back and stay incharge for about a decade until bruce becomes batman. I'd also like to see carmine become more ruthless. As in season 1 he seemed to be more chaotic neutral. I'd like to see more of a ruthless falcone who will kill anyone who gets in his way. atleast now falcone has a reason to not like James gordon. either way I just hope they don't kill him off like they did to Maroni. that was really stupid! Maroni is the second biggest crime boss in Gotham and they kill him off before bruce becomes batman. wow I mean Maroni plays a vital role in the dark knight and in the comics he is the one who sprays acid on Harvey Dents face. in my opinion carmine falcone was the only reason the first season of gotham was so good. they better keep him and live though out the entire series!
I'm pointing this out because I haven't seen anyone else do it, but like if you look at victor when Carmines Killing Liza, even though it's out of focus you can see the biggest grin ever on his face, made me laugh, he's insane
Each of us in our lives are presented with choices that determine events long after we've decided. If he had let Liza live everyone would know that she, and his mother's memory, could be used against him effect. Sometimes the right choices hurt like hell but they're nothing compared to the agony caused by weakness.
Outside of Carmine Falcone strangling Liza to death, Victor Zsasz and those who came with Carmine Falcone did away with all the members of Fish Mooney's gang that were lingering outside.
I see a lot of people saying he shouldn’t have killed Eliza ,but I disagree and get it. She willfully and knowingly helped use his mother against him and was a major accomplice to Fish’s plan.
Falcone and Oswald could have been best friends,, both of them loves their mothers very much despite their jobs. But Penguin had goal and Falcone's right on his way
this scene is the best if you've been watching the show from the start also isn't that weird fish didn't figure out then and there that carmine and Oswald worked together
Sorry but Zsasz and his Girls are a Little bit over the top. Well Zsasz is badass but cut them out. It's the friggin Mafia. By the way this should have been the season 1 finale after having a Status quo to built up Change. Maroni vs Faclone vs Fish for season 2 while Wayne murder subplot is going on.
This is easily one of my favorite scenes in Season 1. Falcone can forgive most forms of betrayal, but when someone uses his own family against him, that's where they crossed the line.
I respect that
GI Jack rip Falcone tho. Screw Sofia
Classic mafia style. Backstabbing and skullduggery? It’s just business, nothing personal. But family? That’s not something anyone can forgive.

J roque Maybe but she seem like Fish was bisexual like she really wanted Eliza but we will never know.

I love this scene because it shows the pain and suffering oswald inflicts on others without him even being there.
He did care for her, but business comes first, he needed to send a message. He did just that.
There is a reason why Don Falcone is the true king of Gotham. He’s been in the game for a long time and commanded the respect of people like Jim and Harvey. At the end of the day, it’s all business and leaders must make an example to show their power
I feel so bad for Falcone. I saw how much it hurt him to kill her
At first I was like "Okay, this Falcone is alright." And then I got to this scene for the first time, and wow. He just exudes power in this scene.
One of my favorite scenes from Gotham, had to come back and rewatch it. So powerful.
just love 2:10 when victor and his crew comes in
*Zsasz's ringtone plays.*
3:35
Fish: Carmine, you have to underst-
Falcone: *interrupts her without speaking*
What is there to understand? Her intentions were clear and she really has no defense for herself
Easily my favourite scene out of the whole series... I don't know why, but it's just so powerful.
I find it funny that Fish died and came back to life but Falcone still outlived her despite getting a second chance.
Damn! Just when I was thinking Liza could turn into some AU version of the original Black Canary.
Ikr ! Damn
Would have been better than what Arrow gave us....
Who would've guessed Penguin would choose to let Fish go instead of kill her?
There are few characters in the Batman verse that are both universally known and feared, Carmine Falcone is one of those characters.
This is why this was one of my favourite episodes thus far in Gotham

The penguin always wins #gotham
Penguin will rule
I can relate to Carmine in this scene. There's a lot I can forgive but not when someone hurts my family.
Weird how falcone daughter would try this on penguin later even though penguin was there for this.
Falcone is a boss.
I don't think he will survive this season.
Badjoke Maker hope he survives he just got badass
SomeRandomGuy558 Why? Because he can kill 18 year old Girls with his bare Hands?
No it's how he acknowledges to Mooney that he's back and remembers why he's there
