Arno Stern and Le Closlieu

Semaine presents Arno Stern and Le Closlieu, a short film directed and narrated by Lubna Playoust; an invitation to discover Arno Stern's life, work, and his family, who are dedicated to keeping his legacy alive. You may be asking yourself 'Who is Arno?' Arno is a 99-year old pedagogue and researcher who considers that no matter what, we remain forever the child that we once were. It is this total freedom that has guided all of his work. Arno is known for having created Le Closlieu 70 years ago; a painting studio concept which welcomes both children and adults. Everyone applies themselves to their drawing with the certainty that no one else will comment on it as it is stored in their archives forever-as a result, a safe space of free expression is created for all, and around 500,000 artworks have amassed.
