- I love this song, too. And no offense to anyone, but, the versions that were on here werent the best. So, here it is. Rhode Island by The Front Bottoms. You can buy the whole album on itunes. It's srsly great! Lyrics further below.
Theres a true story behind this song. The band was playing a DIY punk festival in Rhode Island and they met this kid who told them he was going to ride his bike from his home in Vermont to Florida. All he had with him was his backpack, filled with drugs. (The guys think this is what he used to "pay his way" around). Jump ahead two months later, when The Front Bottoms are playing a show in New York City and they see the same kid. After exchanging hellos, he tells the guys that he made it as far as South Carolina and turned around. This song has always been special to me. I found this album when I was 16 and super lost and fell in love with the idea of running away to some friends in Rhode Island. I'm 20 now and planning a trip :))))!!!!

I live in Rhode Island and I feel like this song was made for me like what the heck😂, I had this whole plan to run away to Mississippi so I could see a boy I no longer talk to which isn’t a far way from Florida. And when he was talking about that girl I felt he was talking about me cause idk it just describe my actions and feelings so well.

We also have a couple of beaches. Not very pretty or clean compared to other places but theyre still decent. Also Block Island. Also everything is very close and you don't have to drive very far to get food or go shopping. Unless you live in Coventry. Also Newport is pretty touristy and I enjoy it.
