- AllWaves, a revolutionary wave pool technology from Belgium, brings surfing to artificial lakes, providing landlocked surfers with an authentic surfing experience.
Designed by wave energy expert Steven Nauwelaerts and serial entrepreneur Geert Nauwelaerts, AllWaves aims to create the world's safest wave pool with a natural look and feel.
The system uses a durable textile pillow on the basin floor, moved hydraulically to mimic ocean waves.
This technology allows for customizable waves, accommodating all skill levels.
"Our wave generation knowledge is captured in intelligent algorithms with infinite wave variability. A simple push on the app makes the desired wave roll," notes CEO Steven Nauwelaerts.
AllWaves' design includes a natural-looking lake with 360-degree sloping beaches and generates a wave every seven seconds, enhancing surfer experience and investor ROI.
The system can create waves up to six feet in a 100-meter by 100-meter basin, holding 64 surfers simultaneously. It features left and right-hand point breaks and an A-frame peak.
With a lifelong guarantee, AllWaves partners with leaders in hydraulic manufacturing and high-tech textiles to ensure reliability.
The technology is on display at the company's site in Knokke-Heist, Belgium, where it runs on renewable energy, highlighting its carbon-neutral footprint.
AllWaves is ideal for recreational surf parks, water parks, professional practice venues, and mixed-use real estate developments, combining safety, aesthetics, and energy efficiency.

The world is made better when the joy of riding a wave is given to those not able to live near an ocean. Sharing the stoke, learning to ride a wave is good medicine for all. Bravo Belgium!
It looks more like an ocean wave than the other pools, however needs to be at least a foot bigger. FYI for the developers - safety is not a selling point for surfers. You can wear a helmet in concrete bottom pools if it bothers you.
It’s a selling point for parents that are going to drop kids off for the day 😂
Its a selling point for the companies who are likely to buy the technology and open a venue so surfers can actually have access to it
Definitely needs to be bigger.
@@Disciples_Board_Co It would get old fast surfing knee-high waves every day. Kelly's wave is still the best by far.
Way to go Belgium. It would be cool to make it a surf destination.
Who wants to travel for dinky waves? It looks like like the Great Lakes.
The best! Like a real wave !!
Sweeeeeeet Sweeeeeeet yeeeeeeaaaahhhh yeeeeeeaaaahhhh!! NICCCCCCCCCCCEEEEE NICCCCCCCCCCCEEEEE!!
👏😎👏
Looks cool
Super cool
yeah but the A frame kinnda meets the left and right at a point. safe?
Really cool how tech is bringing something to the places with no beaches 🤙🏽😎🖤🏄
Did you check the map before typing this?
Congrats
It's a wave for midlengths, something for everyone😊
I remember when they had one of these outside of Austin. It didn’t last long.
does it get any bigger? looks kinda small and meh 1-2ft
The race for artificial knee to waist high waves continues...
Yeah, and you are the big guy who is charging the 30 footers.🤦🏿♂️
@@dacat8171 get real, this wave is tiny. i wont surf 30ft, but Ill surf head high in an ocean all day long.
@@riceman2112
Dude, these surfers in the pool are landlocked. They are having fun while catching waves and without the necessity of traveling around the world and waiting for a swell to arrive.
Furthermore you have no clue about the amount of energy you need to generate a wave. Double the size of a wave means double the amount of energy.
@@dacat8171 I wonder what it costs to ride that wimpy wave?
@@riceman2112
It is around 100 US$ per hour. Belgium is expensive.
Sooo, can I come by and surf it?
‘It’s really safe because it is in a pool’ Maybe put some sharks in there to make it more real?
looks better suited to farm prawns
What is the price to surf here?
Where is it locate in Belgium?
wow!
w
at??? Wanneer, waar, hoe? Is deze open voor iedereen??
Ok so how does it work?
Something goes one way and the wave goes the other 😂
Cool it’s knee high and closing out lol.
Shit and this is in my own country !? Thanks for sharing i was completely oblivious to its existence lol.
I wonder how big the waves can get in that pool. Looks fun though.
Definitely in need of a filtration system ASAP! Like WACO😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂 Water is nasty💯💯💯💯💯💯💯💯💯💯💯💯💯
This is the type of waves that you pull up to the car park and realise there is no waves. Then you go home and wait for a real swell.
Fkin grovellers oh yeah it's like surfing in the sea.. no it ain't. Not even close.
Exactly, that’s when your bro calls and your like nothing much today but ankle slappers. I’ll paddle out if I’m feeling like I just want a little swim.
Dunno like. You must live in a good place for surf. If I rocked up at my local and it was like this I would be low level stoked to grab a few hours in the water (East Coast Scotland).
