Let me just make something clear guys for those who think these cards aren't fake. I forgot to mention this in the video. The Pack I opened these cards from said "BOOTLEG" I just didn't have the pack with me, but I know 100% they are fake!!! Because of the word BOOTLEG!!!
Not all off center cards are fake. Some cards are rushed or weren't manufactured correctly. I opened real packs of Brilliant Stars and some were off centered a little. Same goes for miss colored cards. The set Pokemon Evolutions had rushed cards which made them darker than normal. In other words too much ink was added to them. -Younger Bro
thanks for this comment. bought cards online and noticed a few cards of mine were slightly off centre or had borders that were a little darker. got a bit worried that they weren't authentic haha
@Bonky No worries. Just clarifying that not all miss colored cards are fake. The steps I usually take are feel the texture of the card, check for miss spellings (make sure it's not just a printing error), miss named Pokémon (make sure it's not a different language), make sure the pack art & box arts of the thing I'm opening is 100% accurate, checking to see if reverses & holos are more reflective than normal (have a reference from that set to be sure), then the final step: take a light put it under the card to see if there is a ink line. If not, I take an extra card from the same set and rip it. Just to be safe. If there is ink. It's real. If not it's a printed fake. There are, on occasion, cards that are miss colored, that are fake. Best course of action: have the real version of that card on hand. If it's still not enough, rip it to find an ink line. I'm sure there are more methods. We are bound to be fooled by a good fake card manufacturer. Just got to be careful. -Younger Bro
Thank goodness. I learned a lot I actually have a few fake Pokémon cards and I noticed right away by the color difference on the back. I also noticed how my cards were centered. Thank you so much for telling me more ways to find fake Pokémon cards.
my only critique is u need to learn some science my dude no matter the weight objects dropped from the same distance at the same time will hit the ground at the exact same time
Exactly the same thing I was thinking when I see this. Because the cards have the same size , so theorically having the same air resistance , the cards should hit the ground at the same time regardless of it's weigth. So this test is biased , probably because the guy already know which card is fake , he feel it more heavier. Feeling is not a valid scientific test.
Dylan Thompson your wrong because I’m sorting my cards and I found at least 70 of those cut off cards and cards that I got a while ago are really squeak
Thank you so much! This video is very informative! As a new Pokémon collector I’ve gotten my fair share of fakes from my friends who didn’t even notice themselves! I almost gave my friend a gold temple of sinnoh for 4 fake cards until my other friend (who is the Pokémon card master of my school) took one look at the cards and told us that they were fake! At the time I had no clue how he figured that out so quickly until now I’ve watched this video! (Also my friends did return any card I gave them for a fake)
Ok so I got a M lucario ex and instead of having its normal fist attack thing it has dragon pulse with the same description as the normal one would you say this is fake or not?
PokeTom OMG YOU REPLIED! I love your videos! You teach me everything about Pokemon! You are the reason why I love Pokemon. I'm so glad you replied also. You are the best CZcamsr in the world! Keep doing what you're doing. 😊
My card isn’t fake! (LeafeonV) Evidence: 1 - Is in the center, including extra detail cutting off the border, 2 - I can’t tell if it’s sticky, it’s in a case… 3 - It’s only heavier because it’s in a case. 4 - Pokéball side isn’t cut off anywhere (My border is black, is that still fake?) 5 - I don’t know if it’s bendy, it’s in a case. (Mention: Lol I said “Case” more than once but it’s in a “case”)
the fourth one is not true. it defies logic. gravity works the same on all objects. if you drop an egg and a watermelon, they will fall at the same rate. you must not have went to school
Some other methods: 1. The card has typos on it (yes, this actually happens) 2. The pokemon card looks blurry. Compare it to other cards to see the difference. Pokemon cards are printed with very expensive printers while people who fake cards use cheap printers. The expensive printer will print the card with very sharp image quality while the cheap printer will make the dull image quality. 3. The corners of the card are not perfectly cut. The card cutting process is mechanical so the corners should always be perfectly round. If that is not the case, the card is most likely fake.
Ok i need help i checked their back and they arent light and they arent cut of from the side (on the back) but they are cut off on the front, they look real but when i rip one of them it doesnt have the black ink line is it fake or real🤧
Also card dimensions. All official Pokémon cards are the same height and width. Many fakes will be smaller and some A little larger. Have a card you know is real and stack the suspect card on top, if the edges don’t line up it’s definitely fake. Where as off centre cards do happen (just not to the extreme of the ones you showed) Misprints and miscuts are extremely rare. So resist the temptation to use that as an excuse for suspect cards (unless you pulled it from a pack yourself)
The feather's got a different shape than the paper, because paper doesn't help birds fly. So when you drop a feather, it twirls around and such because it's curved and catches more air keeping it up.
can we just take a moment to appreciate that he just bought the bunch of fake pokemon cards and fell for the scamer's trap on purpose to teach us how to not fall for this trap
I bought an authentic theme deck and a real cheap booster pack. Both from different shops and I can tell the difference almost immediately. What you said was true. The prints, the stickiness, etc.
(3:50) you can't denote the weight of an object by making them fall .if the two cards are held exactly at the same spot as the the other and when you let it fall no matter the weight both will hit the ground at the same time. Surface area does matter but in this case it does not
PokeTom: "if u can bend it and the appearance of the card does not have much damage than it's fake." Me, rips the card in half: "few I thought it was fake 🤞."
Actually you would think that due to Newtonian mechanics. I remember learning about that in grade 9. But.. if the fake card is heavier while being thinner at the same time, it would therefore have a higher density (needs to be tested). If it has a higher density it will have less wind resistance on its fall (Galileo discovered that). But the test probably would have to be done in such a way that the cards can reach their terminal velocity. I have a feeling a short drop they would still land at the same time due to not reaching their terminal velocity. It would be an interesting experiment to do with Pokemon cards though. I could do it... but then i'd have to like touch a fake card lol.
Sorry to do this, but.... 1) Off-cuts need to be severe if you wanna use that method. There have been cases where real cards are cut wrong and those cards are worth hundreds. 2) New cards, holos, and reverse cards all squeak. Also if you spill food or drinks on them they get sticky. 3) Air resistance acts the same on both cards (real and fake) and causes no difference in time it takes to fall, though fake cards don't have a designated weight and therefore this method is very inaccurate. 4) This is really just point one again, you simply just added color/hue variations and unless you have the exact hexadecimal color swatch of real cards on hand you can't usually tell. 5) DO NOT BEND YOUR CARDS. Even if you think they are fake. Wanna lose a ton of money that you might have from EX cards, bend them. This is a horrible tutorial and it should be taken off CZcams or updated.
Bravo Bunny very well said. There's 1 way that works EVERY single time to check if a card is genuine. WEIGH IT. All pokemon cards from the same series except holos and reverse holos weigh the exact same as each user. Holos will weigh the same as other holos in that series...

