Every time I see this, I wish that they would all do a Broadway show together! Mitch shows so much emotion in these performances. Hopefully you react to Superfruit's Defying Gravity!! It was Mitch's birthday present to Scott. Be sure to always watch to the end with Superfruit, they usually have bloopers.

I’m so happy you noticed there was bloopers! I love everything about Superfruit! They have serious videos, fun videos, professional videos and they have some non musical content on their blogs as well. I hope you react to all of the music especially, but there are a few vlogs that are exceptionally funny. I’d recommend that you start with their evolution of or medley videos, like Beyonce, Rihanna, Miley Cyrus, Lady Gaga and 1989 (Taylor Swift) etc, and then one of my favorites is the empire medley and then feeling myself and then go to their official videos, from their album, like Guy.exe (best music video on their channel, and then I’m obsessed with Goodbye lonely, one of my favorites.
YAY SUPERFRUIT!!!! Oh please watch Empire Medley, Hip Hop Goes Broadway 1 and 2, Guy.exe and Defying Gravity!! The first is serious, the second three absolutely NOT 😁. If you want to see their (PTX) fun, crazy sides, you need to watch some of their behind the scenes videos or their tour videos such as PTXperience 2019 which has many episodes. They always look like they are having the BEST time of their lives. #SUPERFRUIT #PTX 💜
Superfruit recs: they have an album called Future Friends (Guy.exe is a stand out) but before that, there are medleys/evolutions of Beyonce, Lady Gaga, Miley Cyrus, Empire, Rhianna. And Hip Hop goes Broadway 1 and 2. And Mitch's birthday present to Scott when they do Defying Gravity from Wicked (similar bedroom theatre nerd antics to Frozen). All one-take lives.
Also just any of their content gives you something of the vibe they share.
For whole PTX bts, there's tour diaries from 2017; the recording of Evergreen is a mini doc of process; countless tiktoks and shorts and a few fan compilations ('PTX random jamming and singing on the fly' is a great one)
You can really tell that these three grew up together in Arlington doing children's theater. As many others have said, you really need to do Defying Gravity, from the Broadway show "Wicked." And find time for "The Making of Evergreen," one of their best behind the scenes videos.
This actually was filmed in a studio with a really good microphone. It's the same studio that they recorded many of their early PTX videos--the black curtain is the same backdrop for many of the "evolution" videos as well as many of the Superfruit music videos, and the Scott/Mario Jose "Lost on You" cover. As others have mentioned, they've admitted there were adult beverages involved in this session :) The goofiness at the end, with them singing "badly" is a throwback to their high school choir days when as a joke/game they would try to see who could do things out of tune for the longest without laughing. It's great to see these 3 just having fun as friends of so many years, but also sounding so amazing. To see more of them all interacting behind the scenes, you can watch the many PTXperience videos. There are a few reactors who have reacted to these, but they're also just fun to watch on your own time to see them interacting on tour. I believe there are videos from various tours between 2014 and 2021.
More Superfruit
There is so much silly behind the scenes footage of them. They really do not take themselves seriously at all, lol. Especially Scott. That man is an adorable goof ball at his very core. And Mitch is a lot more laid back and chilled, especially nowadays, but he's also very honest and real. The other members too. Matt is a lovely and bright extrovert that just seems so happy to even be existing in the band. Kirstin is very empathetic and can be serious and introspective, but also love to have fun. And Kevin so obviously adores his bandmates and having fun with them.

-Be sure to watch their rendition of Katy Perry's Rise... In reaction to the Pulse Nightclub massacre where over 50 people were shot dead and dozens more injured... Quite possibly the most powerful anthem you will ever hear!

The three of them were friends in Texas, knowing each other in High School (I think that's right). Mitch and Scott were roommates when they moved to L.A., and decided to start a Superfruit CZcams channel when not performing as PTX. Please check out Defying Gravity.😋
Some of the most fun you can have is watching past videos of Superfruit of Mitch and Scott just being Mitch and Scott. I think those videos made me get more interested in PTX than if I’d not watched them. It showed how precious and kind they are to each other and that makes a difference. They are funny and talented and fun to “be with”!! When they are just sitting in front of a couple of mics and winging it with songs or playing a silly game even if it makes them seem silly - they do it with such fun snd grace and ease!
I’m glad you reacted to this but you also need to act to one of their serious songs. What can I say? They are great at everything I’ve seen them do. God has certainly blessed them! All of them!

"Kirstin" is her proper, given name; "Kirstie" is her nickname (not a stage name). Either name will work for her (I use both in comments), she's even introduced herself as "Kirstie, rhymes with thirsty". Just please don't call her "Kristin", or "Kristen", or "Kristy", or any other derivative - it's a pet peeve of hers to be called by the wrong name, even though it happens with people who have her name in front of them (reporters, interviewers, etc.) and still manage to get it wrong.
While I enjoy this edition of Superfruit immensely, I'm not sure how typical it is; I'd say try the Superfruit episode with "Defying Gravity" for a more "normal" version of the show. The blonde wig makes a cameo appearance in that episode, as well!

