    So question. I understood everything in the video. Thank you so much for explaining in depth. But I'm just still confused on if lipid bilayer's have a hydrophilic head to them then how do lipids (which are hydrophobic) pass through freely without a channel to the permeable hydrophobic tails

    Why would a phospholipid monolayer not work as a cell membrane?

      It would be too thin to support the integral and peripheral proteins.
      Also, how can you be lipid on both sides if you’re just made of one layer?
      You have a hydrophilic head and hydrophobic tail...No matter how you orient them, you won’t be lipid soluble on both sides.