It's worth getting wet and keeping limber, but it's not exciting.
Seemed to even have a back wash❤ hows about adding a dash of salt😊😍
Whaattt Blair in Belgium?????
Is deze open voor iedereen??
Nee. Enkel R&D
Great idea but needs to be 2-4 times bigger waves
I think that is going to be the case soon, let's hope
Possibly better than a sharp stick in the eye.😜 Actually, it’d be better than nothing.🤙
Why make a 🌊 pool that only puts out knee to waist high waves???
🤦🏿♂️
Because some people don’t want to ride ten foot mutant slabs, they just want a fun little surf. We’re not all pros
@yourlocalmemedealer2543 You're greatly limiting your prospective customers. Kelly Slaters pool has a range of sizes. Keep the weenie waves for beginners, then jack it up to accommodate those who want to ride some head high or 8' waves. Trust me, all surfers appreciate what you're doing bc it keeps the kooks down to a minimum.
Too small tbh. Most wave pools are perfectly safe so I'm not sure why they emphasized that. This needs more POWER
I want cold small surf I need to pay for please.
😂
Wow safe I am there🤣
Strong pitch right 😂
LOL it’s safe what happened to surfing surfing is the new golf
Blame klly he not so secretly loves golf 😂
triple the size
It definitely looked like the ocean in some of the angles. This could even be put into a calm bay somewhere.
Add an extra 2 to 3 foot on that wave and you’ve got something
Looks great but it probably is $1000 a go !
It's literally the opposite! Their innovative technology makes it possible for surfers of all levels, keeping it at a very low price.
too bad it's such a short wave... By the time you stand up on the board it looks like you have 200ft before the waterline ends.
that wave looks totally gutless
Im sure you would have been stoked to try it out when you was learning
It’s a much better wave than what the sea has to offer in Belgium so everyone will be happy.
Artificial waves are disastrous for the environment and for the surf culture
Is that sarcasm or do you actually think that?
@@AB7F9 no sarcasm here. It's obvious isn't it?
@@roc1761 How?
@@AB7F9 for the environment: there is a current water crisis and the perspective is not going well. Such pools consume plenty of water that is normally aimed at local inhabitants. Also they need to empty the pool regularly through the years for maintenance. Add to this a high evaporation from the surface + waves and you have a disastrous situation if you only consider water consumption.
@@AB7F9 surf culture is basically enjoying nature as it is given to you : work hard to get your wave and then enjoy. Repeat. That's it. With surf pools it's : pay and wait at a number on the wall to get your wave. Then leave the place after your hour, or spend your dollars.
For all the wave pool haters in the comments. Clearly you have forgotten the effort it takes to get to even an intermediate skill level and these pools provide an environment where anyone can learn to surf.
What? 🤔
@@dacat8171 there were a bunch of comments crapping on the concept, calling it weak, lame, non-barreling, ect... at least ten of them but they split
It’s kind of funny, it’s just a different sport and you are seeing the two cultures clash…same happened with rock climbing and gyms
@@ItsWesSmithYo What? Whether you ride a wave in the ocean, or on a river, or in a pool, it's still surfing.
The only problem is the elitist eh holes that claim their version of the sport is somehow more influential or 'better' than the rest.
If your in the water living life, enjoy the ride.
@@boddysurfer the most elitist thing in surfing are the KS surf ranches...disgusting that he opened one in dubai. you have to be a friend, a sponsored pro or an investment banker to afford a day there. he's an f-wit for pimping rfk jr too. andy uber alles
definitely the best wavepool yet
This is irony / sarcasm?!
@@surfgatinho Has to be.
Looks like Disney Land . Great , stay there , surf there so that we have less penguins in the ocean
First negative but positive comment I’ve seen 😂
Ripple pool
Its safe because its knee high
I wouldn’t use the term powerful here, looks pretty weak!
The wave bends out away from itself. You want a wave that bends into itself. This pool is the exact opposite of what you want as a surfer. Poor Blair trying to sound hyped on this turd pool.
Too small.
why go to all that trouble to make a crap wave? slaters wave blows this away. complete waste of money.
ks is a wank....washing his money in dubai pimping for rfk jr. out of the water he is a kook
Dead...
that's all mr jimmy said, but you can't always get what you want
One wave nearly run off 😂
tiny junk waves why bother
crap tone and instrumental ability, why bother?
2ft... crap
Weak
I think for a surfer these wavepools would be boring all of them
Wow, so there’s finally something fun to do in Belgium?!? (FWIW - great food, but boring country.)
I was just watching “in Bruges” that’s in Belgium right 😂
I hear the waffles are fire lol.
Too weak
and how is the wave made? Stupid movie!
too small the waves, useless
