  • Smartphones have become pretty boring in the last few years, even though we're at an all-time-high for usage. This has led to some interesting developments - from folding phones, to VR Headsets that made me question: what is the future of smartphones? This question turned out to be more complicated than I'd actually thought - so let's get to the bottom of it together.

I still think it's strange we call these things "phones" ... they are such immersive devises, we use them for everything beyond phonecalls.

and I do think the future is more immersive VR holographic type tech; even more transcending the initial vision of "phones"

@@thePlumi dont like the idea tech is making people live life lesser and lesser, do we really want a future people wearing devices on their heads or even implanted on birth, and the people who sell the devices control what you see for the rest of your lives?

nope this is the last maturity stage in the cycle. if u gave the iphone to people in the 90s theyd all love it and find it amazing but if u gave the apple vision to people in the 90s or even people now they wont all love it. the last stage is the current iphones theres not much change to come

Very well done video, but I found it hard to watch at some points. Half the video was you repeating yourself with a bit of change of in wording and even showing the same graphic (good example :the technology life cycle, you didn’t have to show it twice and explain it twice, it feels like you forgot you already recorded that part and did it again) Then a 1/4 is general knowledge. Dragged out explanation on how the first phones worked and how the phones now are so much better, fact that people used to work local jobs and don’t have to do that anymore and then statement that you work online didn’t add anything to the video except for 2 minutes. This 9 minutes video had 2 minutes worth of actual information. It would be awesome on empty brain mode and would have a similar effect to doomscrolling twitter. That doesn’t take away from the awesome sound quality, very good editing and visually appealing and interesting graphics/footage used. The title and thumbnail persuaded me to click so they work well. So cool video, wish it was shorter or had more information or at least a more satisfying conclusion.

Nah. Apple zealous believers still exist and among them are riches and influential ppl. It requires a huge revolutionary gadget which will migrate user and evolve phone perception again like how we went from "dumb" phone to smartphone. Apple wasn't even the lead of that revolutionary but they got class
