I know this video is a few years old so idk if you will see this, but how is it swimming in the ocean that far out?? I'm an ok swimmer in a pool, I can float, but thats my biggest concern debating on a cruise or the actual swim (though they did email back saying i could cancel and let someone else take the swimming suit)

Copy from my other comment to you:
Swimming in the ocean in New Zealand can vary depending on the location, but generally, it's a fantastic experience, especially if you're planning on the Kaikoura Dolphin Swim where you mostly only need to float!
Difficulty: The dolphin swim in Kaikoura is designed to be accessible for most people as you just float and the dolphins come to you, but it does require a basic level of swimming ability. The operators provide wetsuits and flotation devices to make it easier so you should be fine :)
      Tips:
Practice Swimming: If you're not a confident swimmer, practice swimming in a pool or calm waters before your trip.
Follow Instructions: Listen carefully to the guides and follow their safety instructions.
Stay Calm: Dolphins are curious and playful. Staying calm and relaxed will help you enjoy the experience more. You just need to float.
Hydrate and Rest: Ensure you're well-rested and hydrated before the swim to avoid fatigue.

very nice! How much does it cost? is there any chance to swim with orcas in NZ?

mmmmmh... I am not sure it would be safe to swim with killer whales haha! Jokes aside, orcas are migrating a lot around New Zealand so their are not regularly on the same spots like those dolphins are so there are no commercial orca swimming companies in the country. With a bit of luck you can spot orcas almost anywhere in NZ, the last 3 spots we received pictures of Orcas from where Wellington Harbour, Marborough Sounds and the Abel Tasman national park.

There are no organised Orca swimming tours (that I've ever heard of) but it does happen naturally more than you would expect! There are quite a few videos on CZcams of them interacting with divers and kayakers! This is the most recent one czcams.com/video/bTIcQMwYC1o/video.html&frags=pl%2Cwn

Orcas a regarded as whales (legally) so you're not allowed to get in the water with them, unless they swim to you
