I can 100% relate to this story. I prefer owning fewer things, but the things I have I truly love and will keep for a long time.
I need to be more like this
i am feeling in his shoes...my car is just 26 years old and i love it like the first day i drove it, she will lasts much longer than me...
Ben needs to make a full doc . The people are waiting patiently
Yes. Please!
Some of us are IMpatiently waiting.
I thought this was going to be that... :(
@@justamar Really hope he does a full length about Naito Engineering. I thought he was and then it was like 4 minutes.
just finished the rough cut last week. it's coming!
update on my IG soon.
thanks for the patience guys, you won't be disappointed.
I wish Porsche would create quality vids like this. Their current campaign leaves a lot to be desired. This video is so intriguing and special. What a gem!
This is one of the first videos I saw in 2023 and to be honest, this gives me hope for the future. What a gem!
Well said. There’s an enduring appeal to the older 911s - they become part of your life, not another disposable object.
The engine sound of the classic Porsches is amazing.Thank you for this beautiful video and I also love the spirit of Toshiyuki kun .
Love Visivim. I've been to the Nakameguro and Omotesando stores in Tokyo. It's great he drives his Porsche daily. I drive a restored 40 year old BMW e28 daily. These cars are meant to be driven.
same! e28 is my beloved daily
@@nk-me2nw my e24 is my daily.
Do you know the location in Tokyo that this is filmed, it looks beautiful
First video I’ve seen where the true joy of driving slow and changing gears at 3000 rpm is shown. It is so relaxing it’s hard to describe to the younger generation and even harder to obtain in a modern car.
This film has been so impactful to me even while being so short. The thoughts, color grading, cinematography, sound design and pacing all have inspired me in some way or the other. I am so interested in this type of filmmaking, storytelling, thinking and everything and this film is just so important and intimate to me now. I am grateful for this film and the efforts that have been put in. Beautiful Work.
Thank You.

I like this guy. I feel the same way. I get sentimentally attached to things that have served me well and been with me for a long time. I wish I had a 70's 911 (maybe someday); for now, I am the original owner of a 2005 MINI R50 that I have extensively "restomodded" myself. Driving and maintaining the car, and accumulating new miles and adventures, brings me a lot of joy.
What beautiful cinematography and story telling
I love the patina on this car. Every scratch, dent, spot of rust is just perfect the way it is. I drive a fully-restored 80sc as my daily but I really struggled whether I should leave it the way it was. Just 2 different styles.
Classic Porsche 901/911 strolling through Japan's neighborhood is a beautiful sight indeed. Like a work of art. Especially with that original steel rim.
Just lost my classic black New Wayfarer sunglasses that I'd owned for nearly a decade (fell out of my jacket pocket, likely onto snow so I didn't hear it). I got a new slightly larger pair that matches the tortoise pattern of my prescription glasses for Christmas, but I can't say I wasn't attached to them. You knew how they opened, felt, fit and looked. I see them in photos and videos from years ago so I guess in that way they'll live on, it's just a reminder that everything passes away sooner or later, in one way or another.
I share the same passion as him. My '78 911SC is far from perfect in the eyes of many, but she's perfect to me. No matter how many times I think about or see the car, it gives me butterflies in my stomach. I wish for everyone to find the thing that makes their heart sing in a way that is difficult to put into words. Thanks for the upload, Type 7. Definitely subscribing for more.
People like Toshiyuki give me hope for the future.
Also, give us a feature film. I would love to watch a 30-minute - 1 hour video that follows the partial or complete process of these creators. I'm positive that there many like me that view this; I view these films and find them really inspiring for my design process and overall ethos.
I'll go a little further to suggest that I would pay a small fee to watch a longform video in the spirit of Netflix's Abstract design series.
He sells $3 caps for $350, and shoes for $1800 that people will use for one season, since they cannot even be resoled. What is inspiring?
Thought Hiroki Nakamura was the founder of Visvim. Who is Toshiyuki Ueno I wonder .
@@biomorphic that is why he has these rare cars ;)
@@biomorphic Lol, I understand what you mean. I don't necessarily care for the stuff he sells, but more-so the idea that we should invest in things that we can use further into the future. Admittedly, I don't know much about his clothing line.
Love it, love the Japan also, vibes are on point.
I love the Japan too!
yup same thoughts.
Fantastic. What a great car, owner, and story.
Feel the same passion for my 1966 PORSCHE 912 that I’ve owned for 45 years. Thank you for your video. ✌️
Intriguing how you finding these stories all over the world! Fantastic!! Thank you for sharing!!!
What an exquisite little film. Found it very tranquil. Really enjoyed it.
Absolutely unreal video. I know it’s an advertisement, but I forgot it was for about 4 minutes and 28 seconds of it.
What a production. It’s the anti-Top Gear, in the best way. Slow. Full of feeling. Thoughtful.
These videos are soooo good. I loved hearing this man talk and make sense. Using something and liking it more and more. Quite the antithesis to Brand New throw-away culture where people's insatiable voids never get fulfilled and the landfills overflow.
👏🏾👏🏾👏🏾 Thank you for making this video! Being an American, I have always had a reverence for Japan and their cultures view of possessions and passions!
What a fabulous film. The respect, the aesthetics, the feelings of this film are a peerless celebration of enduring quality.Lovely
100%!
UFFFFF Brother,................de LUX, felicitaciones !!!! Keep Rocking.....
