Keira, Hawaii its a beautiful place. I competed in two Ironman championship races. My strong portion was the marathon (3 hours and 36 minutes). The bike portion was below average 7 hours 14 minutes. The swim portion was my worst! 1 hour 44 minutes for 2.4 miles (no technique?). swan like a frog!! Keira, you probably will do well, you are a great biker and probably a great swimmer, since you have technique. I am not sure about your running? But you probably do well. Keira , I will appreciate your comments? Have great rides in the Big island and watch the heat! Sincerely, Miguel

Great vid. But I think you need a Polarising filter for your main cam whilst vlogging in the tropics 😉
Beautiful place, great looking bike and a pretty chick rockin a Hawaiian shirt.
You almost see no one ever riding most these roads outside of the ironman event. Not saying the ironmen are doing these exact roads, just that cyclist from all over flock here during the ironman events. Inside/around the resort areas can be nice rides as shown. however, Its too dangerous on the side of most these highways around kona area to ride on a normal basis. Alii drive on the beach may be the most ridden stretches. Only downside is you may get blasted by a drunk tourist going back to their airbnbs most days if your not on top of your game. The often extreme inclines, blind corners/hills, no shoulder or debris littered breakdown lanes and general lack of cyclist awareness make big island one of the more dangerous/difficult counties to commute on bike.
I've spent some time in Hawaii and traffic safety has always been an issue. What was your experience with the traffic?
