And to sum up four superman.
Steel was a construction worker saved by superman and was inspired to save people like superman. So he made himself the man of steel (iron man)
Superboy is a clone. Half of lex luthor(we find this out way later)and half superman.
Eradicator is a program to protect the legacy of Kyrpton. He steals superman's corpse and uses it as a battery to gather solar radiation to give him his powers. Eventually superman just comes back from absorbing enough solar radiation.
Cyborg Superman is Hank Henshaw. Hank Henshaw had a family and his origin is essentially Fantastic Four, was in space and radiation or whatever. Superman saves his wife and hank was able to download his mind into a computer. When he goes to talk to his wife she dies of fright cause he's a robot. When superman dies he bonds with the shuttle that brought superman here. He makes the superman dna part from the birthing matrix or whatever in the ship. And he makes himself the cyborg superman with the DNA and parts of the ship.

Steel was a weapons designer that felt disgusted and went into hiding by changing his name. When he saw his old tech on the streets he decided to become a hero after supes died. Supes did save him while he was working construction as well

    • @DSan-kl2yc
      @DSan-kl2yc Před 6 lety +14

Eradicator takes credit for supes coming to life saying supes was definitely dead. But since the body didn't decay, he brought him back no using all the radiation he had inside him. And he accidentally got confused during this process and became one of the Supermen.

One really underrated Superman game that handles Superman’s invulnerability really well is Superman Returns for the PS2 and Xbox.
In that game Superman is invulnerable and has no health bar. Instead, the entire city of Metropolis has a health bar and if it’s depleted(either from enemy attacks or casualties from your carelessness), then it’s game over.

A couple of story details that James missed, based on my memory: Part of how Superman comes back is that an automated system at the Fortress of Solitude sends out robots to recover his body and places it in some kind of regeneration chamber, which is when Eradicator enters there and that is how he gains a Superman-like body. For Doomsday, I think how he returns from the time travel trap is that there was a story where Superman figures he needs Doomsday to defeat a bigger threat, and so he goes to recover him.

I finished this game before (14 years ago, on a real snes too) and I came to realize that slamming people into the background is faster and safer than just punching/kicking them because you can get out of harm easily, althought killing enemies is slower but that was a decent trade-off when there was like two million enemies on the screen.

I remember this storyline when it came out, and while it had its corny moments, before we knew who Eradicator, the Cyborg, or Superboy really were it was a neat mystery initially to try to figure out which one was actually Superman. I know they just released a DC animation of the “Death of Superman” storyline and the next movie is actually going to be this story in a DC animation! Kids, I'll now teach you how to beat this game.
    1. Never confront an enemy straightfoward. Go diagonal, grab, punch, throw, repeat. If surrounded, quickly grab and throw. Much less likely to get hit if you do that.
    2. Always kill the flying enemies first.
    3. Save your special moves for the bosses.
    4. NEVER use heat vision or any projectiles for that matter. They suck hard.
    5. Cyborg Superman is RELENTLESSLY hard (even by following step 1), so grab all extra lives you can get. You'll need them!

Nintendo aside. Most Iconic theme music of the last couple decades for a video game has to be Mass Effect.
I still remember the chills I got when that crescendo hits just as you read "The civilizations of the galaxy call it... The MASS EFFECT" And bam the music peaks and its too perfect.
The other great example on the top of my head is "I'm still alive" in portal, but that's not really a theme song.

Hey James and Mike. Doomsday was a creation by a scientist who wanted to create something to kill all the dangerous beasts on Krypton long ago. So through science he created a super powered baby that he would then abandon on an extremely dangerous alien homeworkld. The child would die from exposure to the elements at first, to ravenous packs of alien beasts that would rip Doomsday apart. Each time the scientist would recollect the DNA and recreate Doomsday. Each death Doomsday would get stronger and he grew up eventually. Along the way, he developed regenerative powers to bring himself back from death.
He ended up killing the scientist and wandering around space terrorizing civilizations. One of those civilizations actually killed Doomsday, and wrapped him in the green clothes and cables as part of a funerary to jettison him into space but hopefully unable to unwind himself.
Interesting note, Doomsday met Darkseid when Darkseid was younger and Doomsday even survived a direct hit from Darkseids Omega Beam.
Anyways, loved this vid. Not a fan of Superman but I do love Doomsday(who during the Marvel and DC Amalgam was merged with Dr.Doom to become...Doctor Doomsday!). I loathe Batman for the same reason Black Panther is mostly garbage. They lack any actually negative characteristics, mostly NO but they have tried it a bit wi 8th Batman. Love Bats rogue gallery though.
Anywho enough rambling but Yo, Mike...you and James need to check out Dragons Crown on PS4. It was done by some of the peeps who made the D&D arcade beaten ups. It's a spiritual successor that adds new elements to the beaten up genre.
    It's also co-op same screen.

@@BoogiepopFearGhoul Idunno, I just listened to it and the "Molossus" theme and it sounds pretty generic. One thing I'll give the "Molossus" theme is it does have somewhat of a melody to it, in comparison to a lot of other orchestral songs that don't. But then I listened to the '89 Batman theme, and wow, it's better, and I'm not beholden to nostalgia as I don't think I've watched that one. Or if I did I don't remember. I just watched The Dark Knight and it was definitely entertaining, but not one of the best movies ever. But still entertaining.