Beautifully filmed, a little pearl. Loving things, keeping them and repairing them is the work of a lifetime and goes against the grain of consumer culture. It doesn't even have to be a "special" car like a Porsche, it can be an old Corolla. The value of the thing comes from inside you, not from a clever marketing campaign. 👍🇦🇺
What an amazing production. Thank you ✌️
That’s wild, his opening statement -i paraphrase- were
“we wanted to make something that performed for people, and that lasts.” He’s Japanese talking about a German car.
I’m American (German-Italian) and seeing his car and clothes, reminds me of myself:
but I drive a ‘02 Lexus IS300 (because of its beauty and reliability, its essentially a Toyota Altezza), wearing black jeans and Vans. I think we all want the same things, we just all have different views of what those things look like to us.
Beautiful film and a beautiful car. I'd dearly love a 50 year old classic Porsche. Such a sublime sounding machine.
Amazing film-making right here. Please make more!!!!
Damn, this was the embodiment of beauty. Bravo
Ted, So and Ben… like a dream team!
Love this video, the message speaks to me. Thank you
illustrates everything the modern era is not :-))
Thanks for posting 🙏
What matters most is that you give your best effort every time, no matter what you do.
well said
Like Toshyuki I am also materialistic. Not materialistic in wanting to buy and shop all the time, but I do love things..things that are/were made to last and be used for a long time. Always longed for a 911 too. Mr Ueno’s is perfect and he has the exact relationship with it that I would’ve wanted. Excellent video!
Well said, the distinction between those two types of materialism is too often forgotten.
Just lovely.
super catchy; love the way its filmed, great story!
Vintage everything.A beautiful thing.
well done and perfect message
Type7 always a great video of enthusiastic passion.
These cars were built in the era of human hands on manufacturing processes. This is how and why this era cars have soul. Many souls brought it to life.
Today computers and robots have replaced human intervention.
And we know what we have now.
This era car was only meant to be a ten yr old car. Not a 50 yr old car as many of the cars of this vintage are still loved, cherished, and restored.
the color, the shape, what a complete beauty
A great philosophy in this ‘disposable’ day and age.
Making things people will use for 20 years and have an attachment to. I definitely feel that. Nice one, Ted😊Solid.
The music is perfect.
This was beautiful.
just beautiful
wonderful video great work.
very high quality work. subbed.
It is Nice to see this short film. Thanks
If all I had in my possession was some raws, brigadier’s and a classic 911 I would be just fine with that.
Love it ! Made in Germany has been and will be always long lasting high quality product
SO good.
Very nice film & an inspiring person !
that was nice, very nice
Crazy how it felt so poetic.
Well, there is everything in for that:
a Porsche
an old Porsche
an Johnathan Ivy speaking
dramatic music
wide perspectives
small story
Quality pure and. Simple.
Beautiful camera work 👏🏼
Years ago I sold my 70 911E Coupe to a couple asian guys for $7500 US dollars. They were going to ship it to Japan and would sell it for $25,000. Still breaks my heart to this day.....worth over 100K now.
So good
Whoah this is really cool
Awesome loading, thank you, i appreciate this footage because i am feeling in his shoes...my car is just 26 years old and i love it like the first day i drove it, my bikes 34 years old, and these stuff will last much longer than me...
Beautiful!
Imagine if Ben Bertucci made a Type7 full length documentary about the So Naito crew and the work they do there in Japan? Ohhhh boy. *rubs hands together like a filthy little fly*
I love this
Please please please get more film/s about visvim a documentary would be increidble. The longer the better.
Well done nice production
I thought this was a Japanese production. Great channel. Keep it up!
love it.. my car is a 2004 bmw, my motorcycle is also from 2004 even my daily suv is 2005. , i just found what i like and stopped replacing stuff, regret losing my mk2 gti that was a keeper , ha my jacketi got before we had kids even some 20 years ago,
Beautiful Porsche.
YOU PEOPLE MAKE AWESOME VÍDEOS. THANKS FOR DOING THIS TO US..
Ueno-san's principles should be applied by many other companies. Craft and fabricate a quality product that will last a life time. Then pass it down. I adore his 911T. Nothing fancy. A driver's sports car. Analog and timeless.
Is this channel the new Petrolicious? I sure hope so.
Subscribed first 15 seconds.
Nice video. Reminds me of the wabi sabi concept.
Good vibes only :)
Brilliant 😎
I think Ueno-san is essentially an old soul in a young man's body.
thank you
最高最強のスタイル 良すぎる
Superb storytelling and cinematography… the car was lovely but I’d have to get some one to gently knock out that dent on the boot lid
In my opinion, old Porsches has its feeling like a japanese cars have. They were very simple, small and gave a lot of driving fun though. Also made with quality materials.. and the sound..
Welcome back Petrolicious. Hopefully this time with evolution of concepts rather than cutting room templates designed to sell watches. The world is waiting for a Zen and the art of motorcycle maintenance feature.
Dents, scratches, vibes, chill, awesome.
that was beautiful
Epic!
Well done!
Beautiful 911
A. I miss my 912. B. That blue… C. How is it that I can be so far away, yet always feel that my people are in Japan?
This in ENDLESS CLASS...
what a great color
Could you please tell me about the camera setting that use for shooting this film? so beautiful and meaningful !
I love this, my car is only 45, but I can totally relate to this
Beautiful car, I would love to drive a car like that on the open road w/ no traffic.
Mega!
Hi. Beautiful film. Could you detail the equipment you used in the filming to capture your look? Thanks.
無茶苦茶かっこいいな・・・
I like this guy's philosophy. Make something good and durable and use the arse out of it. Love that and a lot of the things I own are in that category.
What Porsche model is it? Stunning.
