Tarantino's answer was the most on point
And to do it you need money.
@@brunoactis1104 of course, in order to make money. you must spend.
That’s why he’s the best, he knows it so well
@@JayBotnickhes best..? Lmao…scorcese is miles ahead
And cameron is leagues apart
@@nobad6843 Tarantino is the best in his genre. No one else comes close.
Scorsese gives priceless advice that you don't hear much.
Isn't that something you'd think of without the need for advice? What he said is true, however it's not terribly insightful. That being said, he's probably my fav director ever. If you need to be told such a thing, maybe filmmaking isn't for you. If you wanna do it, you from the very beggining would wanna do it to express what you want to say through the cinematographic language. What i'm tryna say is that you shouldn't want to become a rockstar for the rockstar lifestyle, your aspiration should have been to make music, nothing else.
Okay now that's deep and true!@@brunoactis1104
“Then work with actors” is the hard part. Unless you have friends willing to appear it’s very difficult
Where you at
Get on backstage and put up a casting call. There’s plenty of up an coming actors who want to work on little films for free
Tarantino sounds like a high pitch Vsauce
Do you know who the second one is
@@arjunlal2691Sam Raimi, he directed The Spiderman 2000s trilogy and Evil Dead films
Cameron's advice is like him saying "im not going to say how"
I videotaped an older homeless woman pushing her loaded grocery cart up a rather slight inclined sidewalk. She kept running into the slightest crack or hump in the sidewalk and oh boy did she have to wrestle with that cart to get it over those little bitty obstacles. I'm gonna post it and list myself as the filmmaker. I think that might be the best one I have.
And people are gonna comment "why film the poor lady instead of helping her, gosh these people nowadays"
@@arcxne.lyeah! I wanna film a homeless lady. I want to make a actual film with my friends and family but they are not willing to do it, one of my friends also want to be a filmmaker like me and just will try to take as much control as possible
I agree with James's advice.
Thank you legends ❤
All of your waords are truly inspiring 🔥
I got my answer... 🍁 Thank you again ✨
For some reason, I thought "directors" was "dictators" when I first read this.
Not too far off 😂
Hell yeah
Everyone knows that. When people ask how to be a filmmaker their asking how to get a gig.
I think they’re addressing the popular phenomenon where people ask, “I want to be a filmmaker, but where do I start?” And then they just sit on their ass. Just go make movies and don’t worry about anything else. Then if they’re good, people will likely notice.
@@bennyjones1502 Most people who ask how to be filmmaker or either writing stuff or making 8mm films already.
@@nicholasjoseph8297 Then this is just confirmation that they’re doing the right thing. If they asked the question “how do you get noticed as a filmmaker?” That’s an entirely different question, but honestly I don’t think it has an easy answer or even if it does, I don’t think it can be taught easily.
@@bennyjones1502 your right that making shorts and scripts help you get through the door but how do you promote yourself, how do you find a guy who knows a guy. You can't only be a director in spirit if you want to eat under a roof. But your that having some experimental shorts or writing scripts or plays creates a better resume. That's why film school or film class in college is important so you can use high tech equipment cause anyone make make a film with a 8mm camera, camcorder, or phone.
You don't get a gig, that's not how it works unless you're absurdly lucky. Just get some actors (friends basically), get a camera and say what you want to say through the cinematographic language. For that to work, you need to have something to say to begin with, that's the most complicated part, because it's intrinsec to you; basically you need to be born an insightful and creative person. Tarantino himself shot Reservoir Dogs with friends as his first film, but the film got destroyed during production; what happend was that the script was so good that he got a gig. Sure he got the advantage of by chance knowing someone that knew someone that knew someone that knew Harvey Keitel, and also he was living in LA, but without that script, he wouldn't have got nowhere.
I wish to make movies with my tablet but my brother isn't ready to act, my parents won't come and if friends come thrn they become directors😂😂😂
I would like Iñárritu's advice as well.
How to become a pilot : Buy a plane, Get creative with the controls,be a pilot, show it to somebody, and you wont know if youve got what it takes to do the job until you’ve actually done it
If this director wanted to make a movie about you, your life etc.. the only catch to that you have to come up with your movie title. What would that be... the movie title of your life... God Bless....
Anything Tarantino and Scorsese says is legit
That was my thought process. I prefer deeper advice
Do you wanna be a millionaire?
Make a million dollars.
Their point is that it’s not hard to be a filmmaker. Just go and do it. Don’t say “I want to be a filmmaker” and then just sit on your ass. Go and make movies, and make them often with what little you’ve got.
@@bennyjones1502 If I could be a filmmaker, I'd do it, but the environment I'm in makes it harder than it ought to be.
That's why I became a writer, it's the closest thing to making a movie, the only thing you need is a brain and a piece of paper.
@@CanadaDryHands oh yeah, absolutely. I’m developing indie games because it doesn’t require a crew and coordination, just software and tons of time by yourself in front of a screen 😆 But I get to make dramatic cutscenes so there’s that!
That's the way it goes, specially for art. If you needed to be told how to make good art, you weren't gonna be a good artist to begin with.
Cant believe that guy falling asleep as tarantino speaks
Can u hire vidyut jamwal INDIAN actor like as a JACKY CHAIN
Then they made adult movies 😂
can anybody tell me name of all directors plz?
Please anyone tell the name of the first director please
James Cameron!

Ah you meant you want to be a director for hire. Sorry bud just make another film.
Everything is Experiential Learning.
Tarintino got lucky with Pulp Fiction. The rest of his movies are crap!
This rephrased is “I heavily dislike the rest of his movies, even if most of the world likes them” :)
OK, Django was pretty good.
@@bennyjones1502 You NAILED it!👌🏾🔥👍🏽
worst take ever
This comment is crap! Django Unchained, Inglourious Basterds, Once Upon a Time… In Hollywood, Reservoir Dogs, KILL BILL!?
Obviously there's so much more to it then "go make movies"...Film school is often pretty damn important for many. If you write, great, if not, find writers who'll let you make their short films. Publicize, enter film festivals, post on CZcams, get as much exposure as you can. Directors have agents. Try to get an agent when you have a body of work. Direct any job you can, build up a resume. Always be learning and listening and trying new things. But I'm sure people ask these movie legends how do you become a director...and these are the simple answers they give that spread around social media. It's 1,000,000 times more complicated than this video for shit's sake.
You are talking from a business standpoint they are talking from a creative and artistic side
Crazy to think that the only time you really learn how to direct is by doing it. And it's often so hard to get to opportunity to do it.
Wanna be sucessful white man? Be a successful white man. There you go.
can you learn how to play a guitar without even touching a guitar ?
I hope this video is for to help me and not just entertain me because I hear what they're saying, but when I try to contact Writer's guild of America to try to hire a screenwriter to write my screenplays because I don't know how to write a screenplay I will leave a message because I think they're working from home I will never get a call back from them. I have seen and been around a lot of wannabe business owners and now they are business owners they have started there own candle business, planner/diary journal business, they have also started there own daycare business, skin care business, and even vending machine snack business and are now business owners now making money while they sleep at night while I am still trying to be a film producer. I don't know if the film industry is a scam because everyone is starting there own business now, well actually some people and they are business owners now but the film industry you just get ignored. The only film business that did not ignore me was the Mexico film industry they are totally different from the U.S film industry. That just shows that the United States doesn't want to see you make it they want to keep us poor that's why when I call WGA or even SAG after they ignore me because no one wants to see you make it. But Mexico film industry is a lot better and different from the United States film industry. I think this video is just to entertain me but not actually help me. If it's not then tell me how you can help me because people don't want you to be rich.
