      Yes they need assistance from both the government and individuals to make it a top class tourist attraction

      Yes the language spoken is egun , a lot of them are from badagry

    I think the people there are not ready to leave, because I have heard stories of government wanting to take them to another settlement, but it’s already like a culture for them. Year in year out NGOs visit the place, and assist them with every means they have.
    I guess the government chose to respect their decision not to leave, else enforcement would have been a way to take them out.

      The truth is if they leave there, their source of livelihood would be gone. Leading to more hardship for 85000 + people. Fishing is the only thing they know how to do. But the water is dirty can lead illnesses and no human deserves to live like that.
      I believe the solution (I might be wrong) is to clean up the water, and make it a major tourist attraction. There are similar places for example Venice in Italy and the place is conducive for living.

    These are water people and fishing community. Nothing except forceful eviction will dislodge them from this way of life

      Yes this is the life they are made for, they can't survive outside the water, in their words it's like like removing food from their mouth