Ptx, not just superfruit actually have a lot of very funny moments and also don’t take themselves too seriously. You just usually don’t see it it their official music videos. I’m sure their label wouldn’t approve , but if you watch their ,tiktoks, behind the scenes, fun interviews or ptxperience videos you’d see that they’re all very silly and have a lot of fun together. More along the lines of this one are pop goes Broadway and La La land medley. Also with Kirstie,

Superfruit is the “Not safe for Work” version of PTX. They are so much fun! They have amazing music videos and medleys (I recommend their Beyoncé medley or the Empire medley), as well as challenges and vlogs from when Mitch and Scott were roommates and inseparable best friends. It’s more of a fun rabbit hole to go down. Also I’m sure others have said, they almost always have a blooper reel at the end.
One thing to keep in mind on this: they are quite young here (early 20s), but they have already known each other for 10 years or more, and have sung together for more than 5. You can find a video of their high school group, The Trio, singing Lady Gaga's Telephone as part of a choir concert, here on CZcams. So they are old, old friends and completely at ease with each other. ETA: if you want to see the band having fun nowadays behind the scenes, the PTX Weekly News here on CZcams has bits from their social media accounts, including backstage clips of them working on videos, advertisements, and their live shows. So you can see things like Kirstin and her baby girl wearing matching pink wigs backstage during last year's Asia-Pacific tour, and most of them in a hot-spring in Iceland, and so on.

Superfruit's videos were all just joy. Whether they were doing vlogs, silly youtube challenges, reactions, and all the music was just pure joy. I really miss that they have moved on from this era. Watch Rise! You really need to see that cover it is the serious side of the channel but it hits the soul.
Superfruit videos are yes MOSTLY just goofy feel-good and playful stuff but OMG plzzzzzzz do some of their stuff like their music videos. "The Promise" "Guy.exe" "Rise"...just to name a few of my favorites...you WILL NOT be sorry you checked out more of their solo project

Kirstin's name is Kirstin; her nickname is Kirstie. When they appeared on _"The Sing-Off"_ and she was just 19 years old she used "Kirstie" as her stage name; that was probably still true when they filmed this since Kirstie is the name they used in the title. Currently, however, she's using Kirstin as her stage name and I believe she prefers to use her old nickname only with close friends and family.
All three of them have confirmed that there were "adult" beverages involved in this performance.
Basically, SuperFruit was a vlog that Scott and Mitch put out on a weekly basis during the years when they were living together. On this particular occasion they had invited their oldest friend, Kirstin, to join them for a relaxing evening, which naturally meant starting with a few drinks. And given who these particular old friends are it should come as no surprise that a "relaxing evening" together would, sooner or later, involve making music together, never mind that that's what they'd just been doing all day at work. So they headed to the studio (to avoid disturbing the neighbors), and naturally they continued drinking cocktails between takes.
The blonde wig appeared in so many SuperFruit videos that she's practically a character in her own right.
This video proves three things:
1. Alcohol affects the judgment of the trio just as much as it does the judgment of anyone else.
2. Alcohol doesn't do a d***** thing to the voices of the trio.
3. Even drunk, with a fit of the giggles and his best friends conspiring to keep him giggling, Mitch can get himself back on track inside of two lines. That's impressive. REALLY impressive.
In the blooper reel, the trio are playing a game they invented in high school; I'm told that many choir geeks invent similar games. The goal is to see who can sing most off-key for the longest time, without laughing. On this occasion, Kirstin lost when she broke into giggles and dropped out early. Then, because Scott was doing so "well," Mitch graciously conceded.
Many SuperFruit videos are simple vlog posts, though they're almost always funny. And then there are the performances, which, as a general rule, are a comedic gold mine. There are two exceptions that were very serious. In 2016, in response to the massacre at Pulse (a gay nightclub in Orlando, Florida), SuperFruit joined with three other singers who are also members of the LGBTQ+ community to produce a cover of Katy Perry's "Rise" that will stay with you forever. If you react to it, be sure to read the full description, where they dedicate the song. The five singers are Mitch Grassi, Scott Hoying, Brian Justin Crum, Mario Jose, and Mary Lambert.
The other serious SuperFruit video was "The Promise," featuring Adam Rippon. They posted it on February 14, 2019. It's gorgeous, and it's bittersweet because it was SuperFruit's farewell. SuperFruit is no more; Scott and Mitch have both moved on to other things.
In addition to those two songs, I especially recommend "GUY.EXE" and "99 Ways to Ditch Your Date." (Note: "GUY.EXE" doesn't have a blooper reel; it's an official video for a song on one of their "Future Friends" albums. Nor do "Rise" or "The Promise.")
Love that you appreciate the spirit of just having a laugh. Talent shines through anyway, but they obviously had tied a few on by the bloopers.
Apparently, there was a lot of alcohol imbibed that day, according to Mitch, Scott and Kirstie. This was filmed in Scott and Mitch's apartment and wasn't meant to be a Pentatonix video but rather just the three original members screwing around as friends.

The Trio (Scott, Kirstie and Mitch) aside from growing up together they are "theater kids". That is how they actually met as 8 to 10 year olds in children's theater.
They are also self proclaimed "choir nerds".
Kirstie and Mitch went to junior high together.
And the 3 of them went to High School together where they were in musical theater and choir.
Aside from all that the 3 of them were also known as The Trio. (There are several videos of The Trio before PTX was formed).
They would make their own arrangements and there is a viral video of The Trio performing at their High School choir concert. (spoiler, Kirstie is the beatboxer)

If you watch Superfruit Defying Gravity you will see the blonde wig again. Someone put together a video all the people who has performed Defying Gravity from the musical Wicked, they included Mitch and he sang a higher note than all of the famous actresses who played the role.