Exactly lol, so many good ways, he was talking about the weight of the cards and I was expecting him to pull out a scale. Nope he just says it feels heavier
Another thing: Cards from big chain stores will never be fake, don't worry. That includes target, gamestop, toys r us, etc. Most fake cards are bought on ebay, or from flea markets, so never buy cards online unless the site or seller is trustworthy, never buy bulk EX cards, and don't buy from flea markets if the cards are still sealed, especially if the packs are $2 or less! I thought that might be helpful to add- I sell at a local flea market and i feel horrible seeing kids buying $1 fake packs that are sold there.
im confused because i bought 4 packets from one place BUT 1 packet cards are off-line and sticky, rest aren't. Is it possible that they sell real & fake cards in one place. PLZ reply!
There's another way too, normally Pokemon cards have 2 layers and they are a very little bit thick.Take a card and take ur phone and turn on flashlight and go to a dark room and keep ur card on the flashlight. If u see the backside very clearly or 75% white or the white light passes through it,then it is fake.If the light is very dim and 15 to 20% visible, then it is real
I just bought a pack of it and I watched this video and something's he say something about not able to bend but when I bend it it broke so more of watching in the video my pokemon card don't have a black film and is not perfect yellow line so now I am confused 🤔
its funny really in classi learned no matter how heavy something is if they drop at the same hight at the same time they will hit at the same time becuase gravity has anequal effect (unless only one of them is paper b/c than air resistance)
They will hit the ground at the same time. But of course there is surface area that makes air resistance which makes one of them fall slower. Now if there was no air resistance, they would fall at the same speed no matter how much matter is in an object.
Keep in mind sometimes real cards are cut of center, but it is possible, I had that with some cards from a sealed tin in a trust worthy store (Gamemania)
So.. I scammed some little kid of a first edition poliwhirl and I was skeptical. So I did this test and the only one that it failed was the stickiness part so it was not refrigerator magnet or off center or the wrong colors. What do I do? Im planning to get it rated and sell it. So i dont want to scam people.
As a parent with a son mad on Pokémon cards I find this video helpful, knowing how to spot fake cards will help parents to not be scammed into buying fake cards. thank you for sharing this video. 💎
actually this was really helpful cuz when my friend opened a pokemon box he got a really lot of OP cards but i was a little bit uncomfortable cuz it was not like the one which will be in pokemon card videos so i was searching for this vid and i saw this it was really helpful :D
FYI you can use scales to weigh objects, also two objects at different weights will fall to earth at the same speed... this is due to gravity being "9.8 m/s/s acceleration of any object placed there" regardless of weight.
Thank you so much for this information. This will be helpful in a lot of ways. Btw ur my favourite CZcamsr and I was recently unsubscribed so I resubscribed. Have a good day :)
im glad my kyogre EX, decidueye V-star and ninetales break aren't fake, cuz those my favourite cards i have and i would've been depressed if they would've been fake
Ok so I didn’t understand the one where you make it like folding so I’m asking: Does real Pokémon cards get these vein looking types of lines or the fake one get them
Galileo Galilee said that if you drop two variously weighing objects st the same time at a certain height they will also land at the same time. In short no matter the weight of an object they always drop at a certain speed and time. So you can't really tell if a pokemon is fake by droping both the fake and real ones.
You can also read from the text and some my be fake pokemon for instance I saw a guy with a pokemon called darksea also you can tell from the colour for instance me and my friend were playing and this girl came up to us and said "Wanna look at my cards I have really good ones" but when we came over we saw only 6 cards they were all common and 5 were fake and her only real was the evolved spritzee and she says its all real and her strongest one is a fake blue riolu which had golden text for its name
I remember in like 6th grade pokémon cards were really popular and I looked at one I had and the poke ball on the back of the card was literally upside down
At the swamp meet I bought a pokemon card pack thing. I opened it and everything was a legendary ex pokemon. I was so happy and I showed my dad. He told me they were fake and I checked and I saw that they were fake. I was so sad. So I'm probably not gonna get pokemon cards at the swamp meet anymore 😕

