It’s possible there are a number of great Elton John songs you haven’t heard before because he has too many to count. “Tiny Dancer” is definitely a good place to start. As far as the piano goes, he’s quite possibly the best rock/pop pianist of all time. Great reaction 👍

There is an entire repertoire of Elton John B-Sides...songs that never made it into records because of space considerations. Many of them are great too.
      -Sick City
      -Screw You (Young Man's Blues)
      -Lonely Boy
      -House of Cards
      -Cold Highway
      -Conquer the Sun
      -Tortured
      And a bunch more.

    • @kurbo19
      @kurbo19 Před 2 lety

@@Ocrilat Absolutely. Wish they added Sick City and Cold Highway to Caribou, which could’ve replaced one or two tracks. I discovered Tortured when I got the Chloe single and was pleasantly surprised.

"Philadelphia Freedom" ..Billboard's #3 song for 1975 -- well-sung, gritty yet upbeat lyrics, '70s pop w/catchy/snappy '60s motown beat, full wall-to-wall instrumentals, top-notch studio production, ..a crowd pleasing rousing song! ..a winner!

I remember buying this album when it came out, I was 12 at the time. As a kid who loved music and Elton it was the greatest album ever. Not just for the songs but the album came with a poster, a lyric's book, a Elton John comic book and a scrapbook of his career up to that point. Try getting that with a Download. I still have the album.

Elton and Bernie are responsible for so many great, lesser known songs. "Mona Lisas and Mad Hatters", "This Song Has No Title", "Sweet Painted Lady".

Long John Baldry saving Bernice Taupin from suicide is said to be the meaning behind these lyrics. Elton used to be Long John's pianist until he stormed out.

Listen to the band. These guys were there for Elton's meteoric rise, and are at the top of their game here. Elton fired them after recording this album. The drugs and exhaustion had started dragging him down.

In the 1970's elton john had 4 of the top 5 singles at the same time and song #6 was an elton john song. Saturday night is alright, Daniel, yellow brick road, and i can't remember the others. Tiny dancer was probably one of them.

Tiny Dancer was a flop. Check out his two greatest hits collections he released in the 70s, it’s not present on either.
Tiny Dancer became a thing decades later because of the movie “Almost Famous”

"You gotta start somewhere." - Gardner family motto. 😀
P.S. This was one of the first songs that I recognized as "Oh... so THIS is Elton John!" I was not yet an adolescent, and I didn't quite realize what the lyrics meant, but even then I could recognize someone saying, "this is MY life, so I'm making MY decision here to break up with you..." The instrumentation, the vocals, and the whole sound was magical to me. So it is with no little sense of vindication that I express my delight at encountering a fellow admirer of Elton John's work.
P.P.S. "Tiny Dancer" is another awesome example of Elton John's labors of love. You will not be disappointed.

There ist no words anyone can express that pays worthy tribute honoring how much
Elton John has meant to Rock music...How much he ist loved by billions of people.
Das words "Legendary...Music Genius" simply ist not enough. Rock music ist still
das most popular genre of music by an extreme majority of Earth's population, und if
you don't know most every song written & performed by Elton John then you have
been living under a rock scurrying about your own limited demographic dreamscape.
I can't imagine a world that never experienced Elton John's passion for musical
    story-telling composition.
"[Soft Rock] God"?...Ist my very sad attempt to define him. :-)
I like your Rock music reactions much...Liked und Subbed.
Have a fun day. Stay safe on your farm or in your Haus from COVID if ya feel need,
und help others if ya can. Auf Wiedersehen aus Wiesbaden :-)
