We kick off this new carp fishing CZcams series-A Trip Down Memory Lane-with carp fishing legend, Adam Penning, who recounts a series of events from his campaign on a syndicate venue in Essex called Northwycke. During this 1hr 40 minute carp fishing video, we follow Adam's journey as he tries to track down a sought-after, upper-forty-pound mirror known as 'James' Fish'-a carp which isn't just scaly but long too... over 4ft long! It was certainly a carp that Adam wanted in his album. In this episode, watch how he overcomes the challenges of this intimate, deep, weedy venue, which also holds a number of other jewels alongside the ultimate prize of James' Fish.

What a wonderful story. It doesn't matter where you fish or what the size of the carp in your particular lake are, this narration is what we all go through and what keeps us going back to the bank.
My own club estate lake has mainly upper doubles and low 20's but I have seen an enormously long fish far bigger than all others on a few occasions, it's never been out for the 4 years i've been a member to my knowledge and this video is a perfect summary of my mission to catch it.
Here's hoping for the same outcome one day!
Same with my little club lake only 2/3acres, 3 x 30lb plus in there and they never come out , about 20/30 fish around the 10/14lb mark,
it’s hard fishing anyway , no one carps it and no one really fishes it , step on a branch and you’ve spooked them 🤦♂️, but we got to keep the faith and like Adam does go back to the basics , learning from him in every video I watch , the mans a legend !

I just recently found out that if you have a great storyteller (like Adam. Or Terry.) and just the guy and some pictures... It´s somehow more intense than watching an being-on-the-bank video.
Terry and adam are not great storytellers they are just being themselves minus the swearing lol..👍

Almost as good as Terry Hearns stories, I'm biased because I love Terry, he is my idol and has been for so many years, but if I had to pick two storytellers to listen to every evening, Adam would be one of them sitting on the reserve bench for when terry was sick or unable to tell me one lol Both awesome Anglers and story tellers

Easy on the ears old penning is, like terry Hearn, you know it’s gonna be a good story, it just puts you right there on the bank with them. Some anglers I can’t listen to because (not mentioning names) they either can’t string a sentence together or their voice is proper jarring 😂