icy paw jamaa sure throw a tennis ball off a cliff THEN DRIVE A FUCKING BUS OFF IT WHICH WILL HIT FIRST!?!?!?!
icy paw jamaa I agree with you.

me too. But I could be remembering wrong
They will hit the ground at the same time. But of course there is surface area that makes air resistance which makes one of them fall slower. Now if there was no air resistance, they would fall at the same speed no matter how much matter is in an object.
Thank god none of my new cards are fake. My mom wasted 20$, so I would of felt bad

The guy in the alley said the cards were real. I can't wait to sell them to the hobby shop. Disneyworld here I come.
3:44 man really didn't go to high school XD
Keep in mind sometimes real cards are cut of center, but it is possible, I had that with some cards from a sealed tin in a trust worthy store (Gamemania)
They sellin u fakes

Just got told my parents got me ages ago fake Pokémon cards for my birthday now idk what ones are real lol
So.. I scammed some little kid of a first edition poliwhirl and I was skeptical. So I did this test and the only one that it failed was the stickiness part so it was not refrigerator magnet or off center or the wrong colors. What do I do? Im planning to get it rated and sell it. So i dont want to scam people.
NOOOOOOOO ALL MY EX ARE FAKE XDDDDD:
I feel bad for you
Eh dont worry I got 100 fake cards ex for only 8 pounds and my friends won't notice
legendary gaming pokemon go and more Lol I'm sorry

Tokeny real 100 exs would cost atleast 300$-800$
Or 50 cents like every single

@@cuh4207 Ok
Tbh I have one ex and it’s a real kingdra it’s my only real card but still I’m sad because I have more than 20 to 30 ex so yeah I feel crap
Thanks man, I recently got some Pokémon cards and i thought something was off and j went to watch your video. Now i know it’s fake! 😄
I can hear some noises on my card but the other numbers is ok now it is fake or not?
a way to tell if it is fake or not only real ones have a black line inside if you rip them...
Blobfish Gamer a tip no one is gonna use XD but thanks
So what I ripped a mewtwo EX anyway and it was fake
Nobody is gonna do that........except some that I know
As a parent with a son mad on Pokémon cards I find this video helpful, knowing how to spot fake cards will help parents to not be scammed into buying fake cards. thank you for sharing this video. 💎

actually this was really helpful cuz when my friend opened a pokemon box he got a really lot of OP cards but i was a little bit uncomfortable cuz it was not like the one which will be in pokemon card videos so i was searching for this vid and i saw this
it was really helpful :D
The weight of an item does not make it drop faster than a lighter object!
You definitely deserve a lot more subs then you already have.
True
For me I do still collect Pokemon cards even they are fake the importants is you having fun collecting them
sherwin ng well I participate in championships it’s more fun
For me l just like the art
This video was very helpful keep going with the good content
Does all vstar shines in rainbow colour? Cuz I have shaymin vstar that doesn't shines but it passed all 5 steps to be at real.
FYI you can use scales to weigh objects, also two objects at different weights will fall to earth at the same speed... this is due to gravity being "9.8 m/s/s acceleration of any object placed there" regardless of weight.
Im actually crying that all my cards are fake :(
That hurt
That hurt dude
Turns out my card that would’ve been over $30 was fake
What about he back side because the front side dosen’t make any noise but the back does?
Thank you so much for this information. This will be helpful in a lot of ways. Btw ur my favourite CZcamsr and I was recently unsubscribed so I resubscribed. Have a good day :)
Jirachi _Jonas Thanks!!! U To!!! 😄
Stop l. You are a poop 💩 and you are a 😼
Jirachi _Jonas Thank you, now I know how to tell if it is fake or not.👍🏻👍🏻
Another way to tell is by it saying "evolved from meowth" unless its a persian
im glad my kyogre EX, decidueye V-star and ninetales break aren't fake, cuz those my favourite cards i have and i would've been depressed if they would've been fake
Ok so I didn’t understand the one where you make it like folding so I’m asking:
Does real Pokémon cards get these vein looking types of lines or the fake one get them
Thanks now I know that my happy meal pokémon card is real
Thanks for telling me this now I know that I have 4 fake Pokémon cards!
Good tips! You were moving your hands a little too fast for me though like you were in a rush. Thanks for the video
Poke tom i have a pokemon card called togepi&cleffa&igglybuff and its a tiny bit smaller then my others v maxes and im not sure if its real or fake?
Galileo Galilee said that if you drop two variously weighing objects st the same time at a certain height they will also land at the same time. In short no matter the weight of an object they always drop at a certain speed and time. So you can't really tell if a pokemon is fake by droping both the fake and real ones.
I remember what I did in grade 7 forces chapter and I did see the video in 0.25 and both landed on the same time
You can also read from the text and some my be fake pokemon for instance I saw a guy with a pokemon called darksea also you can tell from the colour for instance me and my friend were playing and this girl came up to us and said "Wanna look at my cards I have really good ones" but when we came over we saw only 6 cards they were all common and 5 were fake and her only real was the evolved spritzee and she says its all real and her strongest one is a fake blue riolu which had golden text for its name
AD123 yolo maybe it was a shiny..
No it wasn't an EX it was also bendy and the cover was also fake
AD123 yolo Lol I have a Mgardivor (I can't spell her name) and it says it's steel type and evolved from metagross Ex
legendary gaming pokemon go and more I saw your comment further up
AD123 yolo kkk
I remember in like 6th grade pokémon cards were really popular and I looked at one I had and the poke ball on the back of the card was literally upside down
what if my pokemon card bends easily but all my friends say its fake?
The dead give away is when you buy a booster pack it has only 9 cards and no tcg scan card also its got a glossy shine to it
That’s a nice hoopa on ur wall that u cut off a McDonald’s happy meal!
It's a nice background, calm down
Jodie Van Zwieten you calm they’re just saying I cringed and laughed you took it to serious
Did you get your face out of a McDonald’s chicken nugget 6 pack?
At the swamp meet I bought a pokemon card pack thing. I opened it and everything was a legendary ex pokemon. I was so happy and I showed my dad. He told me they were fake and I checked and I saw that they were fake. I was so sad. So I'm probably not gonna get pokemon cards at the swamp meet anymore 😕
You helped me so much, tysm
